SERENA’S POV

My knees scraped the floor as I was dragged in like a criminal. The cold tiles bruised against my skin, but that pain was nothing compared to the ache drilling into my chest. My heart pounded wildly, wondering what on earth made Damien's Father collapse.

Damien sat in the room without saying a word or looking at me and it made the room deathly quiet as everyone's eyes were on me.

He sat at the end of the long dinner table, his face carved from stone as there was no expression and no flicker of emotion. He stared straight ahead like I wasn’t there looking bloodied, and accused but still trying to hold whatever remained of my dignity together.

“I didn’t poison him,” I murmured, just loud enough for him to hear but my voice cracked. “I only served the food… Damien, you know that.”

“Don't mention the Alpha's name!” One of the guards twisted my arm and I writhed in pain.

“Sorry, Alpha.” But Damien didn't say anything.

  • Four times Rejected, Claimed by Mafia Stepbrother    Chapter 98

Serena's Pov I knew I was doomed the second Damien’s body hit the ground.Everything around me felt like it collapsed. My vision blurred, my heart roared in my chest, and the entire world moved in slow motion. He was there one second, burning, bleeding, groaning and the next, he was limp. My mate. My stubborn, infuriating, infallible Alpha mate, now brought to his knees by a wire and a trap meant for me.But I knew somewhere deep in my bones that this wasn’t about just me. It never had been. This was bigger like a war and I was the battlefield.“Save him! Please, just save him!” I screamed, crawling to Damien’s side, ignoring the zaps of residual electricity that sparked near his boots. My voice cracked as I held onto him, trembling, broken. My fingers shook as they reached for his cheek, which was losing color fast. But he wouldn’t even open his eyes.“He needs a wolfsbane antidote!” the Alpha of Blue Blood Pack announced, pretending to look concerned, but his smirk betrayed him. Th

Damien’s POVFrom the moment I stepped foot into the Blue Blood Pack’s territory, my wolf hadn’t stopped pacing.Something was wrong.Very wrong.Lilith had insisted—no, forced—me to convince Serena to perform tonight. She played it off like some grand gesture to improve pack relations. “It would be a good look,” she’d said. “Let them see your Luna’s strength and her grace. Make them respect her for once in her pathetic life.”Bullshit.Lilith never did anything without a plan curled behind her lips like smoke behind mirrors. And the minute Serena agreed to perform, my gut coiled so tightly I could barely breathe.I told myself I’d stay close and sharp. I wasn’t here to play dress-up or enjoy the celebration.I was here to guard what was mine.People flocked toward me the moment I arrived. Warriors, Alphas, dignitaries. A few even offered me the front row seat, center of attention. But I waved them off. I didn’t care about politics. I needed my eyes on the stage. On her alone. And sh

Serena’s POVI was ushered into the dressing room almost immediately by one of the event assistants. She was polite—too polite, in fact—and kept her eyes down when she spoke to me.“We’re honored to have you grace the Alpha’s celebration, Luna Serena,” she murmured, not quite meeting my gaze.I forced a tight smile. Honored? Please. If there was anyone honored tonight, it was me for getting to do the only thing that ever set my soul on fireDance. But that word… Luna. It always landed like a punch to the ribs. Not because I wasn’t proud to be Damien’s—but because the pack still saw me as nothing more than a scandal dressed in heels.Still, tonight was mine. I wouldn’t let anyone take that from me.I changed into my performance costume—a shimmering, deep red gown stitched with black crystal vines that caught every flicker of light. My midriff was bare, my skirt slit dangerously high, and my body glowed from the oils rubbed into my skin. But then… things started to feel off.I walked

Serena’s POVI woke up to light seeping through the tall windows, yet everything inside me felt… dim, Heavy and Sad.There was no exact reason and nothing I could point to and scream “this”—but it was there, pressing down on my chest like a second skin I couldn't peel off.And yet, I moved, breathed and got dressed getting ready for a mini chaos that might happen because despite the heartache and confusion brewing inside me, Alpha Magnus asked for me again.I didn’t want to feel something flutter in my chest when I heard it. But I did because tell me why a man who wanted me dead was now acting nice by requesting for my presence and acting like a good father in law. I walked through the corridors barefoot with my hair loose, my hands brushing against the cool stone as I moved silently like a ghost..My mother's presence was like smoke under a locked door, unwelcome and unavoidable. I knew she hadn’t come here just to “check on me.” She was up to something. She always was but I wouldn’

Damien’s POVShe smiled at me instead and shrugged as if that was a very useless question.“It doesn't matter Damien, just do the needful and let her appear at the festival.” “That's fucking bullshit Lilith, don't think you can use your stupid powers to intimidate someone like me.” I spat out and walked past her , not ready for her bullshit.“She has to come Damien, it's not up for arguement.”“I told you,” I growled through clenched teeth, my voice as cold as ice, “my mate isn’t attending that damn Dance Festival no matter how talented she is. End of discussion.”Lilith just stared at me, that sickly sweet smirk curving her lips like she already won. The moonlight glinted off her pale skin, her eyes glowing like an omen. “You have to make her go, Damien,” she said calmly, like she wasn’t about to set my whole world on fire. “Whether you like it or not, she must be there.”I paused. That tone in her voice… The demand. The way she said it with so much conviction. My instincts flared a

Damien’s POV“I told you,” I growled through clenched teeth, my voice as cold as ice, “my mate isn’t attending that damn Dance Festival no matter how talented she is and that's a fucking end of discussion.”Lilith just stared at me, that sickly sweet smirk curving her lips like she already won. . “You have to make her go, Damien,” she said calmly, like she wasn’t about to set my whole world on fire. “Whether you like it or not, she must be there.”I paused at that tone in her voice… The demand. The way she said it with so much conviction that my instincts flared and my wolf shifted inside me like he could smell something I hadn’t yet. My chest tightened and a slow, cold shiver crept down my spine.“What game are you playing at?” I hissed, stepping forward. “You think you can waltz back into my life with your cryptic threats? You think I won’t end you?”She took a step closer, and I didn’t move. Her gaze dropped to my bare chest, then lower. I caught her scent again—rotten magic and I

Damien’s POVI felt guilty and I hated it.It was not the kind of hate that simmers quietly. It was the kind that burns inside your gut like a goddamn inferno and eats you alive because you know you’re the one who lit the match. I had watched Serena’s eyes glaze over with silent disappointment, her lips pressing into a line, her shoulders sinking just a little. She didn’t say much after I told her she wasn’t going to the Blue Blood Pack’s Dance Ball. She didn’t have to.The silence screamed it louder than any curse she could throw at me.Still, I didn’t take it back.Because this wasn’t just some event, some harmless dance performance to celebrate alliances between Packs. This was Blue Blood territory. Borders that sat right at the edge of Vampire domains. That place wasn’t neutral no matter how much they claimed it was. It was a battlefield with glitter dust and a red carpet. And my Luna—my mate, my power-linked heart—was not going to prance into enemy territory in a sheer dress just

  • Four times Rejected, Claimed by Mafia Stepbrother    Chapter 91

Serena's POVIf there was anyone more disappointed to see Damien’s mother inside this mansion, it wasn’t Damien….it was me.Not that I showed it. He was already doing a damn good job letting her know just how unwanted she was. His tone, his glare, the way his jaw tightened like he was holding back a storm.... everything screamed rage and disgust. But me? I stayed quiet and observant. I was careful too because if I opened my mouth, I might’ve just added more fuel to the already blazing fire.I was walking down the hallway, my shoes echoing softly against the marble floor when I felt his presence before I saw him. Damien stepped out of the corridor like a shadow sliding into place, his shirt rolled up, revealing those forearms that could convince any woman to sin. But this wasn’t about lust now.He noticed the tension in my shoulders before I could say a word.“You look like you just ran into a ghost,” he said, eyes scanning my face.I huffed, giving him a sidelong glance. “I ran into

Damien’s POVI didn’t want to hear any of it.Not her apology, her sorrow or her excuse for vanishing when I needed her the most. Vivian standing in my mansion was enough to churn the bile in my gut. And the second she opened her mouth, every muscle in my body tensed with disgust.“I know what I did was wrong, Damien,” she started, voice soft like that could fix the wreckage she left behind. “I live with that guilt—every single day.”I tilted my head slightly, watching her like a predator sizing up prey. “Good. I hope it eats you alive.”She flinched, but I wasn’t in the mood for mercy. That ship sailed when I was eight, choking on blood and fire in a burning warehouse while she ran off with her new coven like I never existed.“I didn’t come here to fight with you,” she murmured.“No? Then what did you come here for? A hug?” I scoffed. “Or are you here to tell me what a fucking disgrace I am for not rolling over and dying like Vincent hoped I would?”Her expression hardened. “I came
