As Dominic stepped out of the elevator onto the ground floor, his phone jolted to life. He pulled it out, his brow furrowing at the sight of Rosie's name on the screen.

"What's she calling for?" He wondered, recalling the tension-filled afternoon and her abrupt departure from the office. She was still furious with him, and he'd expected her to keep her distance. But before the call could ring out, he answered, and her panicked voice crackled through the line, her words tumbling out in a frantic stammer.

"Help me, Dominic…"

The desperation in her tone sent a jolt through him.

"I think someone broke in. He; " Rosie's words were severed mid-sentence as the call abruptly cut off.

His eyes widened, his face tightening with concern. "What...what's wrong?" He muttered, his voice barely above a whisper. His lips trembled, and his hands shook as he hastily redialed her number, but the call went straight to voicemail.

"Pick up, please…" He urged, his voice laced with desperation as he tried her number again. But she still didn't answer, and the call went to voicemail once more.

With a surge of adrenaline, he shoved his phone into his pocket and quickened his pace, his long strides eating up the distance to the parking lot. He yanked open the car door and slid inside, his chest heaving as he panted.

He started the engine and stepped down on the accelerator, the tires screeching as he sped out of the company's parking lot. "What's going on?"

"Come on!" Dominic growled, grinding his teeth as he leaned on the horn, the blaring sound echoing through the air.

"Move!" He yelled at the slowpoke in front of him, his frustration boiling over. He spotted a gap in the next lane and swooped into it, cutting off another driver.

As he approached the intersection, he groaned in dismay, spotting the red light ahead. "No, no, no!" He gunned the engine, ignoring the signal and speeding through the intersection, the rush of adrenaline fueling his reckless drive.

Rosie's terrified voice still lingered in his mind, fueling his desperation to reach her. He yearned to sprout wings and fly to her side. But reality cruelly denied him that power, leaving him to rely on his car. So he drove like a madman, weaving through traffic with a daredevil's abandon.

The risk of an accident barely registered in his mind; all that mattered was getting home, getting to Rosie. Skidding tires, blaring horns, and screeching brakes accompanied his frantic journey, his sole focus fixed on reaching her before it was too late.

As he turned onto his street, the darkness seemed to swallow everything whole. He parked his car a few houses down, not wanting to alert whoever might be inside.

With a calculated stealth, he approached the house, easing open the gate with barely a whisper. He slipped off his shoes and padded silently toward the window, his eyes scanning the living room. The flickering light cast eerie shadows, making it hard to see clearly. He bit his lip, his hands curling into fists at his waist.

"What now?"

He entered the parlor. A sliver of light from Rosie's room beckoned him, and he fumbled for his phone, turning on its flashlight. With bated breath, he crept toward her room. At the door, he paused, his heart racing as he steeled himself for what he might find.

He exhaled sharply and burst into the room. "Who's there!" He said, ready for a fight. But the room was empty. His gaze landed on Rosie, lying motionless on the floor beside the bed. His voice dropped to a worried whisper.

"Rosie."

He rushed to her side, kneeling beside her. A scarf gagged her mouth, and a thick rope bound her hands behind her back. She lay unconscious, her body limp. He put his phone aside and gently lifted her head, cradling it in his lap.

He yanked the scarf from her mouth and swiftly untied the rope binding her wrists. "Rosie!" He called out, trying to rouse her. But his voice was interrupted by a deep, masculine voice from the doorway.

"Are you; " the words died on the man's lips as he spotted Dominic. In a flash, he turned and sprinted out of the room.

Dominic gently laid Rosie down and took off after him. His leg nearly betrayed him on the slick floor, but he managed to keep his balance. He burst into the parlor, scanning the room frantically, but the man was nowhere to be seen.

His eyes narrowed, suspecting the intruder might be hiding behind the curtain. He crept toward it, his senses on high alert.

The man came from behind the curtain, his arms wrapping around Dominic's neck in a vicious chokehold. Dominic struggled to break free, his hands clawing at the man's arms as he gasped for air.

"I'm someone you shouldn't have seen!" He snarled, his hot breath on Dominic's ear.

As Rosie stepped out of the elevator, she nearly collided with Hannah. "Where's Dominic?" She asked, her brow furrowed with concern. "Have you seen him today?" Hannah shook her head. "No, ma'am." Rosie's questions came rapid-fire. "What's his schedule for today? Did he have a meeting I don't know about?" Hannah shook her head again. "Not that I know of, ma'am." "And he didn't call to tell you about his plans? Maybe an emergency came up or someone needed his attention urgently?" Rosie pressed on, her worry growing. Hannah's response was prompt. "No, he didn't." Rosie's concern deepened. "Where could he have rushed off to?" She wondered aloud. She hadn't been awake when Dominic left the house in a hurry early that morning, and now she was starting to feel a sense of unease. She had assumed Dominic had left for an emergency, expecting to meet him at the office, but it had been over three hours since she'd arrived, and he was still nowhere to be seen. Reginald's words kept echoing in Dominic's mind as he left his office and got into his car, driving back home, lost in thought. His concern for Rosie's well-being weighed heavily on him, and a part of his mind cautioned against going through with the plan he had carefully laid out with Reginald. As he pondered the future and questioned Rosie's feelings for him, the darker side of his mind seemed to gain the upper hand, urging him to push forward. His frustration boiled over, and he vented his anger on the clutch pedal, pushing it harder than necessary. The steering wheel jerked in his hands, and the car surged forward, picking up speed as it hurtled down the main road.He slammed on the brakes, but it didn't respond. His eyes widened in terror, his mouth hanging open as he watched helplessly as his car hurtled towards an oncoming truck, speeding down the road. In a last-ditch effort, he tried the brake again, and to his surprise, it suddenly kicked in. The car screeched to a halt m

Phoebe's eyes widened, her voice barely above a whisper. "Hun?" Archie nodded, his gaze piercing hers. "Yes." He confirmed, his tone confident and unwavering. "You asked if I still have feelings for Rosie, right?" Phoebe was frozen in shock, unable to respond. She fixated on his lips, watching as the words cut deep into her soul. "This should answer your question and clear your doubt..." Archie said, his words hung in the air like a challenge to her. "Yes. I still have feelings for Rosie. My feelings for her haven't changed," He pressed his hand to the left side of his chest. "Rosie has a special place in my heart, and she owns it to this day. No one, not even you, can take her place...""Your place ranks lower, and you're nowhere near her abode in my heart." He declared. With that, he turned to the door, his back to Phoebe as if emphasizing the finality of his words."Do you think she'll accept you back after everything that happened?" Phoebe asked, her question making him glance

She climbed out of the car and stormed towards the house, her anger evident in every step. Arabella emerged from the house, a welcoming smile spreading across her face as she caught sight of Phoebe's approach. "How–" she began, attempting to initiate a conversation as Phoebe drew near, but Phoebe brushed past her without a word. "What's wrong with her?" She muttered. She shrugged her shoulders in indifference. "Her problem." She said, before turning to walk towards her car in the parking lot. Meanwhile, Phoebe's voice echoed through the house. "Archie!" She called out, her tone shrill with urgency. She flung her bag onto the sofa and stormed upstairs, her footsteps heavy with ange

Dominic pulled into the Maximo company parking lot, his arrival drawing attention from the employees on the ground floor. They paused their activities, watching as he strode confidently past them and into the elevator. As the doors slid open on the fourth floor, Esther emerged from Reginald's office to greet him. "Good day, sir," she said with a slight bow, her voice respectful. He approached, his stride purposeful, and nodded slightly in response. "Good day," he replied. "I'm here to see the chairman.""He's inside, waiting for you," she said with a warm smile, gesturing over her shoulder with her thumb. "Let's go in.""Okay" Dominic replied, following Esther into the chairman's office. As they approached the door, she opened it for him, allowing him to enter first. He nodded his head slightly in appreciation. "Thank you," he said, stepping inside. As he entered the office, Reginald looked up from the file on his desk, closing it with a deliberate motion. "Welcome, Dominic," Reg

A week later~Rosie stepped into the salon, and a staff member greeted her with a warm smile and a bowed head. "Welcome to hair paradise, ma'am!""I'm looking to restyle my hair." Rosie informed. The staff member's smile broadened. "You're in the right place!" She gestured to the side, making room for Rosie, and curtsied slightly, extending her right hand. "This way, ma'am."Rosie nodded and followed her into the salon. As she entered the VIP room, she caught Phoebe's reflection in the mirror, her back turned to Rosie. She spun around to leave. "I think I'll have to come back later." She said. The accompanying staff member looked concerned. "Is everything okay, ma'am?"Phoebe had already spotted Rosie in the mirror and was waiting for her to approach. But when Rosie turned to leave, she quickly turned around, a smile spreading across her face. "Look who we have here!" Rosie sighed, ignoring Phoebe, and turned to the staff member. "I'll wait outside until you're done with her." She
