“Kai!” Ellyse squirmed when he pulled her waist.

“Five minutes,” He whispered. They were swimming in the pool for more than an hour now and her phone kept ringing nonstop.

“Someone’s calling me!” She giggled, her hand resting on his arms that are around her waist.

“That can wait, we’re on a vacation,” He groaned, pulling her away from the edge of the pool and to the middle of the water. Kai knew that swimming wasn’t her strongest suit.

“What if it’s my mom?” She pouts, turning around to face him this time.

Her arms were now circled around his neck, “It can wait,” He planted a soft kiss on her lips, she couldn’t help but smile.

“It can’t,” She chuckled, a part of her didn’t want to leave yet but she knew she had to take that call.

Ellyse felt somewhat guilty for what had transpired last night. Yes, she was at fault for missing their wedding anniversary celebration. She agreed to Kai and she didn’t even inform him about her not being able to come. However, if Riden had asked her for dinner and she didn’t forget about the celebration, she would’ve declined him immediately. She woke up with such a heavy heart. She kept staring at the ceiling, pondering and debating if whether or not she should call him or text him to apologize. What happened last night between the three of them was a result of constant stress and anxiety. Kai was probably frustrated, and knowing that she was with Riden made him even more mad. Ellyse felt guilty, but she didn’t like the way he spoke to her. And Riden was probably just trying to help her. Either way, what she did was still wrong. She forced herself out of the bed to cook breakfast for her

“Yes, but it’s not his fault. I forgot about it, alright?” Ellyse said loudly, half-shouting for her point to come through.Kai didn’t know how to react or what to say. His lips stretched into a firm line before his gaze drifted to Riden who’s standing behind her.“You forgot about it?” He repeated, this time he sounded doubtful.“Yes! Look, I’m really sorry-““I waited for you, Ellyse. We waited for you,” He took a step forward and she felt even more guilty than earlier.“What is it with this whole wedding anniversary thing anyway, Kai? Aren’t you divorced?” Riden, who was silent before suddenly spoke, taking both of their attentions.“You don’t get to have a say in this, Riden,” Kai spat back, his voice thick and domineering. She gulped, “I’ll explain to Victoria and George everything, don’t worry about it,” She stood in between the two of them.Kai looked at her and smirked sarcastically, “Where were you

"This feels like a date," Ellyse couldn't help but comment. The restaurant screamed opulence and extravagance. Majority of the people dining inside were dressed formally, there's a live orchestra playing at the middle of the resto, making the whole atmosphere even more grand.Riden chuckled, looking down at his plate to avoid her gaze. "Well, you can interpret this however you'd like," She froze. They're currently being served their second course which is a deconstructed salmon salad."What do you mean?" Ellyse felt confused, she didn't know what to take from his remark. Was that his way of telling her that it is a date? His gaze stayed on her for a few minutes before he shook his head, "This is to thank you, Ellyse," He said meaningfully."Yes, and thank you too...for giving me an opportunity to work with you, and get to know you," She smiled at him and he nodded."So please, let's enjoy this. You don't have to think o

“Tomorrow is our wedding anniversary and my parents want to throw an intimate celebration with us,” Kai was supposed to leave Ellyse’s house when he suddenly informed her about their upcoming so-called ‘wedding anniversary.’ “I’ll come, just text me,” She stated coldly while holding the door for him. His gaze on her stayed for a few seconds before he sighed, “Alright,” he nodded before finally leaving. The rain calmed and Ellyse has been itching to be left alone. Having him around didn’t seem to help her in any way, it is actually the total opposite. She feels as if her feelings would overflow whenever he’s around. Especially when they talk about what happened between them before. She spent the night pondering about her relationship with him and how far they’ve come. She wa

Ellyse and Kai went inside one of the private rooms of the event. This was a VIP room that can only be acquired if you’re a crucial member to the organization. Their lips moved against eachother, not wanting to part. His arms snaked on the small of her back, touching her in a way that ignited her body. Ellyse’s arms were on both of his cheeks, cupping them as she deepens the kiss. Kai removed his coat while kissing her before throwing it somewhere on the floor. Both of them were hungry for eachother. His tongue snaked into her mouth, devouring every inch of her. Her breathing hitched and became heavier with every second that passes. His hand moved from her back to her neck before he instinctively pushed her back against the frame of the door. She raked his hair, pulling its strands while he worked on und

“Oh my God!” She covered her head as soon as they left Kai’s car to run to her house. However, what shocked her was when Kai instinctively covered her head with his palm. The gesture shocked her but she kept walking until they reached her door. She started fishing her keys out of her bag while he watched her. When she successfully got them, she unlocked her door. Kai followed behind her and closed the door. She placed the keys on the coffee table of her living room before putting her bag on the console table. “Make yourself comfortable,” She told him while going to the kitchen. He didn’t answer her. She opened the cabinets where her meds were stored in. There she saw her vitamins for her pregnancy, she immediately closed it shut, afraid that Kai might come in the kitchen and see it. She poured a glass of wat
