Mag-log inEllyse Kennedy and Kai Laurent have been married for six years. During those years, their marriage was spent apart with Kai being on business trips and Elleyse caring for their child at home. It was an arranged, loveless marriage and Ellyse has had enough. The moment she finds out that her husband was meeting with his ex girlfriend after finding out that she was pregnant again, her desire to file for divorce ignited. When Kai went home to find divorce papers sitting on top of his desk with his wife’s signature, he demanded her to come home. “Divorce? Have you lost your mind?” Kai says with emphasis on each word, confusion dripping from his eyes. It was the very first time Ellyse saw her husband show any emotions after six years.

Ever since finding out that she’s pregnant, she cannot keep it to herself any longer. She’s been itching to tell him as soon as possible. “Like right now?” He responded from the other line. “Yes…are you busy?” She croaked. There was a long line of silence before she heard him sniff, “Well, I can’t see you right now because I have an important meeting planned ahead,” He responded indignantly. Her eyebrows twitched, “Oh, is that so? How about later tonight?” She cannot believe that she’s the one finding ways for them to see eachother. “Why not say it now while we’re on call?” He asked. She bit her lower lip, she couldn’t say something as big as her pregnancy over a phone call, it felt wrong. She wanted to see his reaction, she wante
“Claire, we’re going to move back to mom’s house. Is that alright with you?” The tension inside the dining room was heavy as they ate dinner together as a family. Kai was eating silently, watching his food and not even sparing Ellyse a glance. It was almost as if he wasn’t surprised that she brought that up to Claire. “Is daddy coming with us?” The innocent girl croaked. He stopped fiddling with his utensils and lifted his head to look at Claire, then his eyes moved to her. “No, Claire. I have to take care of your grandma,” He stated before going back to eating. Meanwhile, she felt relieved that he answered for her. Obviously, she didn’t inform him about her plan to move out with Claire. Mentioning it on the dinner table was her way of informing him, after all—he’s still the father of her child. “Then I’ll take care of grandma too!” Claire said merrily.
Ellyse and Kai went home after finding out that Victoria was okay. George was very civil with them, it seems like he wasn’t ready to speak to them to address what had happened earlier. So they just let him be. “Where’s Claire?” She asked as soon as they entered the house. “She’s already asleep in her room, ma’am,” One of their maids answered. She nodded, while he unbuttoned the top part of his long sleeve shirt. Then, he proceeded to walk upstairs without saying a word to her. She felt his need for space so she didn’t bother asking him anything. Instead, she went to Claire’s room to check on her. She was already fast asleep on her bed. Gone her sofia the first dress and replaced with her usual pajamas. She sat on her bed, touching the necklace she gave her around her neck. She smiled before sniffing. Ellyse recalled what happened earlier a
“I still love you, Kai,” Ellyse says with utmost honesty. Kai’s eyes widened in shock and she saw how much he wasn’t expecting that answer from her. He was probably anticipating for her to say the complete opposite. “We were together for six years, of course I love you. But I don’t love you the same way anymore. I no longer feel the need to constantly show you that I am worthy to be loved too.” “So yes, I still love you and I will probably always will,” He was left speechless, he didn’t know what to say. He is well aware of how much damage he’s caused her life and yet she was still there for him. Even after the divorce. He never felt like he was alone in everything because she was always there. And yet he’s sure that she has always felt alone in their marriage. “I’m sorry, Ellyse,” He looked away, putting the heel of his wrist over his eyes.
