Chapter 1

The day Titus Holt announced he would take us back with him, I was packing my luggage.

He walked into the room, casually glanced at my luggage, and commented with a frown, "The Riso family is a noble household. They have everything. If you need something, you can buy it when we get back."

My hand paused. The precious items that were fiercely fought over in the slums were now just a pile of junk in the eyes of my husband, who had been reclaimed by a noble family.

However, I had no intention of going back to Napple with him. These were all the belongings I was taking to Swizor. I was about to tell Titus that I would not go back with him, but I was interrupted by Melissa Gunther.

"Titus, I..." Melissa jogged over, her eyes slightly red and her voice choked. "I really... don't know how to thank you. I've suffered so much in these slums. I never thought I would be so lucky to have you take me to such a wonderful place. You've given me a new life!"

She looked up, pretending to just notice my presence and deliberately hiding her hand with a bracelet behind her back. "Noelle, this is the only memento my grandmother left me. I can't give it to you. I'll give you all the money. Please don't take my bracelet anymore!"

Titus immediately interrupted her, "Alright, we can have all the good things when we get back. I'll buy her something better. Don't mention this again."

If I had not experienced my past life, I would have thought this was Titus protecting me. However, I knew he never truly believed me. He suppressed everything only to prevent his son's birth mother from bearing this unpleasant stigma.

I suppressed the bitterness in my heart and looked directly into Titus' eyes, saying, "I didn't steal the bracelet. Do you believe me?"

Titus paused and replied with a gentle expression, "No one blames you. It's all in the past. Let's pretend nothing happened! We're leaving the day after tomorrow. Don't waste your energy on unimportant things."

He did not blame me, but he had never believed me either. I never escaped the stigma of being a thief.

When we returned to Riso Manor in my past life, the servants were outwardly respectful, but they all disdainfully called me Madame Thief behind my back.

By the time I found out, the nickname 'Madame Thief' had already spread far and wide.

I sobbed as I asked Titus to clear my name, but he flew into a rage and immediately banished all the gossiping servants from the manor.

His actions did nothing to repair my reputation; instead, they made the elders of the Riso family dissatisfied with me.

I insisted on thoroughly investigating the source of the rumors, but Titus stopped me with a sigh. "Listen to me, Noelle. Now is really not the time to pursue this. I've only just got back and haven't even settled in yet. Many people in the family are watching me, waiting for me to make a mistake."

He paused before adding solemnly, "Making a big fuss over something unclear will only make us seem like we're making a mountain out of a molehill."

I questioned him in disbelief, "Making a mountain out of a molehill? Doesn't my innocence matter at all?"

Titus interrupted me irritably, his tone firm. "Enough, Noelle! I told you that this matter ends here. What's the point of investigating further besides adding to the trouble and implicating innocent people? Please stop causing trouble for the sake of this family's peace, okay? Melissa finally adapted to the environment here; she can't withstand a second wave of trouble!"

Titus' words were like a sharp knife, piercing me deeply. He would rather wrong me than let Melissa, the culprit, be affected in the slightest. Melissa's reputation was more important than my life.

Since I could do it all over again, I decided not to go back with my husband and son. I would go far away and let them have their happily ever after.

After leaving Napple, I arrived in Zorio, Swizor and began a brand new life here.I met a kind baker, Danny Lerman. When I was in the slums, I always baked bread for Christian. I had basic knowledge of it and was quite talented in baking. After learning from Danny for a short while, I completed my apprenticeship.I opened a small bakery with my own efforts.Staying at the bakery every day and smelling the sweet aroma of the bread, my life was peaceful and stable. There was no suspicion or resentment. This was a life I never dared to imagine. One day, I was busy packing bread for my customers when a familiar and hoarse voice rang out. "Can you make me some buns?"It was Titus, with a tired face and bloodshot eyes. He hurried toward me, his voice hoarse and full of affection. "Noelle, I'm sorry. I have seen through Melissa's true colors and sorted out all the matters. Would you go back with me? I'll give you the very best of everything. He paused, tears flowing uncontrollably. "An

After Melissa was confined to the manor, her temper became increasingly irritable. She would lash out at the housekeepers at the slightest provocation, and smashing things was a common occurrence for her.The housekeepers often gathered together to complain."This lazy woman orders us around all day long!""The Don has grown tired of her. I think it won't be long before she's kicked out!""I heard Donna is gentle and kind. I really hope she can come back soon."These remarks reached Melissa's ears without any omission. She trembled with anger as strong resentment grew in her heart. She hated Titus' cold-heartedness, and she hated even more that I would threaten her position if I returned.Since Titus no longer cared about their old bond, there was no need for her to show mercy.Melissa privately contacted Titus' cousin, Adachi Riso. Adachi had long coveted the position of Don; the two of them hit it off immediately and began to secretly collude.Melissa was responsible for deli

Fred received Titus' order and immediately set off for the slums. He searched the slums thoroughly and asked the neighbors nearby, but could not find any trace of me.Unable to delay any longer, he rushed back to Riso Manor that night and reported to Titus immediately, "Don Riso, there's no trace of the Donna in the slum. I checked her immigration records. She went to Swizor the night before you returned to Napple.""Swizor?" Titus staggered a step backward, his face filled with disbelief. Even his voice was trembling. "What is she doing in Swizor? Look into it and find out her exact location in Swizor. I want to see her and ask her in person!"Fred looked troubled and replied in a whisper, "Don Riso, the Donna seems to have deliberately hidden her whereabouts. We only found out she went to Swizor so far. We'll need time to find out the exact address."Titus waved his hand, and Fred silently left.Titus was alone in the study. His heart felt like it was tightly grasped by a hand,

After Melissa returned from the hospital, she could not feel at peace. She was determined to become Titus' woman as soon as possible and completely take over as Donna. That night, Titus was handling affairs in the study while Melissa, wearing a sexy nightgown, walked in holding a glass of red wine. "Titus, you've had a long day. Have a drink to relax."Titus took the glass and took a few sips. Not long after, he felt himself burning and dizzy. It was like there was a burning sensation in his body. He looked up at Melissa, his eyes filled with shock and anger.Melissa slowly approached him before adding gently, "Titus, I know you've been very tired recently. I'll stay with you all night."Her fingertips gently brushed against his chest before she began to unbutton his shirt, her tone coquettish yet urgent. "Haven't you always loved me? Leave Noelle, and we'll get married, okay?"Titus shoved her aside, supporting himself to stand up with the table. His face was ashen. "Melissa, don

As expected, under Titus' unrestrained indulgence, Melissa spent her days either shopping or at the beauty salon. She no longer fawned over Christian or revolved around him as she used to.Back in the rental house, I had taken meticulous care of Christian. Now that they had moved into Riso Manor, Christian was having a hard time. He was constantly in a bad mood and looked glum all day long.Titus was occupied with the Riso family's affairs all day, often leaving early and returning late. He had no time for Christian. The housekeepers in the manor only followed the rules and had no idea about his preferences. One night, Christian suddenly felt feverish and was tossing and turning in bed, feeling extremely uncomfortable. He struggled to get up for help, but the housekeeper on duty outside the door was nowhere to be found. He forced himself to call Melissa, but no one answered after it rang for a long time.Melissa was busy attending a high-society dinner and did not notice his distre

The Riso family's motorcade sped along, and soon, they arrived at the heavily guarded Riso Manor. As soon as they reached the entrance, the core family members were already waiting there, warmly welcoming Titus' return. The butler saw Titus and immediately walked forward, respectfully saying, "Sir, the Don is waiting for you upstairs. Please follow me."Titus nodded and followed the butler upstairs. Pushing open the heavy door, he saw a frail old man lying on a massive bed. The old man's complexion was pale, but his eyes were still sharp. He was the current Don of the Riso family—Arnod Riso."My son, come here." Arnod beckoned to Titus, his voice weak yet authoritative.Titus walked to the bed and looked at his unfamiliar father, unable to put his finger on how he felt.Seeing Titus, Arnod's eyes immediately reddened as he struggled to sit up. His voice was weak and full of remorse. "My son, I did you wrong. You've suffered so much out there all these years."Titus felt a pang
