Chapter 6

Author: Maroon Cypress
"Let me ask you one last question," I said. "When Bosco first opened, not a single guest had arrived. Who, using all their personal connections, brought the city's elite to stand by your side and create the first impression of Bosco?"

Nick finally lowered his head, his shoulders trembling violently, unable to meet my eyes.

Tina's face drained of color, the blood slowly retreating as sheer panic gripped her throat.

"No… impossible…" she muttered, clinging to the last threads of denial.

I ignored her entirely and turned to Niall.

"Have the audit results come in?"

He nodded, tilting the tablet toward everyone.

The screen displayed a report that made the room's air feel heavy and suffocating.

"Following a preliminary review, the Azeal City branch of Bosco, under the management of Tina Jordan, has committed the following serious violations.

"First, she unilaterally replaced the headquarters-approved French royal fragrance supplier with cheap domestic alternatives, pocketing roughly

Nick's repentance wasn't born of a genuine understanding of his mistakes. It was because he was terrified of losing everything he had now.I pulled my leg away from his arms, forcing myself free."Nick, the moment you watched her humiliate me and chose to do nothing, whatever existed between us ended. I'll take this club back. But not under your name. Under Bosco's.""As for you," I said, meeting his devastated eyes, "tomorrow morning, someone will take you to the quiet rehabilitation center on the outskirts of the city. I'll have people clean up that old house your parents left you. From now on, you'll have to take care of yourself."With that, I walked away without looking back.Behind me came Nick's broken cries, and Tina gasping on the floor like a dying stray. The crystal chandeliers in the club still glittered, but what they illuminated now was nothing more than the ruins of a party long over.Outside the doors, the night wind was cool. I looked up at the sky. A thin cloud

"My grandfather was the founder of the Keller Group and the creator of the Bosco brand," I said, my gaze sweeping across the club."The Bosco brand isn't just a club brand. It is the culmination of his life's work and pride, the most precious legacy he left for the next generation."On his deathbed, he entrusted me with ownership of the Bosco brand and all associated enterprises. He had one condition: that I would carry Bosco forward, and never let it be tarnished."I paused a while, letting my eyes settle on Nick."When your parents died unexpectedly, leaving you alone in the world, it was I who took you in. I pleaded with my grandfather to make an exception and grant you a Bosco brand license, so you could open this club and have a foundation to stand on."What I gave you, Nick, was not a business."What I gave you was my grandfather's expectations, the honor of the Keller family, and my final, heaviest measure of kinship toward you."I thought you would understand. I thought

"Mr. Elton," Niall said, "please confirm: were these charges authorized by you, and do they comply with Bosco's brand regulations?"Nick's lips trembled, but no words came out. He looked at me with eyes full of pleading and regret.Seeing him stay silent, Tina panicked. She grabbed his arm and shook him violently."Nick! Speak! Tell them it was with your permission, to protect the club's interests!"Her voice had taken on a frenzied hysteria.I watched the farce unfold in silence, my mind utterly calm. From the moment I made that call, Tina's fate had already been sealed.Niall, seeing Nick remain mute, didn't wait any longer."Since Mr. Elton cannot confirm, we will proceed according to protocol."He gestured backward, and the compliance officers sprang into action. Two moved to the front desk, taking over the computers and pulling data from the system. Two others went to the finance office, ordering all paper accounts to be sealed. And two more began using professional equ

They all wore a delicate silver badge on their chests—a cloud motif, lofty and untouchable. This was the Brand Compliance Department of Bosco headquarters. At the front stood a man with gold-rimmed glasses, radiating efficiency and authority. I knew him well—Niall Wendell, the brand director I had personally promoted. He approached me and gave a slight bow. "Mr. Keller."Then he straightened, his gaze cold and sharp as it swept across the hall, finally landing on Tina and the two boxes she was holding."By Mr. Keller's instructions, the Bosco Brand Compliance Department will immediately conduct a surprise inspection of the Azeal City's Bosco branch."His voice carried clearly across the entire hall."Until the inspection concludes, all accounts are to be sealed, all personnel appointments suspended, and all large financial transactions frozen."Tina's smile froze midair."Who are you people? Who gave you this authority?" she barked, her voice loud but tinged with panic.Niall

Tina's smug, self-satisfied look made my skin crawl.I ignored her and turned to my guests, offering an apologetic smile."Everyone, I'm terribly sorry for the spectacle tonight. Let me take care of all tonight's expenses. Also, I have a hot spring villa on the outskirts of the city. Next weekend, please come by and relax. Consider it my way of making amends."These were sharp, discerning people. They immediately understood that I was reclaiming face while subtly asserting my power. They all accepted politely, and the atmosphere eased noticeably. After seeing my friends off, the hall was left with just me, Nick, and Tina, still hunched over her cash-counting.Nick finally lost his restraint and came over, taking my hand."Jeff, don't do this. Let's go home and talk, okay? Don't be mad at me."I pulled my hand away and looked at his face, a face that suddenly felt utterly alien."Nick, the moment you let her humiliate me in public, you should have realized—we're never going back
