Chapter 2

Autor: Beloved Farewell
The moment Daniel realized I was actually going to call the police, he completely lost it.

"You seriously think you can call the cops on me? I'll teach you a lesson you'll never forget."

In a fit of rage, he snatched up a can of Starlight Chameleon Paint from a nearby table. It had just been delivered and hadn't yet been put away. Before anyone could stop him, he twisted off the lid and dumped the entire thing over my head. The thick automotive paint splattered across my face, soaked through my white shirt, and dripped from the hem onto the floor.

I wiped the paint from my face with one hand, then calmly picked up the POS terminal from the nearby counter.

"This is Starlight Chameleon Paint, a specialty finish that headquarters just had flown in from overseas. It costs 1,000 dollars per gram. Each can contains 600 grams, bringing the total to exactly 600,000 dollars."

I held out the payment terminal and gave him a cool look.

"Add that to the cost of all the free meals you've been eating here, and tell me, how do you plan to pay for the damage you've caused?"

Daniel froze for a moment before exploding in outrage.

"Quit trying to scam me! 600,000 dollars for a can of crappy paint? What is this, a robbery? Why don't you just hold up a bank while you're at it?"

He threw his head back and shouted toward the offices on the second floor. "Lily! Hey, Lily! Get down here! Your employee is bullying me!"

Moments later, Lily Collins, the dealership's sales director, came striding down the stairs in her high heels. The instant Daniel spotted her, he hurried over and pointed an accusing finger at me, eager to tell his side of the story first.

"Lily, this guy's been giving me attitude, and now he's trying to scam me out of 600,000 dollars for a can of cheap paint!"

Lily didn't even bother asking what had happened. She marched straight up to me and slapped me across the face.

"What the hell is wrong with you? Is this how you treat our customers? Who taught you to behave like this?"

I touched my stinging cheek and pointed to the paint still dripping from my clothes, giving her one last chance to do the right thing.

"Ms. Collins, he's the one who attacked me first. He dumped an entire can of Starlight Chameleon Paint over my head."

"Excuse me? Starlight Chameleon Paint?" Lily interrupted, her tone dripping with disbelief.

She glanced at the empty can on the floor, then looked back at me with open contempt.

"That's nothing but cheap leftover stock from the warehouse that nobody wanted! And now you're trying to extort a customer over that garbage? Are you so desperate for money that you've completely lost your mind?"

She refused to hear another word. Grabbing me by the collar, she dragged me over to Daniel, then pressed both hands against the back of my head and forced me to bow to him.

"Enough with the excuses! Apologize to my cousin right now! Your behavior has seriously frightened him, and you owe him and his family 50,000 dollars in emotional distress compensation."

Then she drew back her foot as if she were about to kick me in the knee. "If you don't apologize and pay up, you're fired! Get out of this dealership today."

I pretended to be terrified and stumbled backward a few steps, putting on my most pitiful expression.

"Please don't fire me! I know I was wrong. I'm sorry! Please, don't make me leave. I'll pay the 50,000 dollars you asked for. Could you just deduct it from my monthly salary a little at a time?"

Still playing the part of a frightened employee, I crouched down and quietly took off my jacket.

Seeing me finally back down, Daniel burst into triumphant laughter. "Haha! Lily, look at this guy! He was acting all high and mighty a minute ago, and now he's begging like a beggar."

He swaggered over and viciously kicked me in the shin. "Why didn't you do that from the start? You had to get slapped around before you learned your place, huh? Weren't you going to call the cops just now? Go ahead! Make the damn call!"

His mother, who had been watching from the sidelines, immediately chimed in, "Exactly! You're nothing but a lousy service worker, and you think you can order my son around? Lily, people like him need to be taught a lesson! He needs to learn his place."

Lily let out a cold snort and looked down at me with undisguised contempt. "Since you've admitted you were wrong, you'll just have to accept the consequences."

"They mooched free meals, destroyed 600,000 dollars worth of automotive paint, and then tried to burn someone alive! These people are fucking psychopaths!" one viewer raged.Another erupted, "I just sent that bastard a Super Thanks! Give me my money back! I want a refund right fucking now!" Daniel completely lost it. His hands shook as he frantically fumbled with his phone, desperately trying to shut down the livestream. "No! That's not what happened! Those videos are fake! They've been doctored! Just give me a chance to explain!"Lily was just as terrified. Her face deathly pale, she stumbled backward, seemingly unable to believe that their carefully crafted lies had unraveled so spectacularly. But before Daniel could even figure out how to end the stream, the screen suddenly went black. The platform had intervened and permanently banned his account.A glaring system notification appeared on the screen: "This account has been permanently suspended for serious violations of plat

The sound of shattering windshields echoed throughout the showroom as chaos spiraled out of control. As if things weren't bad enough already, Victor's phone suddenly rang. He answered, and his expression darkened almost immediately as the person on the other end delivered the bad news. "Mr. Sterling, we have a serious problem. The livestream has been maliciously edited and pushed to the top of the trending charts. The group's stock price is taking a massive hit. The market's been open for less than ten minutes, and our shares have already plunged eight percent!" Victor broke out in a cold sweat, his hand shaking so badly that he could barely hold his phone steady as he held it out to show me the charts."Mr. Sterling, if we don't shut down that livestream immediately, the losses could be catastrophic!" I merely sneered and calmly pushed his phone back down. "Why would we shut it down?" I asked, my tone almost amused. "Tell the operations team to pour money into promoting Dan

Lily had had enough of the arguing. She pulled out her phone and dialed a number. "Mr. Walker, we've got trouble at the dealership. Some people are making a scene and pretending to be senior executives from headquarters. Get over here with your security team and throw them out!" Less than five minutes later, Brandon Walker, the branch manager, stormed in with several security guards. He immediately stepped in front of Lily protectively before pointing an accusing finger at Victor and me. "Where the hell did you nobodies come from? You have some nerve to cause trouble on my turf."Without waiting for an answer, he barked at the guards, "Security! Beat these scammers up and throw them out! If anything happens, I'll take full responsibility!" The guards immediately closed in around us. Victor's face darkened with fury, and he looked ready to explode, but I raised a hand to stop him. Rather than waste my breath arguing with these people, I pulled out my phone and logged into the

Several bodyguards immediately grabbed fire extinguishers and unleashed a barrage of foam on the burning cardboard and tires. Meanwhile, Victor rushed over and hauled me to my feet. The moment he saw how deathly pale I was, his entire body began to tremble, and his eyes filled with panic. "Call an ambulance!" he roared at the bodyguards behind him, his eyes bloodshot."Mr. Sterling, please hang on! Please forgive me. I shouldn't have taken this long to come." He quickly shrugged off his jacket and wrapped it tightly around me, as though afraid he might lose me if he let go for even a second.Meanwhile, Lily and Daniel stood frozen, staring blankly at the sudden arrival of so many people. Lily, however, had no idea who Victor was. As my family's butler and a member of the corporate headquarters staff, he was hardly someone she could afford to offend, but she had no way of knowing that. Instead, she strode toward the doorway, folded her arms across her chest, and glared at the in

The area outside the storage room fell silent. The only sound was Lily's rapid, panicked breathing. "Who the hell are you?" she demanded. "I was so careful that even the store manager had no idea what I was doing! How could you possibly have found out?""That's none of your business." I stood in the water, my voice cold and unwavering. "Let me out now, and we can still work something out." Lily had clearly been rattled. She was just about to unlock the door when someone suddenly slammed the lock back into place."Lily, have you lost your mind?" Daniel hissed, his voice low and vicious. "He has evidence against you! If you let him out now, he'll turn around and have you thrown in jail!" "Then what the hell are we supposed to do?" Lily's voice trembled. "He even took pictures of everything." "What are you so afraid of?" Daniel sneered. "Now that he knows everything, we can't afford to let him walk out of here alive!" My heart sank. I hurriedly pulled out my phone, hoping to c

The air grew more stifling by the second as I stumbled through the darkness, struggling to breathe. My vision blurred, and waves of dizziness washed over me as my brain struggled to function without enough oxygen. The blast door was sealed so tightly that not even a sliver of light could penetrate it. Lily wasn't just trying to teach me a lesson. She was willing to kill me. But I wasn't about to die in this godforsaken room. Forcing my trembling legs to keep moving, I braced one hand against the wall and felt my way along it until I found the ventilation opening high above me. Someone had covered it with a metal sheet, completely blocking the airflow. Gripping an iron rod, I raised it with what little strength I had left and swung at the sheet again and again, each strike sending a jarring vibration through my arms. Finally, with a shrill screech of tearing metal, the sheet gave way, leaving a hole barely large enough for fresh air to rush in.I immediately pressed my face against
