Grey.

I couldn’t feel my legs. Couldn’t feel anything but the pounding in my chest and the burning sting in my throat from screaming too hard. My knees hit the tiled floor, but I barely noticed. My hands were shaking, stained red, and I couldn’t stop staring at her—her lifeless body splayed across the living room like a doll that had been dropped and forgotten. Her blood was pooling fast, soaking into the rug I bought last winter.

“I didn’t do this,” I choked, looking up at the wall of suits standing across from me—Bryce and the other two board members, frozen in place, horror etched into their aging faces.

Bryce took a cautious step back, his face pale, eyes wide and twitching. “Grey…” he said carefully, like my name might explode in his mouth. “This—this looks bad. Really bad.”

I pushed myself forward, crawling a little on all fours toward them. My voice cracked. “You have to believe me. Please. I walked in and found her like this. I didn’t—I would never—Bryce, please.”

Camilla. The second I got the call, my heart dropped. “Grey’s been arrested,” the voice on the line said. “Charged with murder.”For a moment, I forgot how to breathe. Grey? Murder? No. No way. That man has many flaws, stubborn, reckless, frustratingly noble but a killer? Not him.“I’ll be there,” I said, already grabbing my bag before the call even ended. The police station stank of sweat and stale coffee. The fluorescent lights overhead flickered like they were too tired to do their job. I hated this place already.“Camilla Easton, here to see Alexander Grey,” I told the officer at the front desk.He raised a brow at me, like he didn’t believe someone like me belonged there. I didn’t care. I could’ve threatened him with a lawsuit or two, but I didn’t want to draw attention. They led me down a narrow hallway lined with doors and silence. When we reached the interrogation room, the door creaked open and... there he was.My breath caught.Grey looked like hell. His lower lip was split

Grey. The silence in my house had never felt so loud. It pressed in from the corners of every room, following me from the bedroom to the kitchen, like a persistent shadow. My coffee sat untouched on the counter. Cold now. Bitter. Just like me. I hadn’t slept properly in days, not since Camilla looked me in the eye and said those words:Her voice still echoed in my ears—haunting and heavy. Dragging myself into the office this morning felt like wading through wet cement. I didn’t even greet my assistant. I just walked straight into my office, locked the door, and sank into the chair behind my desk.I stared at the city skyline beyond the floor-to-ceiling windows, watching it blur slightly from the rain tapping against the glass. My phone buzzed endlessly, calls, texts, meeting reminders but I ignored them all. I couldn’t deal with any of it today. Not the board. Not investors. Not even my damn secretary.I pressed the heels of my hands into my eyes, trying to block out the chaos in my

Camilla.I woke up before the sun even dared to rise, the sky outside still clinging to the darkness like a dying promise. My body ached, not from pain but from the heavy pressure of decisions, regrets, and expectations clawing at me. I stared at the ceiling for a moment, unmoving, my mind already buzzing.Grey was still asleep beside me, lying there like he hadn't spent the last two days silently deciding whether or not our child was worth fighting for. I turned my head to look at him, his face relaxed in slumber—too relaxed. How could he sleep when I’d been battling my own thoughts every second? No. I wasn’t going to wait for him to make up his mind anymore. I had given him two damn days. That was more than fair.Without a word, I pushed the covers off and swung my legs over the side of the bed. Cold air kissed my bare skin, but I welcomed it. I dressed quietly, deliberately. Every movement was a statement. Black jeans, a plain hoodie. No makeup. Hair in a tight ponytail. I didn’t

Julia. The bar lights flickered like dying stars overhead. My heels clicked softly as I walked beside Santos, the music pulsing behind us like a heartbeat I didn’t want to listen to anymore. He didn’t say much at first—just reached for my hand, steady and firm, as if I was something fragile and flammable all at once. He led me to his seat near the back, away from the chaos, where the air didn’t reek of sweat and desperation.“Sit,” he said, his tone unreadable.I did, wordlessly, dropping into the cushioned seat like gravity had given up on me. Santos flagged the waitress without looking. “Get her whatever she wants. And keep it coming.”The drinks arrived fast—too fast. Vodka. Straight. I didn’t wait. I knocked back the first glass like it owed me money, and when the second came, I was already holding out my hand.Santos watched, his fingers steepled beneath his chin. “You planning to drown or set something on fire?”“Whichever one works faster,” I muttered, my voice thick. He leaned

Julia.I was going insane. It was the only explanation for the whirlwind tearing through my chest, the way my hands shook even when they were still. My heart wouldn’t stop racing—hadn’t stopped in days. Every time I blinked, I saw her face.Camilla.Dead. Again.Or… was she?I stumbled back against the wall in my bedroom, gripping my head as if I could squeeze the chaos out of it. The pills had stopped helping two nights ago, and the alcohol just made everything blurrier—but not better. I didn’t know what was real anymore. I’d killed her. I know I did. I watched her fall. I saw the blood. I felt that final breath rattle out of her lungs. And yet… no body. No trace.Just like last time.I couldn’t breathe.“No, no, no,” I whispered to myself, clawing at my scalp, pacing like a caged animal. “This can’t be happening again.”I had to move. I had to do something.I threw on a hoodie and jeans, barely registering the way my hands fumbled with the zipper. I didn't bother with makeup. My eye
