Alison POV

On the second day of admission, I was already doing great. I sat on my bed and had my lunch. The nurse attending to me came by to do her checkup, so I seized the opportunity to ask questions.

“I heard that the longer you stay here the more the bills pile up, is that true?”

“Yes it is, it’s calculated per night.”

I gasped, I have to be out of here by tonight if I don’t want to owe a fortune.

“But you’re Mr. Van Dyke’s family right? He’s taken care of everything.”

“Oh,” I managed to muffle, why on earth would he list me as his family member when I don’t even know him? What kind of family members sleep with each other? Oh did he mean husband and wife? No, no, he can’t be serious. What happened between us was a one-time thing that had left me afraid and ashamed to look him in the eye.

Maybe I should escape from this place before he gets back, I looked around to see if I had any belongings in the room. My phone, my purse, my laptop. Where are they? Did they drown with me? Oh goo
