Chapter 4: Risking It All to Catch a Cheater

Author: Sonia
Chloe’s POV

I stepped into the hotel, a luxurious hotspot renowned for its stunning design and popularity on social media.

The decor exuded lavishness. Everywhere was adorned with fresh flowers, filling the air with a subtle fragrance that embraced me the moment I entered. The vibrant arrangements were almost overwhelming, a testament to the hotel’s reputation as the most upscale venue in the city.

But I had no time to admire any of it. All I wanted was to find Trevor.

I pressed the button for the 28th floor, the top level of the hotel. As the elevator ascended, my heart pounded harder with each passing second.

When the doors opened on the 28th floor, my path was immediately blocked.

"Sorry, miss, this floor has been booked out today," said a man in a black suit. His tone was polite, but his firm demeanor left no room for negotiation.

"I'm here to see Trevor Skyler. I’m his girlfriend."

The man looked me up and down, his expression laced with disdain. "Plenty of women come here claiming they’re looking for Mr. Skyler. If you’re trying to climb the ladder, maybe ask yourself if you’re even worth it."

I clenched my fists, anger surging through me as I forced myself to stay calm. Was this the world of the wealthy? Even seeing my own boyfriend required permission?

"Mr. Skyler already has a companion with him today. He’s entertaining important guests. Please leave immediately," the man added impatiently, his tone making me feel like an unwanted solicitor.

Companion? My mind immediately flashed to Rachel and her smug social media post about "working with her boss."

At that moment, I spotted them in the distance—Rachel was clinging to Trevor’s arm, laughing and chatting as they walked into a room together. The door bore the number 2808.

I tried to follow, my voice rising. "I’m really Trevor’s girlfriend!"

The man didn’t hesitate. He shoved me hard, and I stumbled to the ground.

"Miss, please leave now. Don’t make me force you," he warned, his glare sharp and dismissive, as if I were nothing more than a nuisance.

Fuming but determined, I knew I had to find another way. My thoughts were racing as I scrambled to my feet and hurried to locate the service elevator.

The service elevator reeked of mildew, a mix of overripe fruit and damp cardboard boxes left to rot. Covering my nose, I stepped inside, muttering to myself, "Whatever it takes to catch him in the act."

The elevator rattled slightly as it reached the designated floor. When the doors slid open, I crouched low, carefully making my way down the hallway. Step by step, I crept toward Room 2808.

Standing outside the door, I raised my hand to knock, but I froze as sounds from inside the room reached my ears.

"Harder, baby."

"I’m squeezing you—go harder."

"Oh my God! This feels amazing!"

"All three of you, come at me. I can handle it."

"Harder! Fuck!"

The vulgar voices, clear as day, pierced through the door.

Rachel’s voice was unmistakable. So was Trevor’s. But… were there others?

What the hell were they doing in there? Was Trevor really this depraved behind my back?

My hand hovered above the door handle, trembling. I couldn’t bring myself to push it open. Fear gripped me—fear of confirming what I had imagined.

My mind spun, conjuring a vivid, humiliating scene of Trevor surrounded by three barely dressed women, each draped in the lace lingerie he always claimed to love. They fawned over him, treating him like a king. Rachel was all over him, shamelessly teasing as he pinned her beneath him, his movements hard and relentless.

The other women took turns enjoying his attention, their laughter ringing out as they left traces of their affection all over his body. Trevor’s eyes were closed, a look of pure pleasure on his face, as their hands roamed over him.

"Harder… squeeze me…"

Trevor’s low, raspy voice echoed through the door, sounding nothing like the man I thought I knew.

A loud buzzing filled my head. My legs felt like they were weighed down with lead, refusing to move.

Nausea churned in my stomach, a bitter acid rising to my throat. I clamped a hand over my mouth, forcing myself not to throw up.

This was the man I had loved for five years. The man I believed would marry me.

If I exposed them right now, I would lose him completely, along with all the happiness we currently had. What would I do then?

I was carrying his child. I didn’t want my baby to grow up without a father’s love. Should I pretend I hadn’t heard anything? Act as though I was never here?

If I did that, wouldn’t my life remain the same? I could still bask in Trevor’s affection, maybe even become his wife someday.

But I couldn’t. I couldn’t pretend none of this had happened. I had heard it all—every word.

I bit down hard on my lip, the sharp sting bringing me back to my senses.

With a deep breath, I raised my hand and knocked firmly on the door.

Chloe’s POV“What exactly are you all talking about?” I smiled as I approached my colleagues, addressing them directly. “Oh, nothing, Chloe,” one of them replied hastily. As soon as they saw me, the group quickly dispersed, avoiding any further conversation. It was odd, but I didn’t press them for answers. I had no idea what was going on, but gossip was never my thing anyway. Back in my office, I dove into a pile of work. The case files Amy had organized were a complete mess, but knowing the pressure she faced at home, I didn’t want to give her a hard time. Instead, I took it upon myself to sort everything out, including preparing the files for Roman’s case. After hours of work, I finally had a moment to step away and use the restroom. “We’ll hide over here,” a hushed voice said. I caught the sound of several footsteps as I entered the restroom but didn’t pay much attention. Once I finished, I pushed open the door to leave. Without warning, a bucket of freezing cold

Chloe’s POV“You have to understand me. Everything I’m doing right now is for our future.” I turned around and saw Trevor, swaying unsteadily, clearly drunk. His bloodshot eyes locked onto mine, glistening with unshed tears. “Trevor, it’s not that I don’t want to understand you, but you always make me feel… like I’m not that important to you.” “I know, it’s my fault. I didn’t consider your feelings. I wasn’t there when you needed me. You had to go to the hospital alone. And despite knowing you're allergic, I still let roses into our house just because Rachel wanted them."He gently cupped my face, his touch tender. “But, baby, I care about you. More than I care about myself.” His sincerity made my resolve waver, but before I could respond, Luna stormed out of the car and yanked me away from him. "You have no right to touch her!" Luna snapped, her glare sharp and unwavering. "Where were you when Chloe was in pain? She had to go to the hospital all by herself! And who’s the one

Chloe’s POV“Kiss! Kiss!” My gaze swept across the crowd to see Trevor and Rachel standing close, surrounded by people cheering them on. A pang of discomfort hit me, but I tried not to dwell on it. They were just playing along with the clients—it wasn’t like they had a choice. “Chloe, what are you looking at?” Luna’s voice interrupted my thoughts. “Oh, nothing.” She followed my line of sight and immediately understood everything. “Tonight’s about us, remember? Let’s not think about anything stressful!” “Cheers!” To my surprise, Amy raised her glass and began drinking. It wasn’t long before Amy started getting a little drunk. Sitting quietly with Luna, her son, and me, Amy began to open up about her story. The woman who was usually aggressive and overly critical at work, my sworn nemesis, now looked weary and defeated, a vulnerability I’d never seen in her before. “You probably think I’m harsh, mean-spirited, even petty,” she said, her voice tinged with suppressed bit

Chloe’s POVTo everyone’s shock, Mark slammed the wine glass against his own head. Blood streamed down his forehead as the veins on his face and neck bulged, making him look terrifying. "You don’t even understand what it means to save money! I work my ass off, and you just throw it all away!" Their argument echoed across the restaurant. Luna and I sat nearby, catching snippets of their sharp and cutting words. "Throw it away?" Amy shot back furiously. "Do you have any idea how much it costs to run this household? I haven’t wasted a dime! Everything goes toward our child. Meanwhile, we’re still footing the bill for your sister’s monthly weed habit!" "Don’t you dare bring up my family!" Mark roared, his voice booming. "You’re the one who can’t control yourself. What kind of woman spends like you do?" With that, he grabbed her purse off the table and held it up. "This stupid bag cost three thousand dollars! What good does it do? Can you eat it?" Amy’s face flushed red. "Tha

Chloe’s POV"Sweetheart, we're heading out now."Trevor kissed my forehead before leaving. As I opened my drowsy eyes, I saw him and Rachel walking out the door, both dressed in perfectly coordinated business suits. They looked like a flawless pair.Today, I had taken the day off. This cursed allergy had left my face in a terrible state. I took a cab to the hospital, where the doctor prescribed some medication and sternly warned me to stay away from roses, or the red spots on my face would never go away. I listened quietly, but my thoughts drifted. If Trevor were here, he’d probably remind me with even more care. He’d help me apply the cream and gently blow on my face with concern in his eyes.Leaving the hospital, I wandered aimlessly through the bustling streets, feeling an empty ache in my chest. I didn’t want to sit at home alone, waiting for Trevor and Rachel to come back arm in arm. I needed to reclaim my own life."Hey, girl! What are you up to? Let’s grab dinner!" I cal

  • From Heartbreak to the CEO’s Bed   Chapter 25: Speechless

Chloe’s POV"Wasn’t it you who asked Mr. Roman to take me to the hospital?" "What? No, we haven’t been in touch lately." Roman lied to me! He made it sound like Trevor had sent him to find me and take me to the hospital, but Trevor had no idea about any of it! Roman must have just happened to run into me, taken me to the hospital, and tried to talk me out of breaking up with Trevor. What did he take me for? A gullible child he could easily fool? Then again, he probably meant well, trying to ease things between me and Trevor. Fine. I wouldn’t hold it against him. "You just happened to bump into Uncle?" "Yeah, we ran into each other on the way.”"And he’s the one who took you to the hospital? That’s so unlike him. My uncle usually avoids people like the plague." "Yes, he even talked to me quite a bit." "That’s surprising. He’s always so swamped with work he barely has time to grab a proper meal. Can you believe he’s never even dated anyone? And yet, he made time to take
