After getting rid of Alpha Jackson, not a damn soul dares to meet the eyes of Reed. They know he is their Alpha now, and while he doesn’t have time to give them an announcement, I don’t think anyone can complain.

Most people just want to leave the scene, and after Reed has made a phone call to have Jackson’s body removed, I follow him to his car with my pulse drumming against my neck.

I’m finally beginning to understand that all those stories I’ve heard about Alpha Reed Walton are true.

He is as charming as they come, with a masculine square jaw, a sharp nose, and big bedroom eyes the color of the ocean. His skin is beautifully tanned and the dimple appearing on the side of his mouth when he smirks could melt any female’s heart.

But while this Alpha is as gorgeous as they come, he is also very much an Alpha: a man who treats the pack laws like his sole religion. He killed a man who challenged him as an Alpha in front of me, and he doesn’t look sorry for it.

The day continues with Reed attending some late-night meetings with the council while I spend time with Leon in the garden. It’s still too cold outside to plant anything, but we find pots in the shed and bring them to my room since they can be used for indoor planting. We select seeds of various plants- lavender, mint, basil, and tiny roses -that we could grow in the confines of the room, a mini garden of our own.By midnight, Reed returns from his council meeting, looking exhausted yet satisfied with how it went.
