                                                                              Hope

The light is blinding to my sensitive eyes as we emerge from the depths of the cellar. we are hurried along a wide hallway leading to huge wooden double doors. The sound of men shouting as the prisioners huddle together booms in my ears. Blinking to adust to the change of light i look around taking in my surroundings. We are standing in what looks to be a large cathedral. Its beautiful marbel floors lined with gold and giant floor to celling pillars covered in intricate patterens and vines. Lanters line the walls iluminating the large room. Ive never seen anything so beautiful. A large fireplace cut out into the wall burns the chill of winter away. At the end of the room steps climb to a platform, a large metal chair sits in the center, barbwire thorns weave down from top to the legs of firce looking chair. My mind is racing Its a thrown not a chair!" This is a ballroom my heart rate picks up. We are in the castel! " his castel " no no no this isnt happening" i scream in my head. My heart is pounding againt my chest i think im going to be sick.

Just as my stomach starts to turn a hand wraps around my arm. They are separating us. Men woman and children are all pulled apart into separate groups. "Let go of me" i snap at garret. He ignores me shoving me forward with the other women my age. I stumble but catch myself before falling. Frantic mubbles fill the room. My eyes find Molly huddling with the other children, they are afraid. I would be to but i dont fear death anymore. Death is peacful quiet some would even say a kind. In this world for humans it would be a mercy.

The man with Garrett is standing with his arm folded across his chest looking at us as if we are dirt he wouldnt bother to wipe off his pollished shoes. "QUIET!' his harsh voice Booms through the ball room. Silence follows seconds later. The quiet is so quick and eerie i can feel sweat starting to bead on my forhead. The sound of the large wallnut doors being opened with the 'click 'click 'click of a womans heals following suit pulls my attention from the men infront of us.

She tall and fit with a red gown embroidered with gold flowers. Her breast spilling slightly over the top of her corset. Her blonde hair is Braided tight atop her head, sparkling rubys line her thin neck. Shes beautiful every step with the grace of royalty as she walks toward us." how can she breath in that thing" i think to myself. With a tight and cold smile she claps her hands together "well what to we have here"  she says glancing at garrett and the man next to him. Her eyes and smile hold no joy. Her voice is chilling " today is your lucky day" she says looking us over with desgust."Take the children to the orphange, half the men to genral Warren at the gulag" the rest to the feilds". She says waving her hand. Bowing his head Garrett ushers the men and children out of the ballroom. My eyes find mollys again the plea there is clear. I nod my head once at her in incuragement. At least she will be safe and fed. Her outcome far better than what i think we both expected.

I guess death isnt our fate not hers anyway. I can live with that. "Now as for you lot, you will be sent to the servants quarts. The woman infront of us speaks again. " the godness has blessed you with your life for now" her lips pulling into a crule smile. " You will cook, clean and attend to the needs of our lords and ladies". I scouft rolling my eyes. Serve them i would rather be back in the dounges. Looking over i see a few of the woman next to me 'sigh' in releif . The sting of a hand hitting the side of my face snaches my attention forward. Cupping my red and burning check i look up at the woman who just hit me. "if you want to keep your life i suggest to mind your manners human" she spits at me her words dripping with malice. Gritting my teeth i bow my head "please forgive me your grace" i say my pride burning inside my chest like fire. Stepping back she Yells" Maria". A middle age woman comes scurring through the large doors. She looks to be in her late forties, her long brown hair braided down her back the touch of gray framing her face ageing her from years of servitude. She wears a clean but worn servant dress that stops just below her knees.A brown apron pulled tight at her waist "yes madam regina" "what can i do for you" she says keeping her head low in respect.

Thats how things are now after they took over, their alpha killed our king. My mother sold me stories of the war that happened before i was born. It was more of a slaughter than a war, countless men woman and children died that day. We never stood a chance. Looking down at maria she speaks" take them to the servants quarts see that they fed and prepped to work at first light" she looks us over with with descust " and bathed". With a wave of her hand and click of her heals shes gone.
