Derek's POV

Fiona was broken.

Something in her had shifted, twisted and left and empty shell behind.

As I saw her crouched by the wall next to the hearth, hugging her knees to her chest, a habit she has been doing more often since "Susanna" came, one that was evidence of her fright and terror, one thing occurred to me; I had lost my Fiona.

I had left the pack for two nights, and in that amount of time, Fiona had lost more than half of her weight. Sfe was always skinny, and save for the small bump on a her belly, pregnancy had no effect on her at all. Yet, to call her a bag of bones will be the biggest understatement.

When she looked up at me, I could see the outline of her eye sockets, and when she breathed my name, I saw the way her skin clung to her ribs, it looked so painful, that I winced.

Yet nothing was worse than seeing the look on her eyes. In those brown orbs, the message was as clear as day, "you left me alone."

I was torn.

I know Fiona was really pissed, and I understood i

Susanna's POV "Are you okay?" Sebestian's voice was steady and he caught me. I was rising from the throne and suddenly found myself unstable and my knees suddenly went wobbly , unable to stand and found myself in his arms.Sebestian's face was completely rid of rage, and filled with concern. Hus eye looked at me with worry, and his arms held me gently like he was afraid that I would break. As for me, I was surprised that I was in this state, and to be real honest I was not sure what 'state' I was in either. It has been about ten minutes since Derek picked up himself and left this hall, and Hercules eyes left me a promise. But as soon as the doors fell closed, a heavy breath escaped my lips before I could even think. I thought that was it, boy was I wrong. A tightness grew in my chest, it felt like there was a truck and the driver had chosen my chest to park. It was incredibly heavy, I felt my ribs crush under the weight and my lungs had forgotten how to function. My heart was ce

  • From ruin to the Lycan King's Luna   Chapter Eighty-Five

Susanna's POV.Derek was on his knees. The thud his knees made when they connected to the ground was resounding in the room, like an echo of his defeat. Now things are getting interesting.Hercules turned to him, a mix of disappointment and helplessness in his eyes. He shook his head, and fell to his knees by his side, and wiped the tear from his face. He was resolute now, determination that came from getting what he wants either by deal or by pleading, his shoulders fell slumped with the weight of the lives of wolves on them."Please." Derek croaked out. His voice was quiet and still, pleading and small.Though quiet, his plea resounded throughout the throne room. I was more shocked than I was pleased. DarkMoon must really be in a bad place if an arrogant man like Derek came to his knees. I locked gazes with Sebestian, whose eyes reflected how I felt, yet asking if this was really what I wanted.A broken pleading Derek was an absolute delight to watch. But I was done with watching h

Susanna's POV.It was disappointing to say the least. It was also quite embarrassing to watch the man I had once fall in love with cower before me without a fight. It felt good to be on this side of the table, but it was downright embarrassing, disgraceful even to know I was once proud to be associated with this man.Ew!Out of the corner of my eye, a casual sideways glance was all it took to find quite a sight by my side.Sebestian lost it at the mention of Fiona's name and I was taken aback by the expression nok his face. He never showed that much emotion around others, he was stoic, aloof and a man of few words, yet somewhere in the depth of my heart, there was warmth, the black rage ok just face must be painting butterflies on my belly. It was heartwarming to know he was angry on my behalf.I wanted to throw Derek out immediately and tease Sebestian to no end, but another part of me just wants to toy with Derek, to watch him grovel a bit more at my feet. Gratification won in the

Derek's POV Hercules suddenly looked taller than usual; his shoulders were squared, he had straightened to his full height, hhs hands were held together at his back, his head raised to meet the gaze of the Lycan Royals duo. He seemed confident, not like an Alpha than I ever could at this moment. Yet something else was in his gaze. Aside from confidence, his eyes held something else, relief. His shoulders looked the most loose that I have seen in months, and there was a flicker of a smile as he looked at Susanna. He did not look like he had seen a ghost, if anything he looked..... Happy. I have always known he was a big fan of Susanna. He had cheered the loudest at her ceremony, and listened to her way more than I did. I had once been suspicious, but he looked at Susanna with way more respect than anyone else. Susanna was his Luna, then, now, at probably forever.I was not so sure how I felt about that, or even anything. Somehow his confidence added more shame to me, but I had never

Derek's POV.I wish I could believe my eyes, but I couldn't. What I was seeing made absolutely no sense. There was no reason why Susanna should be alive, and even less reason for her to be by the Lycan King side "Su- Susanna?" I choked out, her name falling into a stuttering whisper. No reaction.I was not sure if I felt relieved or more confused about that. She just kept staring ahead, like she could see right through me; and not in a metaphorical way.Maybe she was indeed an apparition, but ghosts don't have such glowing healthy skin, and they don't look well fed.Susanna did. Her cheeks had color, her fingers on the armrest of the throne were not haggardly thin. She looked alive in every way...; except her eyes. There was something wrong with her gaze."What are you doing here?" I tried again, just to make sure. There was finally a reaction.Susanna tilted her head slowly, and her eyes moved to refocus on me and not through me. It all felt weird, wrong even. She stared at me li

  • From ruin to the Lycan King's Luna   Chapter Eighty-One

Derek's POV I can't believe I am really doing this..It was not real when I got it dressed this morning. I must have woken up on the wrong side of the bed today and I had a headache to testify for it. There was no part of me, that wanted this trip to be real, but I had to do it. I had to try, to go and fight for a chance for my pack. I had thought about it over and over, Hercules' words accompanying me throughout the night. The more I thought about it, the more I realised he was right, and I might have no other choice. Sebastian Moonstone was wealthy enough to buy back my pack from the jaws of death, and he was powerful enough to make sure it stays that way.I was at the end of my road. It was either this or nothing. If I do not do this, I might not have a pack to call me Alpha. And even I know that would be the beginning of my death."Alpha, Are you alright ?" My manservant asked as he straightened the collar of my shirt."I will be or I might not be." Came my honest reply."Well
