I knew damn well that crazy things happened in marriage once in a while, but this—?
This sound of flesh slapping against flesh that blended perfectly with the loud moaning and groaning coming right from my matrimonial bedroom?
This was simply on another level!
At first when my best friend, Fiona had sent me that message, I had thought it was a prank— you know, some sick joke to ruffle me.
[I think your husband may be cheating on you]; I had read it over and over again, before boarding the flight down here only to really see it was true.
Pain clawed at my heart. How could Derek do this to me? No! Why? Why would he break me this way? He loved me— we both loved each other.
In fact, before I had travelled to the human community to represent him at the leadership conference, he had acted all clingy.
He'd been so sick and hadn't wanted me to leave him alone. But I'd had to go so he wouldn't get into trouble for not attending.
So after everything, was this my reward for being the dutiful Luna? He lied about being sick!
How long had he been doing this? I was sure if Fiona hadn't found out and told me, this one would have still gone unnoticed.
Tears welled up in my eyes and even as I pushed them back, they rolled down my face regardless.
"Fuck! I think I'm gonna come!" Derek's voice snapped me out of my reverie, rough and raspy.
A laboured breath shuddered down my lungs and anger replaced the pain in my heart. He was about to come? Hell no!
Without thinking it twice, I pushed the door open with a loud bang. But even that bang didn't prepare me for the sight that welcomed me.
There was my husband of four years, Derek Heathrow, the Alpha of Darkmoon pack, kneeling on the bed as he gave hot backshots to a woman who was equally on her knees.
But what really had all the blood in my veins drying up and my eyes almost popping out of their sockets in horror was the woman's face.
What in the moon goddess's name was happening?
No! There was no bloody way my very own best friend, Fiona, would be having sex with my husband, right?
I closed my eyes, scratched it before opening it, but the mentally gory scene remained. My knees went weak as the weight of the betrayal threatened to.pull me apart.
"Why?" I barked.
"Why would you both do this to me, Fiona? Derek?"
My gaze trained on Derek who was putting on his clothes now, expecting to see remorse, guilt or better still, shame. But his face held nothing.
Just stoic blankness.
"Leave, Anna. I'll explain everything to you later." He said flatly.
My heart silently broke at his dismissive words. How could anyone be so brazen and calm after being caught cheating?
"You would explain everything later?" I snorted a bitter laugh. "You want to explain that somehow you found yourself balls deep into Fiona and it didn't mean anything?"
Fiona snickered derisively. "Girl, calm your nerves."
My blood boiled over a dangerous degree and I had to fight the urge to grab something— anything and hurl it at her head.
"How dare you, Fiona?" I ground out. "You sent me those texts on purpose. You—" my voice croaked out with emotions.
She sneered. "What text? I have no idea what you are talking—"
"Shut your trap!" I snapped. "How could you be so heartless after everything I did for you?"
"Is this the thank you that I get for letting you stay with me when you were chased out of your pack? Is this how you repay me for giving you everything you needed?"
"Every fucking thing!" I enunciated. "How could you have the guts to seduce my own hus—"
"Oh, please!" Derek's voice cut me off. "You think Fiona needed to seduce me? Hell no! You can never compare to her even if you tried."
"Rather than blaming Fiona, pin the blame on yourself for having misguided priorities. If you hadn't prioritized pack duties over our marriage, this wouldn't have happened!"
I couldn't help the incredulous scoff that escaped my throat as I tried to make sense of Derek's words.
"Do you even have a conscience?" My voice trembled with fury.
"How could you discard everything I've done for this pack ever since we got married? Have you forgotten how this pack was before? I made it as powerful and rich as it is today!'
"And after everything, your mess is somehow my fault?"
"Are you out of your mind?" Derek retorted. "How did you help the pack grow when your barren self couldn't even give me an heir?"
His words hit me like a slap to my face and the sting traveled all the way to my heart, crushing what remained of it into tiny shards.
Staring at Derek's face, he suddenly seemed like a different person. I had always thought my marriage to him had been the best decision in my life.
But now, I guess, it didn't count anymore.
After my father's death, I had been grieving and needed to get away from the pack that reminded me so much of him.
Fate had led me to dark moon pack and the same fate had brought both Derek and I together.
Before I knew it, we had gotten married and things had gone by so smoothly. Well, until the problem we never saw coming hit us like tidal waves.
No matter how much we tried, I couldn't get pregnant. However, Derek had been so sweet, telling me we could keep trying till the moon goddess eventually blessed us.
But now he was saying this?
"I'm divorcing you and breaking our mate bond!" His words jolted me.
"I no longer need you, Anna. Fiona has given me everything I ever wanted— a child! She's the one I want as my Luna, not you."
Susanna’s POVMy lashes fluttered open and I squinted my brows trying to get used to the brightness. When my vision got clear enough, I caught sight of Sebastian standing by the window with a look I wasn’t really expecting.I mean I could tell that I had been in a slight incident so to see him looking all happy was a bit unsettling. He seemed to notice that I had awoken and quickly ran to me. A lot more excited now. Tracy who had been standing with him also followed after. “Hi baby. Hi.” He said, kneeling beside the bed and gently taking my hand in his. “How do you feel, Susanna?” Tracy asked. “What happened? Why do I feel so lightheaded?”Sebastian quickly held my hand.“It’s a long story but I want you to know that you’re fine and I have great news.”Tracy nodded behind him. “Great news? About what?”“Well about why you feel so lightheaded.”I squinted in confusion. “Owkayy. What is it?”He stared at me deeply. “Thank you very much for this, Susanna. Thank you so much.”This
Sebastian’s POVThorne had set up some of his rogues into the royal guards under his jurisdiction. When we noticed how relaxed he seemed, Susanna had suggested doing a deeper investigation into him and the people around him. We took his head guard in for questioning and after a while of intense torture, he finally gave up tte secret. About a third of the royal guards under him were rogues. In fact they were a part of the exact group who had killed my mother and wife. When I heard this, I lost my footing, almost fell onto my back until Susanna quickly held me down. Thankfully and stupidly enough, all the rogues had a similar tattoo that they could use to always identify and differentiate themselves from the others and that very tattoo was what we used to nab them.So when he began acting up, I knew why he was doing it. He was the rest assured that his men will rise up against me when in reality, they were all about to go to the afterlife with their master.Roderic walked in and the
Sebastian’s POV.In the public square, Susanna and I sat on our high seats, our hands settled on either side of us.We were surrounded by the elders and other members of the pack watching as Thorne was being dragged out in chains, one eye dripping down blood. The crowd watched in shocked horror. He was nothing like the man I knew, he was a complete shadow of himself and for a second I couldn’t push away the hurt that sort of creeped into my mind. The thought that he was my brother, an information he knew very well but still decided to ignore in pursuit of my throne left me shocked to say the least. We dined together, talked and spent time together and not once did he think to mention something of such magnitude just because he wanted to hurt me.Well it was too bad that it had to end that way but it still had to. He was placed in the middle of the room and although it was a few meters away, he was still facing me directly. He was pushed onto his knees, his eyes bearing deeply int
Sebastian’s POVMy head spinned, my eyes went blurry and I didn’t even know when I staggered backwards, almost falling to the ground until Susanna quickly held onto me.“Calm down, Sebastian. Find your calm.” She said, sitting me gently on the chair behind.I lifted my head back to Thorne, trying to see any traces of lies. Although I knew that wouldn’t do anything as he had clearly proven to be quite good at hiding it.But with what I had just done to him, I was very much in doubt that he would dare lie to me. At least not about the questions I had asked.Still, I couldn’t even begin to bring myself into believing the words that fell out of his mouth.“What the hell did you just say?”His head was facing the ceiling, dangling as he was clearly trying to ease into the pain I had caused. “Answer me, dammit.” I yelled because he didn’t have the luxury of taking a break to tend to his wounds. He didn’t deserve it.He quickly lifted his attention back to me.And the moment he saw my eyes,
Thorne’s POV“You disgusting little piece of shit.” Susanna yelled, marching towards me but Sebastian quickly held her back.“No, I don’t want you anywhere close to that bastard.”She humphed, going back to her spot. Tracy on the other hand seemed too distraught to even curse at me or react like the others were doing. I looked away, unapologetic.Trudy was a bitch who went around sniffing into what wasn’t her business so she got what she deserved from me. I dragged her out of the palace, while begging me, she mistakenly let it slip that she had a twin sister somewhere. Something I knew Sebastian wasn’t aware of as he had never made any indication towards it.Her pleas did nothing to change her fate though as I killed her immediately and buried her body in a place I knew would never be searched again.Whenever I saw Sebastian traveling far and near for his mother and wife, I couldn’t help the snicker that curled on my lips because the people he was looking for were right under his no
Sebastian’s POV“I guess you don’t want to confess?”“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” He lied again. An act I was getting tired of so I flicked Roderic a look. He nodded, walked towards the branding iron and pulled it out.Thorne’s eyes widened at this.A moment later, Roderic walked back with the iron in hand, he waited a moment for my final permission, which I gave. And in the next second,Thorne’s chilling scream filled the whole dungeon, echoing throughout the empty walls. When I had had enough,I flicked my fingers in the air signaling a pause to the action.I slowly rose to my feet, hands behind my back. I stood, hovering over the bastard before me who was trembling uncontrollably from pain and exhaustion. Hands tied behind his back. “I hope you know I’m not playing around, Thorne. Tell me everything I need to know or you’re going to get worse than this. Why in the hell did you go after my life? I thought we were like family.”His lips quivered. “I have nothing to conf
