Stanley Cup Final – Game Two

Scotiabank Arena shook again for Game Two.

Toronto fans had come louder than ever, desperate to even the series. Red Maple Leafs flags waved in every section. Chants echoed through the building long before the players stepped onto the ice.

“Toronto! Toronto! Toronto!”

Vancouver’s traveling fans were there too, a small but stubborn patch of green behind the visiting bench. They waved Grizzlies banners and shouted every time Alex, Jake, or Brody touched the puck during warmups.

The tension felt thicker than the ice itself.

Security was tighter than the night before. Metal detectors lined every arena entrance. Officers stood in the aisles scanning the crowd. After the chaos in Game One, nobody was taking chances.

Somewhere in the crowd, Kane’s hunters were still watching.

The Game Begins

The puck dropped and Toronto exploded out of the gate.

Their top line attacked immediately, moving the puck quickly across the blue line. A sharp pass from the corner slipped into the slot and their winger tipped it past the goalie.

Goal.

The arena erupted.

1–0 Maple Leafs.

The Leafs bench slammed sticks against the boards while fans roared in relief.

But the Grizzlies didn’t panic.

When Alex’s line jumped over the boards, the pace of the game shifted instantly.

Jake carried the puck through center ice and dropped it back to Brody, who fired a quick pass toward the slot.

Alex caught it smoothly.

One fake to the left.

Another quick move past the defender.

Then he snapped the puck top corner.

Goal.

The crowd groaned as the scoreboard changed.

1–1.

Brody skated past Alex laughing.

“Still faster than them.”

Alex just nodded.

A Rough Battle

The second period grew physical.

Checks slammed into the boards. Sticks clattered across the ice. At one point a Leafs defender crushed Brody into the glass, drawing a loud penalty from the referees.

The Grizzlies power play unit stepped onto the ice.

Brody waited patiently near the circle while Jake held the puck at the blue line.

Then the pass came.

Alex wound up and blasted a one-timer.

The puck screamed into the top corner.

2–1 Vancouver.

Toronto tied it again late in the period after a chaotic scramble in front of the net.

The game felt destined for overtime again.

The Final Push

Late in the third period, both teams pushed hard.

Brody blocked a dangerous shot with his skate, sliding across the ice to clear the puck. The goalie followed with two huge saves that kept Vancouver alive.

With only minutes left, Jake intercepted a pass along the boards and flipped it toward center ice.

Alex chased it down.

He slipped between two defenders and snapped a quick shot past the goalie.

Goal.

3–2 Grizzlies.

The arena went silent except for the small pocket of Vancouver fans celebrating wildly.

When the final buzzer sounded, the Grizzlies had stolen another win in Toronto.

Series lead: 2–0 Vancouver.

Chaos Outside

The celebration inside the locker room was loud.

Players hugged, helmets clanged together, and the coach clapped his hands loudly.

“Two wins down,” he shouted. “But this series isn’t finished!”

Outside the arena, however, the situation turned tense again.

Security teams rushed through the stands after several flares ignited in the upper levels. Three men were arrested while trying to escape through the exits.

Hidden in their jackets were wooden stakes and knives.

Kane’s hunters were still trying.

A Quiet Moment

Later that night at the team hotel, Alex finally found a quiet moment.

Toronto’s skyline glowed outside the windows while traffic hummed far below.

Jake stepped into the room a few minutes later.

“Another win,” he said softly.

Alex leaned back against the wall.

“Leafs are getting desperate.”

Jake nodded.

“And Kane too.”

For a moment they simply stood there, letting the adrenaline fade after another intense game. The tension between them softened into something calmer.

Jake stepped closer and rested his forehead against Alex’s.

“You’re playing the best hockey of your life,” he said.

Alex smiled slightly.

“Three more wins.”

The Series Moves West

The next morning the league buzzed with headlines.

GRIZZLIES TAKE 2–0 LEAD

ALEX DOMINATES AGAIN

Victor Kane posted another threatening video online, promising that the series would end in chaos if it reached Game Seven.

The league responded by adding drone patrols above arenas and increasing security again.

But the playoffs didn’t stop.

Game Three moved west to Vancouver.

Rogers Arena sold out within minutes.

Nineteen thousand fans packed the building wearing green jerseys and waving Grizzlies flags. The noise shook the rafters when the home team stepped onto the ice.

The Night Line didn’t disappoint.

Alex scored early.

Brody added another goal minutes later.

Toronto fought back hard, but Vancouver’s speed and teamwork overwhelmed them.

Final score: 5–3 Grizzlies.

Series lead: 3–0.

The Road to the Cup

The Grizzlies were now one step closer to the Stanley Cup.

But the tension hadn’t disappeared.

Hunters still lurked among the crowds.

Victor Kane’s threats grew louder online.

And above the city, the moon slowly drifted toward the night everyone feared.

The blood moon.
