“I have been expecting you. Please have your seat,” Idris said.

“Thank you,” the middle-aged woman who stood in front of his desk thanked. She sat after.

Idris sat on his chair. He glanced up, his gaze met with Devika’s. They stared at each other for a second before Devika broke the eye contact.

She doesn’t know why, but something about this man isn’t right. He looks dangerous at the same time innocent. He was a mystery she was eager to solve.

“Excuse me,” Idris excused.

“Okay,” the lady replied.

“Good morning, sir,” Devika greeted. She hated how she was polite with him, but she had to be. This was all part of the plan.

“Name?” Idris asked. He remembered her even with a disguise. He could tell it was her from a hundred miles away. He doesn’t expect her to return his watch to him—after all, she is a thief. A high-class one at that. He doesn’t expect her to return his watch.

The question that bothered him was, why was she here? Dressed like that.

Devika opened her mouth to speak but paused. What was her name again? She can’t possibly forget her name. What is wrong with her? This isn’t her first time doing this, so why is she forgetting? As if God sent, Chloe’s voice came from the glass.

“Haram Barley,” Chloe reminded.

“Haram Barley,” Devika said.

“Hmmm,” Idris hummed, nodding his head slowly. Now he knows why she is here—on a mission. Or else why would a thief use a name for disguise? He roamed his eyes around her body. She might fool others with her undercover dressing, but not him.

Devika scoffed. She can’t believe he is a pervert. A shameless one at that—he can’t even hide it.

“I am your new PA, sir,” Devika introduced.

Idris almost scoffed. So this was her undercover work? He didn’t even see her at the interview. The PA he hired was a tall, slim, fine woman like her—brown hair and an hourglass figure. But she was nowhere near Devika’s beauty.

To top it all, his PA was supposed to start in thirty days' time. She is a high-class thief, but he’d rather classify her as a beginner.

“Matthew will show you around,” he said. He knew why she was here—to steal something huge from him, but he would let her think that she was winning until he burst her cover. It would be a fun game he is ready to play.

“Okay, sir,” Devika replied.

“Matthew is waiting for you outside. You may leave,” Idris dismissed.

Devika bowed her head shortly before leaving.

“Your PA is very beautiful and polite. Can you please give me her number? I would love to introduce her to my son,” the lady said.

Idris frowned.

“I can’t do that. You can approach her yourself,” Idris dampened, his voice firm and hard.

The lady didn’t push forward. She saw how his mood swung; she wasn’t ready to take the risk. After all, she came here for business purposes.

“So can we start?” the lady asked.

**

Devika walked out of the office. She met a guy dressed in a suit standing just a few feet away from the office.

A frown found its way and settled on her face. She stared at Matthew, staring from head to toe. His appearance alone almost made her puke. He dressed like he just walked out of a nineties movie. Even if fashion was okay, Devika just needed something to vent her frustration on.

Her mission just began, and she is already feeling sick about it. This mission isn’t gonna go as planned. She knows it, and she just can’t wait to see how it will go.

“Hi. I am Haram Barley,” Devika introduced, a slight frown on her face.

“Hi. I am Matthew, nice to meet you,” Matthew said. He stretched his hand out for a handshake. Devika stared at his hand with disgust. Such guts.

“We can skip this introduction part. Idris said you would show me around,” Devika said.

Matthew stared at her with a raised eyebrow, disbelief visible in his expression.

She just started working today, and she is already calling their boss by his name. While he has been working with Idris for four years now, he can’t even call him by his surname—only sir.

**AFTERNOON – FURIOUS THIEF’S HOUSE**

A young man lay naked under the sheets with a young lady. One of his hands wrapped around her waist, while his other hand played with her hair. They just finished having sex.

He pulled his hand down to her lower abdomen, traced it down to her V-area, and massaged her clit.

Aoife moaned in her sleep. She spread her legs wide open, giving him full access to her pussy.

Arthur trailed kisses down her neck to her breast. He moved his hand from her hair and started massaging her breast. Just before he could start sucking on them, Aoife’s eyes snapped open. She pushed his head away and closed her legs.

“Why?” Arthur questioned as he sat up on the bed.

“Know your place,” Aoife warned.

“What do I have to do so you could start seeing me as more than a sex partner?” Arthur asked.

Aoife let out a frustrated sigh. She pushed the covers away and sat up on the bed, her legs sliding into her flip-flops. Arthur sat quietly behind her, staring at her back as he waited for a reply.

Aoife gulped. She knew this would happen—that was why she kept pushing him away. But Arthur… Arthur isn’t the one to take no for an answer.

“Arthur, this was all a mistake. We were both drunk that night; this shouldn’t be happening. I—”

“Bullshit.” Arthur slammed his palm on the bed, making her flinch. He crawled close to her and hugged her from behind. His naked body pressed into her back; she could feel his member pressing on her lower back.

He grabbed her jaw roughly, and she gasped. He turned her head to the side—almost cracking her neck—till she was face to face with him. His other hand wrapped around her shoulders, pressing on her breast.

“Arthur, this isn’t right,” she managed to say.

Arthur pressed harder on her jaw. She tried to fight, but he was stronger. He easily held her down. He moved his head close to her and pushed his tongue into her mouth. He sucked every inch of her mouth before pulling away, breathing heavily.

“We are made for each other, can’t you see?” Arthur said and released her chin.

She threw a punch, and it got his nose, leaving a cut there.

“I am your leader, Arthur. You will show me respect. Now leave,” she ordered.

Arthur didn’t flinch; he stayed rooted on his spot.

“Arthur,” she called, making him roll his eyes.

“Arthur, you are like a junior brother to me,” Aoife said, and that made him frown.

Without saying another word, he got up from the bed, wore his clothes, and turned to her.

“This isn’t over,” he said, his voice sending chills down her spine.

With that, he left.

She might be ten years older than Arthur, but he gives her chills. After they mistakenly had sex that night, he wouldn’t leave her alone. He kept claiming her, calling her his. And to make it all worse, she is always defenseless around him.

“Fuck you, Arthur,” she mumbled.

The ringing of her phone distracted her. She checked the caller ID, and it was Devika.

Devika hardly calls. Without another word, she answered the call.

“Yes?”

“Aoife, I think he knows! He knows why i am here,” came Devika’s voice from over the phone.

“Who and how?” Aoife asked.

“Idris Zachariah.”

Idris’s grip stayed strong on Devika’s neck, his eyes were red with rage, blinded by rage. She was already hanging in the air.His grip tightened with each passing second. Devika’s nostrils fluttered, with snot rolling down her lips. Her eyes were red, and her veins were visible, but she didn’t try to fight him. Instead, a sinister smile appeared on her lips as she watched him keep strangling her.She had successfully unleashed the beast in him. This is the Idris she wants, the Idris she needs.Idris watched Devika with bloodshot eyes; all he wanted was to see her lifeless body on the floor of his office.“If this is what you want, I won’t stop you. I have never seen him smile before.”Murmurs spread along the office as they gossiped about Idris’s unusual happy demeanor.“All of you, return to your workspace,” Idris ordered, and they scattered into motion.“Boss, I will take my leave now. Chloe’s car was parked at the start of Riccardo's street. She had her binoculars, monitoring his villa from afar for any movement. She had been here since this afternoon, per Aoife's instructions. She hurriedly placed her binoculars in position, thinking she spotted a movement, but it was just the maid cleaning the house. She scoffed as she watched the maid closely. She has been cleaning since before she even got here.“So hygienic, huh?” She scoffed, then placed the binoculars back on her eyes, glancing at other parts of the villa.“Let's see what this motherfucker is hiding,” she murmured to herself, then jolted up and back from her seat, but the sudden knock on her car window.“Holly! Fuck!” She spat, then turned to see who it was. Her eyes widened in disbelief when she saw Jojo. The glass was tinted, but she knew he knew she already looked at him.“This motherfucker…”He signaled with his index finger for her to wind down, and she did.“What the fuck are you doing here?!” She ques

Devika shot a glare at Riccardo, then she walked out of the office, slamming the door behind her.A grin appeared on Riccardo’s face. He turned to Aoife only to see her standing on her feet. She wasn’t smiling, nor was she frowning. He took long strides towards her, his boots hitting the marbled floor, its sound speaking more than wealth. He turned around the table, standing in front of Aoife. The grin on his face grew wider. Aoife stared at him with nothing but hatred. Her eyes seemed to bore holes in his skin, but it was all her imagination.“I did what you asked. Now, return the evidence you have,” Aoife demanded, palms stretched out, filling the little space between them.“Tsk, tsk, tsk, Aoife…” Riccardo said. He took a step forward, his cologne filled her nostrils as he invaded her personal space.“I must have misjudged you. I thought you were all tough and smart. You seriously believed what I said,” Riccardo mocked, watching Aoife’s expression closely.A look of realization flas
