Devika scoffed. “I didn’t agree to this mission just to be exposed on my first day!”

“I don’t think he knows. Or have you two met before?” Aoife questioned, her eyebrows slightly raised.

“That isn’t the topic. I don’t know how you are going to do this, but get it fixed or I drop the mission,” Devika spoke. With that, she ended the call.

Aoife let out a sigh. She was starting to doubt. Is she really the leader of this gang or just a tool?

With an eye roll, she stood on her feet and walked into the bathroom.

**PJ-TWENTY FIVE – Female Restroom**

“Fuck,” Devika cursed. She turned on the tap, watching her hands before touching her makeup.

Her entire system was shaking, on the brink of collapsing. She doesn’t know how someone could hold such an aura. As much as she hates to admit it, she can’t deny that he could see through people. She was starting to wonder if he was even human.

The way he stares—it feels like he’s reading your fucking mind. Nevertheless, she was gonna get through this. *Fake it till it’s real*—that was their theme. She was gonna fake being his PA so well that he’d doubt himself.

She turned to leave when she saw another woman leaning on the toilet door.

Devika’s eyebrows twisted into a frown. *How the hell did she get in?* She remembered locking the door. Or she must’ve picked up the lock.

She stepped forward. “How much did you hear?” Devika questioned.

The lady’s gaze traveled to her ID. “Enough to know that you’re an imposter,” the woman spoke, her arms folded under her breasts.

“Poking noses in people’s business is dangerous. I thought I should remind you,” Devika said.

Her gaze suddenly darkened, her voice low with a deadly edge as she spoke.

“Now you know that I’m an imposter. If I were you, I would keep my mouth shut and pretend like I never heard anything.”

Devika’s gaze flickered to her ID. A smirk appeared on her lips when she saw the lady shift in fright.

“Julia. You wouldn’t want to be an orphan overnight, would you?” Devika questioned.

Julia gulped the invisible lump that formed in her throat. Sensing how defenseless she had become, Devika continued to bid her goodbye.

“I will see you around, Julia.” With that, Devika opened the door and walked out of the restroom.

She entered the office she shared with Matthew, only to find him arranging some files.

Devika stared at him, wondering why he was in such a hurry. Then it hit her—the meeting.

Matthew looked up from his desk, only to see her standing there like a statue. “You took your time in the restroom,” he said.

She snapped out of her thoughts. She had been staring at him, but her mind wasn’t with him. She was thinking about how to keep her cover in front of Idris. One wrong move, and her ass was out.

She didn’t respond to him and just walked to her desk. She took her fake phone and a file.

“I’ll be with Idris,” she said.

Matthew stared at her with one eyebrow raised. He couldn’t get used to her calling his boss by his name.

As for Devika, she just couldn’t bring down her pride. She would only call him *sir* in front of him.

She catwalked to his office, swaying her hips behind her. She reached his office, placed a knock on the door, twisted the knob, and walked in.

She saw him seated behind his desk, his attention on the files in front of him. He didn’t even look up to acknowledge her presence. She scoffed uncontrollably.

“Good afternoon, sir,” Devika greeted.

He nodded his head, making her almost scoff again.

She hated being ignored. She was used to having all the attention. But Idris? It fucking annoyed her when he ignored her. *Who the fuck does he think he is?*

She shot him a glare, then folded her arms across her chest.

“Good afternoon, sir,” Devika greeted again.

Idris raised his eyebrows, but he didn’t look up. Of course, he had heard her the first time—he’d even given her a nod. So why was she greeting him again?

He hummed, brushing it off.

If glares could kill, Idris would’ve been drowning in his own pool of blood. Devika cleared her throat, then straightened her back.

He was gonna look at her, and she would make sure of that. She hadn’t walked past a man without them turning their heads to stare. But here he was—Idris Zachariah—trying to break her ego. She wasn’t gonna back down until he at least acknowledged her presence.

“Good afternoon, sir,” she greeted again, her voice higher than before.

A frown appeared on Idris’s face. *What was she trying to do?* He glanced up, noticing how she gulped and dropped her hands from her chest.

Their gazes met. He had expected her to look away, but she didn’t. Instead, she held his gaze. *Interesting.* Not only was she a thief, she was also daring.

He breathed out and sat up straight, resting his back on the chair.

“Ms. Barley, do you have a problem?” he questioned, his voice deep and calm, sending sizzles down her spine.

Devika frowned slightly. *Why was she feeling like that? What was this feeling? And why was Idris of all people responsible for it?*

Her gaze landed on his open chest. His muscular chest did nothing but make her gulp. His sleeves were rolled up, and the first four buttons of his shirt were undone.

*Did he do that on purpose to seduce her?*

She could feel herself getting wet already. As much as she hated the way her body was reacting, she couldn’t control it. She bit her bottom lip uncontrollably.

Idris saw that and raised an eyebrow. He noticed her rubbing her thighs together, thinking he wouldn’t notice—but he did.

He almost smiled but held himself back. *Not only is she a thief, she’s also a little slut—getting wet at the sight of his chest.*

He snapped out of his thoughts.

“Ms. Barley,” he called, snapping her out of hers.

Devika gulped in embarrassment. She bit her lower lip again, and Idris’s eyes followed the movement.

“Sir,” she called.

The air was filled with tension, and she didn’t know how to break it. She suddenly remembered why she had come and sighed.

“I’ll get your suit and tie,” she said and turned to walk away.

“I don’t like ties,” Idris said.

Devika nodded without turning back and walked to the closet in his office. A few moments later, she returned with a black suit and black sleeves to match his pants.

Her attention was on the clothes in her hands, not wanting to trip and drop any of them.

But the moment she glanced forward, she halted in her steps and let go of the clothes.

Idris was completely naked on his upper body. He had already unbuttoned his shirt when she returned. He turned to her and raised his eyebrows.

“Ms. Barley.”

Idris stared at Devika like she had just said a whole lot of shit. His face slowly turned into a smirk as he stared at her. She blinked repeatedly like she was trying to hypnotize him, but he knew all of these tricks. Gold digger. That was what she was, a gold digger. She was a thief, who came to his company with a fake identity and fake purpose. Not only did she do that, she stole from him. His grandfather’s watch. Speaking of the watch, he had totally forgotten about it. “Why would I make you my date?” he questioned. Devika smirked, her gaze flickered with mischief. She walked around his table then stopped beside him, turned his chair to her, caging him between her arms. “I am your PA, and from what I’ve learned, you’ve never had a woman in your life,” Devika spoke confidently. Idris continued staring at her without looking away, and Devika, she returned his stares. Making direct eye contact with him without any intention to break it. She felt a sudden shift in the

Idris sat on his desk deep in thought. A pile of files were lined up on his desk, resulting from the works of yesterday. As he sat on the chair, elbow resting on the desk with palm under his chin. His body was present but his mind wasn’t. He was too deep in thought to even notice his surrounding. With eyes closed, he couldn’t help but think back to his interrogation with Dexter. FLASHBACK TO YESTERDAY’S BEACH In the dark of the night, where the ocean collided with the shore, Idris stood on the seashore with Dexter kneeling before him, while Dickson stood behind Dexter. The cool night breeze blew his hair to the back. Both of his hands were in his pocket as he stared down at the trembling Dexter. Dickson stepped closer and removed the black cloth from his head. Dexter bent before raising it up. The moment his eyes met Idris’ lifeless ones, he shivered but managed to force a grin out. The simple action enraged Idris. He felt the urge to put his hands on Dexter’

Aoife climbed down from the taxi with a grumpy look on her face, walking to her house. She didn’t go to the gang house tonight, not after what had happened. Idris killed Logan before they could even get to him. He killed their information for their next mission. To make matters worst. Devika didn’t take matters lightly. She was so furious that she attacked Idris, grabbing him by the neck with red eyes. But he only stared at her with a smirk. He didn’t touch her, he let her hit him on the wall. But she only did that because he left Logan’s brother, that was the only reason Devika didn’t go savage. Idris had let them have Logan’s brother without questioning. He didn’t even seem surprised when he saw them. Instead he only let out a smirk when Devika punched him. To make it all creepy, he called her name and told her he was gonna see her at work tomorrow. “So he really knows who she is”Aoife muttered to herself, walking into her apartment building. Since they got Logan’s brother. S

“We come in peace,” Dickson said. He exchanged a knowing glance with Idris. In the next second, he drew out his blade from his holster, and Idris drew out his gun. They did it so fast that the men didn’t see it coming. Dickson’s knife went straight to the man standing behind him; he slit his throat, killing him instantly. Dickson didn’t let go of the man—he used him as a bulletproof shield, attacking the man who aimed at him. Idris wasn’t left out. He had shot the man behind him in the head and the one standing as guard at the main door—he shot him in the forehead. Right now, he was in a fistfight with the other two as Dickson took on the remaining two men. He successfully shot down one of the men, hitting him directly in the head. He turned to face the other man, only for the man to throw a punch at his face. Idris gritted his teeth in fury. He raised his fist and it met the man’s forehead, sending him flying. His back hit the wall, and he dropped to the floor unconscious.

RED HOTEL ROOM 205 The smell of alcohol and cigarettes filled the air as three men sat on their separate chairs. The ashtray was covered with already burnt cigarettes. One of the men sitting on a couch crashed his cigar on the ashtray in front of him letting out a chocked laughter as he leaned back on the couch. He had a viper tattoo on his neck running into his forehead. He wore a versace robe with versace slippers. His teeth were gold with the gold chain round his neck, giving him the gangstar vibe. His eyes were completely red due to how much smoke he had consumed. He is Logan, the one devika is hunting tonight. Sitting separately from Logan is Dexter dragon, Idris pray. Dexter was dressed in a fine silk black robe, he had a scar on his right eye, it made its way to his cheek. Tatto covered the exposed parts in his arm and chest. Beside Dexter was another man, Logan's twin. He wore extremely the same clothes as Logan, the same tattoo. Surrounding the room were seven bodyguards,

IDRIS CASTLE Inside a red room, lined with plush red carpet, stood Idris and Dickson. He held a pistol in his hand, checking it out, while Dickson picked up the knives. He was more skilled in combat and using knives. The walls of the room were lined with shelves, each used as a weapons hanger. Guns, knives—name it—they were all present. “You sure you don’t need anything else other than that pistol?” Dickson questioned, his gaze sweeping from Idris to his knives. Without replying, Idris holstered his gun into the shoulder holster. He wore a suit jacket to cover the holster. “You done packing?” Idris asked instead. “Yeah,” Dickson answered. “I am starting to think. Matthew called you, right?” Dickson questioned. “Yes, he did,” Idris answered with raised eyebrows. “He told you the Haram girl… or what’s her real name again?” “You mean Devika?” Idris questioned. “Yes, the Devika. Matthew said she emailed him saying she won’t come to work today—that was what you said,”
