Devika scoffed. “I didn’t agree to this mission just to be exposed on my first day!”

“I don’t think he knows. Or have you two met before?” Aoife questioned, her eyebrows slightly raised.

“That isn’t the topic. I don’t know how you are going to do this, but get it fixed or I drop the mission,” Devika spoke. With that, she ended the call.

Aoife let out a sigh. She was starting to doubt. Is she really the leader of this gang or just a tool?

With an eye roll, she stood on her feet and walked into the bathroom.

**PJ-TWENTY FIVE – Female Restroom**

“Fuck,” Devika cursed. She turned on the tap, watching her hands before touching her makeup.

Her entire system was shaking, on the brink of collapsing. She doesn’t know how someone could hold such an aura. As much as she hates to admit it, she can’t deny that he could see through people. She was starting to wonder if he was even human.

The way he stares—it feels like he’s reading your fucking mind. Nevertheless, she was gonna get through this. *Fake it till it’s real*—that was their theme. She was gonna fake being his PA so well that he’d doubt himself.

She turned to leave when she saw another woman leaning on the toilet door.

Devika’s eyebrows twisted into a frown. *How the hell did she get in?* She remembered locking the door. Or she must’ve picked up the lock.

She stepped forward. “How much did you hear?” Devika questioned.

The lady’s gaze traveled to her ID. “Enough to know that you’re an imposter,” the woman spoke, her arms folded under her breasts.

“Poking noses in people’s business is dangerous. I thought I should remind you,” Devika said.

Her gaze suddenly darkened, her voice low with a deadly edge as she spoke.

“Now you know that I’m an imposter. If I were you, I would keep my mouth shut and pretend like I never heard anything.”

Devika’s gaze flickered to her ID. A smirk appeared on her lips when she saw the lady shift in fright.

“Julia. You wouldn’t want to be an orphan overnight, would you?” Devika questioned.

Julia gulped the invisible lump that formed in her throat. Sensing how defenseless she had become, Devika continued to bid her goodbye.

“I will see you around, Julia.” With that, Devika opened the door and walked out of the restroom.

She entered the office she shared with Matthew, only to find him arranging some files.

Devika stared at him, wondering why he was in such a hurry. Then it hit her—the meeting.

Matthew looked up from his desk, only to see her standing there like a statue. “You took your time in the restroom,” he said.

She snapped out of her thoughts. She had been staring at him, but her mind wasn’t with him. She was thinking about how to keep her cover in front of Idris. One wrong move, and her ass was out.

She didn’t respond to him and just walked to her desk. She took her fake phone and a file.

“I’ll be with Idris,” she said.

Matthew stared at her with one eyebrow raised. He couldn’t get used to her calling his boss by his name.

As for Devika, she just couldn’t bring down her pride. She would only call him *sir* in front of him.

She catwalked to his office, swaying her hips behind her. She reached his office, placed a knock on the door, twisted the knob, and walked in.

She saw him seated behind his desk, his attention on the files in front of him. He didn’t even look up to acknowledge her presence. She scoffed uncontrollably.

“Good afternoon, sir,” Devika greeted.

He nodded his head, making her almost scoff again.

She hated being ignored. She was used to having all the attention. But Idris? It fucking annoyed her when he ignored her. *Who the fuck does he think he is?*

She shot him a glare, then folded her arms across her chest.

“Good afternoon, sir,” Devika greeted again.

Idris raised his eyebrows, but he didn’t look up. Of course, he had heard her the first time—he’d even given her a nod. So why was she greeting him again?

He hummed, brushing it off.

If glares could kill, Idris would’ve been drowning in his own pool of blood. Devika cleared her throat, then straightened her back.

He was gonna look at her, and she would make sure of that. She hadn’t walked past a man without them turning their heads to stare. But here he was—Idris Zachariah—trying to break her ego. She wasn’t gonna back down until he at least acknowledged her presence.

“Good afternoon, sir,” she greeted again, her voice higher than before.

A frown appeared on Idris’s face. *What was she trying to do?* He glanced up, noticing how she gulped and dropped her hands from her chest.

Their gazes met. He had expected her to look away, but she didn’t. Instead, she held his gaze. *Interesting.* Not only was she a thief, she was also daring.

He breathed out and sat up straight, resting his back on the chair.

“Ms. Barley, do you have a problem?” he questioned, his voice deep and calm, sending sizzles down her spine.

Devika frowned slightly. *Why was she feeling like that? What was this feeling? And why was Idris of all people responsible for it?*

Her gaze landed on his open chest. His muscular chest did nothing but make her gulp. His sleeves were rolled up, and the first four buttons of his shirt were undone.

*Did he do that on purpose to seduce her?*

She could feel herself getting wet already. As much as she hated the way her body was reacting, she couldn’t control it. She bit her bottom lip uncontrollably.

Idris saw that and raised an eyebrow. He noticed her rubbing her thighs together, thinking he wouldn’t notice—but he did.

He almost smiled but held himself back. *Not only is she a thief, she’s also a little slut—getting wet at the sight of his chest.*

He snapped out of his thoughts.

“Ms. Barley,” he called, snapping her out of hers.

Devika gulped in embarrassment. She bit her lower lip again, and Idris’s eyes followed the movement.

“Sir,” she called.

The air was filled with tension, and she didn’t know how to break it. She suddenly remembered why she had come and sighed.

“I’ll get your suit and tie,” she said and turned to walk away.

“I don’t like ties,” Idris said.

Devika nodded without turning back and walked to the closet in his office. A few moments later, she returned with a black suit and black sleeves to match his pants.

Her attention was on the clothes in her hands, not wanting to trip and drop any of them.

But the moment she glanced forward, she halted in her steps and let go of the clothes.

Idris was completely naked on his upper body. He had already unbuttoned his shirt when she returned. He turned to her and raised his eyebrows.

“Ms. Barley.”

**KINDS THE WAY LAUNDRY** It’s been almost five minutes since Devika arrived here. She stood in front of the receptionist filling the form they gave her. After she was done, she slid it to the receptionist, who wore light-red lipstick, a scarf around her neck, her hair tied in a low bun, and a suit with a pencil skirt and heels that matched her outfit. “I am done,” Devika said. She slid the paper to the receptionist, who took it with a smile on her face. She examined the paper, then looked up at Devika. “Okay, miss, you can come back to take them tomorrow morning,” the receptionist said. Devika walked out of the building without saying another word. She met the driver outside; he stood in front of the car waiting for her. “Are we leaving now?” he asked. “No, to your mother’s house,” Devika answered. His face twisted into a frown, but Devika cared less. She entered the car, and he did the same. **IDRIS OFFICE** Idris stood behind the floor-to-ceiling window. His hands wer

Arthur stood on his feet, ready to leave when Riccardo stopped him. "Leaving so soon? I thought since we rarely see you, you would love to stay for lunch," Riccardo said with a pout. Arthur turned to him angrily. "If you think I give a damn about you or anything, then eat my dick, asshole," Arthur snapped through gritted teeth. Riccardo scoffed as he approached Arthur, his hands behind his back. "That’s disgusting," Riccardo sneered. "Let’s do something fun—let’s make a deal." He stood just a few feet away from Arthur. Arthur let out a scoff, tilting his head to the side. He turned his back to Riccardo with a mocking grin on his face, his eyes holding nothing but mischief. "Looks like you’re forgetting who I am to you—the bastard brother," Arthur reminded. Arthur was the product of a one-night stand, the illegitimate son, while Riccardo was the legitimate one. Arthur’s mother and father met during a business trip in Africa; they had a one-night stand on the beach. What was mea

"Really?" Idris questioned. His gaze shifted to the coffee then back to her face. His dreary gaze bore holes into her skin. What followed was an ephemeral silence. Idris took his gaze back to the cup of coffee, he then stared back at her face. His gaze was searching for any ominous sign. His gaze scooted back to the coffee. "Is it poisoned?" Idris questioned with uncertainty. She shrugged. "I don’t know. You should try it, maybe when you die I will use your dead body to get what I want," Devika asserted. Idris darted a glare at her, but it only made her chuckle. "What? Are you scared? The almighty Idris Zachariah is scared!" Devika snickered. "Why don’t you have a test first?" Idris suggested, leaning back on his chair. His right hand rested on the desk, while his other hand sat on his thigh. He swung the chair to the side, facing his left. Eyes on Devika. "You should have a test, please be my guest," Idris said. Devika didn’t argue. She strode to the desk and picked up the

NEXT DAY, FURIOUS THIEF GANG HOUSE. MORNING.** Aoife walked alone in a hallway. Her heels clicked the floor as she walked down the hall. She was dressed in a bodysuit with high-heeled boots. After the successful mission last night, she didn’t even care about food. She was so exhausted that she retired to bed without having dinner. She planned to sleep till the next morning, but her brain didn’t let her. Her mind kept drifting back to Riccardo. She doesn’t understand the reason she felt the urge to see him, but she just wants to be with him. The joy at every successful mission that made her celebrate and end up drunk in a bar, resulting in obsessed Arthur—she didn’t feel it this time. Instead, she felt guilt eating her up. Her face twisted into a frown, and she pushed the thought to the back of her mind. She pushed open the grand door in the hallway and walked into the room—the dining room. All of the gang members were present, eating their breakfast. She walked to her seat, an

Diana managed to hide behind a pillar. The security who came inside to inspect stood at the door far from the death beams. His gaze traveled round the room. He took a step back and opened the door, expecting to see someone come out but nobody did. With one last glance, he turned and walked out of the room closing the door behind him. Diana breathed out in relief. She walked back to the jewelries. “You know we can't just take them right? We have to replace them with a counterfeit or something identical,” Diana said staring at the jewelries. “Yep! Check your left, there is a bag of clone jewelries exactly the same as the original. File them according to their original,” Chloe said. Diana did as instructed. She took every clone filing them back in the case immediately she took the original. She filed the jewelries in a bag. She tried lifting it and her back made a crack. “Fuck! This shit is heavier than my life problems,” Diana muttered. “Diana you got incoming. Be out in a min
