Rejection

Olive saw Gabriella first and she grinned as she continued riding on her sister’s boyfriend and mate.

“Don’t be mean Olive, hold on” Kyle said between his moan and pushed Olive to the side.

“What have I done to you, Olive?” Her lips trembled with salty tears flowing freely “You’re getting married soon so why?”

“What nonsense,” Olive said dismissively.

“But you claim to love me, Gabriella? Yet you didn’t tell me about your curse. If you’re not as evil as they say you are, why do you want my death like you’ve done to innocent guys who loved you” Kyle confronted aggressively.

“No I promise you are different, you’re the only one that can…”

“Oh shut up Gabe! Loving you caused those people’s death and I’m not ready to die. I would rather be with your sweet stepsister than accept you as my mate” he lashed out firmly.

Gabriella’s legs failed her at the moment and she fell to the ground in pain, clutching her fragile heart.

“We need to get out of here before he rejects us! The pain is horrible Gabe” Her inner wolf warns but she’s got no strength left in her.

“You always get the boys back then in school but so funny you couldn’t keep this one” Olive laughed at her sarcastically.

“Go on and reject her right this instant baby” Olive commanded.

Her life is ruined because of her stepsister. A full-blooded hater and the devil. She has always disliked the fact that Gabriella had everything despite being nobody compared to her.

“For you’re a cursed one, I Kyle Grimes reject you, Gabriella Edward, as my fated mate!”

Gabriella felt her heart shattered into a thousand pieces at the disclaimed end of her hope. Her eyes welled up with tears. She scrambled through her blurred vision to find her bag and then heaved herself off the floor.

Her wolf inker sobs in pain “Accept the rejection now so we can live”

“I’m sorry Inker” she muttered dejectedly.

“I…” she uttered with hitched breath.

“I, Gabriella Edward accept the rejection,” she declared and immediately she felt the mate bond severed, Gabriella turned around to escape from the sinful room.

Plunging into the dark night with broken pieces of her heart in hand, she was so lost in her thoughts that she didn’t bother to stop a taxi. She walked past the bus station like a mad woman. Her hair looked chaotic from constant scratching and her shoes were wet and covered in mud.

Gabriella walked for hours subconsciously, lost in thought and questioning the moon goddess about her life. At one point, she tripped over and lost one of her shoes but she didn’t stop walking.

“Crash!” A screeching sound echoed from the far distance penetrating into Gabriella thoughts.

Her swollen eyes turned with grogginess, gazing at the far distance as she reduced her pace. After taking a closer look, her mouth came open in shock and she ran over to the scene.

It turns out that a car had crashed into a nearby tree and the front of the car was damaged already.

Gabriella walked over the shattered glass barefoot not minding to get hurt but desperate to save the life of the driver before anything got worse.

She pulled the car door with her strength but was also careful not to show her werewolf side in case the driver should be a human. They are living in a city where order is to be maintained else the careless ones will have to answer to the three legendary Lycan kings controlling the city.

Pulling the door from its hinges, Gabriella saw a man bleeding profusely and his head on the steering wheel. She leaned forward to raise his head and was welcomed to the most royal features ever. His Jade colored eyes shielding away briefly with the heaviness of his eyelids at the moment. She was lost in the beauty of the man for a moment but then a groan from him smacked her back to reality.

“Are you okay?” She asked with more tears streaming down her face.

The man’s eyes opened but a frown followed. His beautiful feature quickly replaced with an undefeatable icy wall.

“Get your hands off me, you filthy thing!” He groaned in a low voice.

Confusion wore on Gabriella’s face but she was quick to dismiss it. She tried calling for help but her phone was dead.

“Where’s your phone? I’ll call for help” she asked the second question.

“Find it…” he said pointing at the space under the wheel.

“So rude for a dying man “ Gabriella muttered as she bent over to find his phone. With her face close to the man’s chest she searched the floor with her hands and finally, she found the phone.

While trying to stand up in the uncomfortable position, her blue eye necklace got caught and fell off her neck.

The man felt a strange surge of energy at once and he took a deep inhale like a vampire attracted to blood.

The man grabbed Gabriella’s arm tightly and his green eyes switched to a red blazing one. His wounds closed up at once like they were never there.

Startled, Gabriella picked up her necklace and tried to free herself.

“This is no way to handle a fellow species” she cried.

“I found you RENA,” The man said with a wide smile, his brows narrowed dangerously at her but the constant flickering of the spirited green light in those eyes shows the level of pain he's struggling with.

The man’s deadly expression sent a shiver through her spine and Gabriella shuddered in fear. A cold feeling of death came over her and she became frozen in fear.

“Werewolf? What insubordination to compare me to the lower creatures” he groaned.

His body moved and he came on top of Gabriella, his huge body dominating her small frame.

With hitched breath and her protection necklace in hand, she shook terribly under the strange man. Her eyes went to his arms filled with tattoos but her senses weren’t working at the moment to decipher the details of the tattoo.

“L… let go of me “ she cried out and pushed him off with the strength in her legs.

The man groaned, holding his head against a sudden migraine that befell him and Gabriella ran out of the car immediately.

Standing far away from the car, she pants heavily to catch her breath as she wore her necklace.

“I will find you!”

She heard the man’s voice clearly despite standing so far away and strangely, she felt a connection to him.
