Chapter 6 - Birthday Party

Jennifer quickly ran to Kate's room and sat down in the bed, breathing heavily.

Ethan is so handsome and hot. He looks like a model in magazines. He is handsome but he is so arrogant. He doesn't have manners at all. He talked so rudely with me, she felt immense anger at him.

"Where are you lost?" Kate's voice brought her back from her thoughts.

"Nothing." Jennifer said and went near her to do her makeup.

"Is your burned neck still in pain?" She asked, feeling bad for her.

"Yeah but not much. BTW, who is the guy in the right corridor?" Jennifer asked about the half-naked man whom she saw!

"The guy in the right corridor? Ohh, are you talking about Stefan? He is my cousin." Kate said while blending the foundation on her face.

"Ohh." Jennifer exclaimed.

"Why did you ask?" Kate asked, glancing at her.

"Actually when I was coming with the coffee, I forgot the way to your room. I went to the right corridor and went into his room. Eww! He is so shameless. He was flirting with me. Somehow escaped from him. Then I ran and bumped into your brother." Jennifer said and started doing her makeup.

"Perfect." Jennifer said, looking at her and giving her the dress and the matching accessories.

"Now go and wear the dress." Jennifer said and she went to change.

Jennifer did light makeup on her face and tied her hair into a messy bun.

"How am I looking?" She heard Kate's voice so she turned around to look back

and there she was, looking like a Princess.

"You are looking like a fairy." Jennifer said, hugging her.

"Thanks. What are you waiting for? You also change your dress." Kate said Jennifer nodded.

She wore the gown with matching accessories and paired the dress with nude heels. She came out of the changing room and suddenly her heels got stuck at the bottom of the dress.

She lost her balance and fell with a thud.

"Aahh!" She screamed in pain.

"OMG! Jennifer, are you okay?" Kate came running towards her and helped her to get up.

"Are you hurt? Should I call a doctor?" Kate asked, panicking as she was very worried for her.

"I am okay." Jennifer said timidly.

She thanked God as her head wasn't bleeding because of the fall. She looked at her dress and it was torn very badly.

"Don't worry. I will give you one of my dresses." She said, looking at the dress and going to her walking closet.

After a minute, she came back with a white dress and gave it to her. Jennifer looked at that dress carefully and was surprised as it was a strapless mesh dress.

"I can't wear this dress. It's quite revealing and if I wear this dress, people will call me names!" Jennifer said, whining.

"Who gives a fuck about other's opinions? You will look super sexy in this dress. Go and change!" Kate said more like ordered and Jennifer's cheeks heated up.

"I don't want to look sexy. Give me a decent dress." Jennifer said, pouting cutely.

"I do have some decent dresses but they aren't suitable for the party. The guests are already here. I have to make my entry. Hurry up." Kate and pushed her into the changing room.

Jennifer wore the dress Kate had given to her.

In the previous dress, I was looking beautiful but in this, I am looking freaking hot, she thought checking herself out in the mirror and blushing hard.

"Jennifer, hurry up. We are getting late." Kate said, pacing around the room.

"In a minute!" Jennifer said loudly.

She opened her bun to free her hair so it could cover her bare shoulders and she breathed peacefully feeling glad of her long hair. This time slowly she walked out of the changing room and fake coughed to gain Kate's attention.

"You are looking damn hot." Kate whistled looking at her up and down.

"So many men are going to stare at you tonight." Kate said teasingly and Jennifer huffed.

"Don't tease me. I don't want to grab anyone's attention." Jennifer said combing her hair.

"Come, let's go downstairs." Kate said and they left the room.

They were coming down the stairs and Jennifer saw that many guests had come. They all looked so rich and they dressed so gracefully.

Suddenly she started feeling that she doesn't belong there. On the last step of the stairs, her feet twisted and she fell on someone.

Today was very unlucky for me, she thought, cursing her fate.

That person held her waist in a tight grip. Her one hand was on his shoulder and the other one was clutching his shirt in a tight grip.

She looked up to see who the person was and he was none other than Ethan.

Why does it always have to be him? She thought as she kept bumping into him.

He was looking at her eyes deeply like he was searching for something and then his gaze went to her neck which was bandaged. He touched her neck and she winced in pain.

"Don't you think our first meeting was very painful for you? Think, what will happen next?" He said passing her an evil smirk.

He gave her a little push and she stumbled on her feet then he went away leaving her shocked.

"Did he give me a threat? Why?" She asked herself while looking at him while he was talking to Stefan.

"Why are you standing here? Come with me." Kate said, holding her shoulder and starting dragging her.

Jennifer saw that many men were looking at her and she smiled at them awkwardly while Kate was taking her toward her mom.

"My both daughters are looking so pretty." Mrs. King said happily.

"Thank you, mom." They both said together and kissed her cheeks.

Suddenly, she felt someone's deep gaze on her and she looked around to see that Ethan was looking at her with rage. She looked away from him, getting scared of his bloodshot eyes.

"Mom, why isn't dad coming today? Is work more important than me?" Kate asked, pouting feeling sad.

"It's not like that, Kate. He wanted to come but he got stuck at work." Mrs. King said and she started feeling sad too looking at her sad face.

"Don't be sad. A big surprise is waiting for you." Mrs. King said, smiling broadly.

Before Kate could ask anything, the lights went off and they heard someone's voice.
