Chapter 3: Friendships

One Month Later

Roman

I have been in bed going over in my head if I want to do this, I have been torn but there is no going back now. I have planned a dinner and this will tell if I can trust Ty or Drax to join me and kill Aidan, supporting me as King. I would hate to kill my best friends because I do love Ty and Drax, they always had my back and protected me most nights from my stepfather. I would hate to hurt Stella as I love her like my own mother and Drax's mom is the best, she always called me her second son. Aidan's birthday is in a few months and we plan to celebrate it in hopes of him finding a Queen but I know he won't, I assume he will choose Addison but I do have my eye on someone to become my Queen, she just came back to the land and she is beautiful. I was brought out of my thoughts when I heard a knock on the door and it was Ty. He has been a little more aggressive and ruthless with the rogues and warriors lately and I need to know where his head is at, "Come in," I said.

Ty walked in and said, "I am here to check on you, you have been distant lately," and I smiled because he was right, I have been busy getting things in order, I was taking over soon and being the best King I knew I could be. Ty explained he had a lot on his mind lately and he just blows off steam but he will go easy on the warriors when he trains them, and Toffe will be in attendance at the dinner because his mother wanted to be alone, this was the anniversary of losing her mate and I knew how she felt, I killed my mate after she rejected me to be with a fucking farmer. I was excited because I loved Toffe, he reminded me of the child I could have been before the abuse started. After a long heartfelt chat, he went back to his duties and I went back to mine, the day was dying down and I decided to go and prepare a farewell dinner unknown to them of their impending deaths and although I will be losing a part of me, the riches and being King will make up for it.

I can get new best friends who are loyal to me, I walked down to the dinner party and the others were already there, there were jesters and music and the clanging of wine glasses and mugs along with endless chatter and laughter. I watched Ty talking to Judi, someone he kept in his bed on most days, "Maybe, he was thinking about taking her as a mate," I thought. Aidan had Addison on his arm and the more I saw her, the more I couldn't stand her, she kept refusing my advances because she loved Aidan so much. I am tempted to have her killed too but Erik wants her and I already promised that he could have her. The dinner was in full swing and the jokes were coming and the food was delicious, we talked about our childhood and we went down memory lane. I watched Drax's eyes light up at the fact that he loves his 'blood brother' and I knew he wasn't going to shift his loyalty, maybe if I used his mate against him, only if it wasn't forbidden, it would work.

Honestly, I would prefer Drax on my side, his abilities are amazing and would come in handy but he would never flip on Aidan, so he will die with him. Ty, on the other hand, I know for sure would be a great asset, his fighting skills his strength, his intelligence on legal matters, and his negotiating skills are almost better than mine, his annoying cocky ass would do great. I heard his toast and there is no way he would join me, sucks to be him, what a waste it will be. He was the perfect killing machine and he enjoyed the bloodshed, the only problem is, you never really see him angry but once he laughs, run! Once he starts to kill, don't interrupt either, most people fear him once he is in kill mode and I love that about him but he has to go, he is the only one I know would stop my plan if he gets the upper hand. The best friends that I know would protect me, they would also protect me from myself and kill me if they knew what I had planned.

Drax walked over to me and had a smile on his face, he told me he was leaving, he had a date with Ryker, I hugged him and the big teddy bear linked me, "What's wrong?" I told him, "I am proud of you, and good luck," and he replied with the biggest smile, "I know, thank you for loving and supporting me," we hugged again before he ran off. I admit, I will miss him, I hated that I had to kill him because of his loyalty to Aidan but keeping him alive will be too dangerous at this point. I heard his howl in the background and I knew he had just changed into his wolf to go and see Ryker. Ty was looking at Addison in disgust and I smiled because maybe I was not the only one she turned down, he bowed to Aidan before taking his leave with Judi.

Addison kissed Aidan before heading back to her quarters, it was late and I walked over to Aidan who was speaking with Amon. Aidan smiled at me and we shook hands, he said, "This was amazing, Roman, I love you, you know that right?" We did the sign for Blood Brothers forever and I nearly cried, I told him I was turning in and he smiled before I walked away. This will be the last time we spend any time together because I will be taking over soon, then that's when I heard Drax growl, the growl of a man who was rejected and I knew that feeling.

Ty

Drax had been missing until Aidan got the message that he was in Faeora, he was feral and I knew only one thing could cause that because they were in love off and on for years. That bond had grown, I told Aidan, "I will handle it," and I changed into my wolf took two guards with me and we ran to Faeora. I was worried about Drax all the way there and when I got there, I was greeted by Cayden who handed us clothes, we walked to his room, he was asleep and I felt his pain. I had rejected my mate and it still hurts because she didn't accept it, Tank wanted me to fight for her, and I couldn't betray Aidan so I was willing to let her go. I stayed there for three days because that was how long he was out and trust me, I had fun, damn, the Fae knows how to show you a good time, and the women, damn, my dick was wet the whole time I was here. Drax informed me he was not ready to return but I had to go back, I told him I would do his duty along with mine until he returned and I left Faeora promising to visit the Fae twins again soon.

On arrival to the Kingdom, I was ambushed again by rogues and I took them out, I was furious and decided I will focus on their hideout to stomp this shit out. I informed Aidan what had happened, he felt bad about the rejection but wanted to give Drax and Ryker their privacy, Ryker was our friend too, and it was obvious that he was pressured into it. Aidan promised to work with the Elders at a later date to make a law about accepting same-sex mates so that we don't have this happening ever again in our Kingdom, but it will not be an easy fight, I offered to help with the legality of the law. Three weeks had passed and we received word that Drax was on his way with his second chance mate, we were shocked, that usually never happens, finding your fated mate was rare and could take years, but finding a second chance mate was unheard of. This is why there are so many chosen mates around, sometimes you get tired of waiting, and the fact that your mate may never be born for centuries sucks.

Roman was just as shocked as me and decided to meet them down at the gate and I went back to work. On my way there, I smelled Addison in my office and I wanted to leave. I had been avoiding her since the rejection and maybe she was here to accept it finally because feeling her have sex with Aidan before she spells herself, drives me crazy. Addison was sitting waiting on me and smiled before asking, "How are you, Ty?" I said, "Good, now leave," and she said, "Don't be like this, I need time, okay," and I yelled, "Time! Time for what? Just accept the rejection and let us be free of this chain binding us together," my heart was hurting telling her this but I wanted it to hurt her too but she said, "I'm sorry about the other night." She handed me a potion so I wouldn't feel her anymore and she wouldn't feel me, I drank it and said, "Go." I watched my ex-mate walk out to go be with my best friend and I was furious, I jumped out my window and changed into my wolf, I ran for hours burning off my anger, and killing a few rogues in the process but it felt amazing.
