Chapter 37

Inside the supermarket, Jennet was not paying attention to her shopping. She took whatever she saw. Her mind was occupied by a lot of things. She had no idea that she attracted quite a lot of stares from other shoppers when she mumbled, ‘I’m dead, I’m dead’ while pushing the shopping cart. She came to reality when the cashier waved his hand before her face and called out to her.

“Excuse me, miss, are you paying by cash or by card?” The cashier's concerned expression greeted her view.

Jennet broke into a smile, “Ah, I’m sorry. I’m paying by card.” She shoved her card to him while hiding her embarrassment for zoning out for too long.

After paying for the grocery, she hurried to the door. However, she retreated to the cashier again.

“Do you sell pepper sprays?” She asked with hopeful eyes.
