The garden was beautiful and quiet this morning.

Not the eerie kind of quiet . No.. it was a rare kind of quiet.. not just peaceful, but reverent. The sky hung really low with silver and grey clouds, making us aware of the kind of rain that normally promised to fall but never actually followed through.

The kind that watched. Waited. Listened.

I moved slowly among my delicate roses, my gloved hands cradling the stems with practiced care so as not to ruin my little ones. The petals were flushed with deep crimson, some were flushed with snowy white, their velvety folds heavy with dew.

I favored these Bloodwine roses and snowflake roses, as Mira normally called them and I had bred them well to bloom despite the cold.

Just... Like me.

'The sky seems to be whispering words to us. It's unfortunate we just can't understand... Something doesn't feel right' Diane stirred and I giggled.

'Its just the weather Diane'

I hummed softly to myself as I adjusted the vines, the faint scent of soil and

The moonlight filtered in through the windows, making the white cotton sheets, the ornate arm chair I sat in, and most importantly… her, silver in color. She laid on the bed motionless, her dark lashes resting like shadows against her cheeks, her chest rising and falling so delicately it seemed so beautiful and unreal.I’d been sitting here for hours. Maybe longer. Watching her. Her expression was peaceful.. too peaceful for someone who’d just clawed her way back from death.I sat in the chair opposite the bed, elbows on my knees, fingers tangled in my hair. As I continued to study her. The candlelight next to me casted dancing shadows across her face. Shadows that reminded me of blood. Her blood, how it had been spilling from her lips. And death.Every time I shut my eyes, I saw it.. her limp body in Dante’s arms, her face so pale it matched the moonlight. I couldn’t forget it as I also remembered the blood. The screaming. The bond we shared screaming in agony as it snapped and un

“You’re mine… I love you Mine,”The voice was deep. Warm. Possessive. It echoed in the farthest part of my mind like a sacred vow that was being whispered across lifetimes and for some odd reason it didn’t seem to scare me.. well not exactly. But it did something far more dangerous. It called to me.It felt so familiar. It felt like a soft melody in my head that made me feel giddy and safe all at once.Mine. He called meMine.. he called again. And even though I had no face, and no memory to place it, that voice wrapped around my heart like vines of fate. And then all of a sudden… it was gone.I woke up with a sharp inhale, as if I was being pulled out from underwater. Sunlight filtered through an arched window above me, and it casted golden rays across the chamber’s stone walls. The sweet scent of burning herbs and sugar cane syrup lingered fresh in the air.I tried to move a bit but my body ached.Especially my back.. an ugly, stinging pain that felt both old and new.But I was a

The air was thick with the stench of blood and grief when Viktor and William emerged from the shadows of the trees. They stopped dead in their tracks the moment they saw the scene in the clearing.. three bodies lying motionless as they were being moved away by the guards.Kira.Mira.And Asher. The storm above the forest ground genuinely mirrored the storm that had been brewing in my soul. Thunder cracked across the sky as Viktor moved forward with slow, haunted steps.“Goddess,” he breathed, his voice cracked with confusion and pain . “What… what happened to Kira? Where’s Dante?”Williams followed close behind him, his eyes wide with horror. “Is that… what happened to Asher why is he.. is he..”I nodded stiffly, unable to find the words.Viktor turned to me sharply. “Luna Odessa.. what happened here? Where is Dante?”I swallowed the lump that had formed in my throat hard. “Gone.”He blinked in confusion as he tried to hide his panic. “What do you mean by gone?”“I mean…” I said slowl

I had seen wars.I had seen kingdoms burn.I had seen blood, lots of it.I had seen villages being razed to the ground. But nothing.. nothing in this whole lore could had prepared me to the sound of my voice screaming as Kira and Mira drew their final breath.“..no…” My voice cracked as I stumbled forward, hands shaking, heart pounding in my ears. But the moment hung frozen in time.Dante was kneeling beside Kira, blood soaking into his clothes, his arms wrapped around her lifeless body as if he could will her heart to beat again. And Asher? he fell to his knees like the world had been ripped from beneath him, one hand clutching his chest while the other reached helplessly toward the ground.“No… KIRA!” he screamed, the sound so raw it tore into the very marrow of my bones.Diane, howled in my head.. her cries piercing, unrelenting. “Odessa!! She’s gone! They’re gone.. WE LOST OUR GIRLS!”“Odessa our girls.. NO!”I collapsed beside a tree, gripping the bark to keep from falling to th

“No, no, no… Kira! Kira! Please.. Stay with me!”“Ahhhhh…” I was practically screaming. And I didn’t even realize it at first. I was on my knees, cradling her limp, bleeding body against my chest as the warmth drained from her skin. Blood soaked through my shirt, staining my hands, her back.. everywhere.“KAI!” I roared, while he was howling inside me, thrashing, ripping at the walls of my mind.Do something!Heal her!Save her!Save her!SAVE HER!“I’m trying!” He screamed back at me.I choked, my hands pressing desperately against the wound, trying to keep her here, trying to stop the bleeding, but it was.. gods… it was too much. I was losing her.Her body convulsed, gasping violently, like she was drowning in her own blood. Her mouth opened, taking shallow, wheezing breaths. Her eyes fluttered.. still not fully green, still not fully her. And yet, the moment she looked up at me…Time shattered. No my heart shattered into a million pieces and I felt broken at all edges Cause why?H

“I don’t just smell him, I smell his blood and fear as well,” Zaram snarled “He failed!”The forest was bleeding secrets, and I was following one of them.Heralds scent clung to the air surrounding my nose like rotten fish. sharp, iron-like, laced with fear and failure. It wasn’t difficult to trail. His blood had marked the earth. And each droplet dragged me closer to where he was, he laid there sprawled among the twisted roots of an old tree, his limbs trembling, his skin pale as the dullest shade of silver dress I had in my closet.I stopped a few paces from him and tilted my head, unimpressed as well as annoyed. “Herald.”His eyes fluttered open, and blood stained his teeth. “You…”“Yes, me.” I crouched beside him, and slowly brushed his sweat matted hair back with a sickly sweet smile. “What happened, my little puppy? Couldn’t finish the game?”He coughed violently, and a trail of blood escaped the corner of his lips. “You… You tricked me,” he croaked. “You knew… she wasn’t you
