Misunderstanding

Hannah 's POV.

I sensitively caught the key message among Bernie's words.

He said, one month - I was going to be locked up in this damn place for a month and had my blood drawn every day, an entire month from now on!

GODDAMN IT! DAMN IT!

ONE MONTH! I couldn't even imagine!

I stared at him and spoke in a series of words with a rapid speed.

"I don't understand! Why did you have to draw my blood? Bernie, I need an explanation."

My tone was half forceful and half pleading at the same time.

Bernie's face was taut and defensive, it looked like he was definitely unable to tell me the truth about everything.

"Please..."

I tried to press my irritation and anxiety as much as I could, and my tears couldn't help welling up from my eyes again.

We were silent and stared at each other.

The struggle in his dark blue eyes gradually grew more and more violent. Finally, he hung his head.

I won!

He sighed, "Alpha Abraham had his first mate, which was Sonja."

"I know." It had been said by Abraham just now.

"Sonja was attacked about half a month ago. She was seriously injured and dying. What made matters worse was that the injuries were so severe that Alpha Abraham seemly also lost contact with his mate ."

Bernie looked at me again with sadness in his eyes, "The witch doctor told Alpha Abraham that only the blood of his second mate could save Sonja."

That's the truth!

That's why Abraham was so eager to marry me from the Red Pack, even forced other Packs to put pressure on my brother. The reason for all of these was only to use my blood to save his first mate!

RIDICULOUS!

I couldn't believe what I was hearing just now.

"This is brutal!" I shook my head with disbelief at all of these, " Hurting me so much is only for saving his former mate. This is so unfair to me!

Bernie looked at me and said gently, "It's not unfair."

"What did you say?"

"I said, there is no unfairness." He repeated and looked at me with a gradually gloomy expression, "Because you are the princess of the Red Pack, the sister of Alpha Aidan of the Red Pack." However, I didn't understand what he said at all.

What did you mean these were all because I was Aidan's sister?

"I am Aidan's sister, I am the princess of the Red Pack, so what? We the Red Pack don't have any conflict with the Black Pack, right?"

Although all seven orthodox werewolf packs, including my brother, all scared the Black Pack, so far, we still required to join forces to fight against the vampires. I knew that I had no choice now.

I didn't understand where the animosity of the Black Pack towards us, the Red Pack, came from.

"I'm surprised that you don't know?"

Bernie looked at me suspiciously, as if trying to find the pretense on my face, even just a little.

But, he saw nothing.

That was certainly true! Because I really didn't know anything.

"Tell me, what should I know?" I raged, had not a bit interested in one more nonsense word.

Bernie's expression gradually changed from somber to regretful.

"And yes, you certainly don't know. If you did, you wouldn't have fallen into this trap so easily." He sighed deeply and looked at me again with a much gentler tone, "The attack happened half a month ago was an assassination attempt sent exactly by your brother, Alpha Aidan."

"Assassination to Sonja?"

I confirmed the key information with him, but I did feel that it was nonsense in my heart.

I could be sure that my brother didn't even know such a woman named Sonja. Why would he assassinate her for no reason at all?

It didn't make sense!

"No."

Bernie shook his head and tensed his face, his expression turned back to somber again.

"He aimed to assassinate Abraham, our Pack-honored Alpha."

His words echoed in the huge silver jail.

But the words reached my ears seemed extraordinarily unreal

Bernie stood in front of me and continued to say: "Sonja was wounded to save Alpha Abraham."

"So, you can now understand why Alpha Abraham used your blood to save her life."

"It was all caused by yourself, the Red Pack."

I dropped to the ground, the silver chains made a piercing sound and the burning sensation became more and more intense.

But my body was getting colder and I couldn't feel any pain as if I had lost my soul.

How could this be?

I simply had no way to believe what was said by Bernie just now.

If there was anyone in the world who knew my brother Aidan very well, there was definitely no second person but me.

I knew that my brother was indeed a man with great political ambitions.

Ever since he took over as the Alpha of the Red pack, the whole Pack had grown and prospered under his ruling.

He also once said that he wanted to get rid of the huge threat: the Black Pack.

However, it was not his style to proceed with matters that send someone to assassinate Abraham.

I looked up at Bernie with a firm gaze and said word by word, "Impossible! There must be something wrong!"

"Although marrying far away to your Black pack was not my brother's decision, he did not disagree with it either. If he did send someone to attack your Black pack, there was absolutely no way that he would let me marry here!"

"Think about it, this is the normal logic, isn't it?"

The more I said, the more I believed firmly in my heart that there must be something wrong.

I shouted, "Where's Abraham? I want to explain to him!"
