Narrowing his eyes through the car window, he appreciated the city's night view. But h his mind filled with her face, and her voice seemed to echo in his ears.

"That's enough. I'm fed up with you!"

"Burgess, let me make it clear to you right now, I don't like you, not even a bit. From now on, stop pestering me and looking for me. All of our agreement has been done, nothing left between us!"

"Burgess, you'll regret it!"

“I hate you for the rest of my life!”

A sharp pain suddenly gripped Burgess's throat, and his eyes turned red. Right, he did regret it.

Yet, no matter how much he regretted it, there was no way he could bring Oprah back to life.
