Chapter 233

Author: Edelweiss W.S.
The Four Horsemen of Idiocy and Verbal Diarrhea—Cecil, Charis, Jack, and Sandy—were sprawled on the floor like gum stuck to shoes, trembling pathetically.

The bodyguards pressed on until the McKays fell silent.

Baron even cracked a joke. "Well, it's finally quiet, huh? Perfect. Time to formally introduce you idiots to my mentor.

"This is Sebastian Grimwald. He's my mentor. The only reason I'm here with gifts for Mrs. McKay is that he instructed me to—not because some worthless heir of a pathetic family demanded it."

He smirked, contempt dripping from his expression, as he approached Victor, still crumpled on the floor.

Baron leaned in and patted Victor's cheek with a menacing mockery. "Who the hell do you think you are? You think you even deserve to meet me? What makes you think you're significant enough to be my mentor's enemy? Do you know I could erase you from this world on his command?"

Victor could only whimper, a broken sound like a frightened dog. Words failed him entirely

  • Goodbye, Saintess.   Chapter 450

As I gazed up at the mountain road leading to the temple, a sudden thought struck me."This looks like the same Awakenist temple Hera used to visit all the time." My brow furrowed. "Could she be the one pulling the strings behind Luke?"Knowing that woman's venomous nature, it wouldn't have surprised me if she had sunk that low."But Edge Inc. was already investigated and shut down. All of Hera's assets were supposed to be seized by the court. How could she possibly have the means to come after me again?"I tightened my grip on the steering wheel, my thoughts circling as the car climbed the winding road.Even though I had been working nonstop these past few weeks, I had still found time to quietly dig into the scandal that nearly destroyed Sleeping Giant not long ago."Dan's handler… turned out to be Edmund," I muttered. "But where would he get that kind of power? Still, Edmund should be behind bars. There's no way he could've teamed up with Hera."My eyes narrowed. "Unless the

At the same time, the other core members in the group chat finally relaxed, leaving everything in Dan's hands.[Dan, don't let Mr. Grimwald down this time!][We've got your back. No one's blaming you. We all know who you are.][Go on! If you're helping out at the company, we can finally enjoy our break without worry!]A few moments later, Dan replied in earnest.[Thank you all for your trust. And thank you, Mr. Grimwald!]Relief and gratitude swelled in his chest.…Ignoring the exhaustion from days spent caring for his father and uncle in the hospital, Dan rushed straight to the company and appeared in my office, still dusted from the road."Mr. Grimwald!""Dan." I gestured for him to sit. "Relax. No need to be so tense."Then my tone hardened. "You've seen the message in the group about the flawed formulae. I need you to handle two things."First, I'm not accusing anyone, but we still need a quiet internal check. If you notice anything suspicious, report it to me immediat

In Enbarr, in an old mansion at the city center, a middle-aged man slammed a financial paper onto the table. His face darkened. The headline screamed: [Sleeping Giant Inc., Astergrad's New Rising Power]"Sebastian?" he murmured bitterly. "What are the odds? Another business prodigy, and the same surname, Grimwald."A hard glint flashed in his eyes."Men," he barked. At his command, several men in black uniforms materialized behind him like shadows. They were tall, lean, and exuded a lethal chill."Sir, your orders?" one of them asked."Go to Astergrad. Investigate the CEO of Sleeping Giant, Sebastian Grimwald. Find out whether he is that man's son." His voice dropped to a cold whisper. "If he is not, return and close the case. If he is, make him disappear."Two simple sentences sealed Sebastian's fate."Yes, sir," the black-clad men answered in flat, calm voices, as if human life meant nothing to them. Then their silhouettes dispersed like smoke. The middle-aged man sat alone

Before leaving, Metis turned to me. "Make sure those volunteers who took the trial medicine come to my clinic. I'll detox them myself."And about earlier… Don't overthink it. I was just… too hot, that's all. That's why I did something so impulsive and ridiculous."As for the dividends, keep them. I'm a doctor, not a merchant. I don't do this for money."With that, she left without another glance. From behind, she looked composed, yet her hurried, uneven steps betrayed a trace of panic beneath the surface. After she was gone, Claire shot me a reproachful look. Whatever energy she'd had earlier was gone."Sebastian, Astrid came to interview you. I only came to bring you lunch," she said softly. "Also, my mom and I are going on a trip soon. The house will be empty for a while."I laughed. "You really treat me like a kid, huh? No one's home, and you think I can't manage living alone?""No!"To my surprise, she refused flatly, cheeks puffed as she glared at me."Exactly because you

Even after shedding her heavy clothes, Metis was still overheated. Without a word, she walked to the large window beside my desk, pushed it open, and let the cool breeze wash over her."About half an hour to an hour," I said. "I sent you three formulae. Are all of them problematic?"A faint fragrance drifted in with the wind, catching my attention for a moment."No," she replied, shaking her head. "Two are fine. Only the one meant to nourish the spleen and lungs has an issue. That medicine won't show any problems in the short term. But for the effects to work, it has to be taken continuously for at least a week."Metis exhaled slowly, her tone somber. "Once the toxins build up, they'll cause serious damage."Then her voice softened. "But don't worry. The volunteers only took one dose. They'll be fine. I'll detox them myself."Relief washed over me. I let out a long breath I hadn't realized I was holding."Thank you. You really saved me this time," I said sincerely. "By the way,

"What kind of outfit is that?"Metis still wore her heavy snow-mountain gear, the same thick coat and layers from the icy peak. Here in mild Astergrad, she sweated, her cheeks flushed, and her hair clung to her neck."Don't worry about that," Metis snapped, waving Sebastian off as she steadied her breath. "I saw the formulae you sent. You bought them from someone else, didn't you?"Her voice shook from the exertion.…"Yeah," I said. "I could not reach you and the schedule was tight. The formulae came from a senior doctor. They looked decent, so I went ahead."At once Metis's face lost color. She grabbed my arm, her grip firm and trembling. "What? You already bought them? Have they gone on sale?""Not yet, but they're about to. I just gave the order to launch. They should be online any minute now," I replied, frowning at her panic."Stop it. Stop the launch right now!" she shouted, her whole body shaking. "That formulae the senior doctor gave you are flawed. If they go on sale,
