I parked my car and called out, "Claire? Why are you alone?"

She stared at me, stunned, then studied my car. "Is this… yours?"

I nodded with a smile. "Yeah. I just bought it. It's spacious enough for your grandmother to ride comfortably."

"It's a Range Rover. This isn't cheap!" she exclaimed. "What kind of company did you start, Sebastian? How did you make so much money in such a short time?"

"Hmm, we'll talk about that later. Get in," I said, beckoning. "You haven't told me where your grandmother went."

She slid into the passenger seat with a sigh. "Well… Dad and his mistress came. They heard Grandma survived and recovered, and they seemed thrilled. They're in her room now.

"They're treating me like a princess, honestly. Even that homewrecker is on her best behavior. It made me so uncomfortable that I decided to come see you alone."

I raised an eyebrow. "Isn't this a good thing? Why were you uncomfortable? Were they being passive-aggressive?"
