Stella POV

When I gasped for air, Andrew sighed loudly and glanced over to me.

He thought I was pretending or maybe he thought that I wanted that to take away his attention from Mary.

“Stop acting that way to gain attention, I have told you that if you keep acting this jealousy ,our relationship might have a problem,” he told me.

His voice was cold, filled with impatience instead of concern.

Here I was struggling to breathe and I was feeling my throat closing up and my husband was scolding me about me being selfish.

Unable to talk, I stood up shakily and began making my way toward the room to get my EpiPen. My vision blurred, my chest tightening painfully. As I moved, I accidentally knocked some food off the table and fell onto the floor.

That was when Andrew finally rushed to my side.

He quickly went to get my EpiPen from my room, leaving me gasping helplessly on the floor.

As soon as he was away, Mary walked up to me with a smug look on her face .

She looked down at me with hatred in her eyes, then deliberately stepped on my fingers.

I gasped in pain and my head felt heavy.

“You and that bastard in your womb should just die, so my child can be the heir of this company and this mansion,” she whispered with a smile.

Her face twisted in satisfaction of the pain she was causing me, as she pressed her shoes harder into my finger.

“Ah!” I groaned out weakly.

Suddenly, she noticed Andrew coming back.

She quickly stepped away from me, gasping in fake shock as she backed up.

“Andrew, hurry! She’s in trouble,” she said with false concern, holding her chest dramatically.

Andrew immediately knelt beside me and injected the EpiPen into my thigh. Then he called 911.

As I slowly started feeling a bit better, the ambulance arrived and took me away. Tears rolled silently down my face as I lay there, saying nothing.

At the hospital, the doctors attended to me. After I was stabilized, they invited Andrew into the room.

He came in with Mary beside him.

I wanted to say something about what Mary did earlier , but I know that if I did Andrew would never believe me.

Right now I just want to focus on taking care of myself and my child.

The doctor was standing beside my bedside.

“She ingested peanuts, which she is deadly allergic to. You should be more careful from now on,” the doctor said, reminding Andrew of my peanut allergy.

Andrew looked at me and it dawned on him that I wasn't faking it.

“I’m sorry. I forgot about your peanut allergy. Mary likes peanuts, and she wanted it in the food,” Andrew said.

His words felt like knives stabbing my heart, and I couldn’t even bring myself to look at him.

My own husband who knew that I have a severe allergic reaction to peanuts which could even kill me ,decided to put peanuts in the food that I was eating, just because his first love Mary, who is not his wife like peanut ,and he put the life of his unborn child and also my life in danger.

Mary gasped in shock covering her mouth with her hands, her eyes filling with fake tears.

“I am so sorry, Stella. I didn’t know you were allergic to peanuts. If you want me to leave, I would,” Mary said softly, as she turned ready to leave.

I wanted her to leave, but before I could say anything, Andrew grabbed her hand to stop her.

“Stella, just forgive her. She has apologized to you,” Andrew told me firmly.

I clenched my fists.

“I know very well that in the kitchen, it is boldly written on the fridge that peanuts are not allowed in this house because I’m allergic. So how could you say you didn’t see it?” I asked Mary.

My voice was shaky, but I forced myself to continue.

Mary opened her mouth.

“I—”

“Stella, even if she saw it, pregnancy brain must have made her forgetful. You should just let this matter go,” Andrew interrupted, cutting off my words stepping in to defend Mary.

He didn’t even let me finish before taking her side.

I shook my head slowly.

I was the one carrying his child, not Mary.

I was the one lying in the hospital bed, not Mary.

Yet somehow, I was the one he was annoyed with.

“You can leave my room. We are not in a telenovela. I want to rest, since my husband will not believe my words and will not let Mary go. There's nothing else I can say to you,” I said quietly.

I turned my back to them and pulled the blanket over myself.

They left after two minutes.

And I cried.

Later that night, Mary sneaked into my hospital room carrying a food flask.

She dropped it on the table beside me.

“You should eat. I don’t think anyone else will come to bring food to you,” she said.

Her lips formed a smirk, as she opened the flask.

The smell hit me immediately.

The food smelled strange ,watery and spoiled. When she placed it in front of me, I was sure it had gone bad.

“Mary, I know very well that I did nothing to you, so why are you doing all this to me?” I asked her.

My voice was tired. I was exhausted from everything.

She leaned closer.

“Because you took away my husband and my position. I should be the one enjoying everything you are enjoying right now, not you,” she said coldly.

Her eyes darkened with hate.

“So I need you to leave. I will make your life miserable here,” Mary informed me.

Footsteps sounded outside the door.

She suddenly slapped the flask away, and it fell to the floor, spilling everywhere.

The door burst open.

Andrew rushed in.

Mary immediately looked wronged, as if I just slapped her face.

“Please, just eat your food and don’t be angry. I know I made a mistake, but you shouldn’t take it out on yourself. Remember, you’re pregnant, think of your child,” Mary said, acting pitiful.

Andrew first rushed to her side and held her in his arms when he was sure she was unharmed, he turned to me angrily.

“Stella, why are you wasting food? I was the one who told Mary to get something for you to eat ,so you wouldn’t be angry at her anymore. So why are you acting like she put poison in your food?” he asked me angrily, while he was still holding Mary who had fake tears running down her face.

I said nothing.

I knew that even if I explained, he would not believe me.

“I would rather eat food from the hospital cafeteria than eat what Mary got for me,” I said quietly.

Mary covered her mouth.

“I am so sorry, Andrew. I don’t know why Stella is acting this way. Maybe she wants me gone. I should excuse both of you to talk,” Mary said before running out of the room crying.

Andrew glared at me.

“Why can’t you just move on from the past? Nothing happened to our child,”Andrew said before chasing after her.

He left me alone in the hospital room.

I didn’t see him again.

Not even after two days staying in the hospital.

Stella POVI invited George out for lunch to give him back the job. I wanted him to understand that I was in full support of him trying to get divorced from Mary. That was the best thing he could ever do for himself. That woman is a witch.George came to my office to see me, and he was quite surprised that I had actually called him to come and see me. When he got into the office, I motioned for him to sit down on the couch, pointing my hand toward it calmly as I leaned back in my chair.“I was told you are going to get divorced from Mary, so I decided that it was the best time to talk to you. I want to hire you into my company,” I said, folding my hands on the table and watching his reaction carefully.“Thank you very much for giving me the opportunity." He began. "Yes, I have already filed for divorce, and Mary and I will be divorced very soon. It's just only a matter of time," George said, nodding slowly as he sat up straight. “I was told you understand that I was a good employee,

Andrew povI know that I should not have made June 9th angry, because now he was attacking my company and was making sure that nothing would be left of it. He bought the shares of my major shareholder, and now some of my employees are leaving because they were having rumours that the company was going to go bankrupt soon."Sir, don't you think this is the right time to apologise to Mr Jonathan? I know you must have offended him, but I don't think his dad has the right to make many people jobless just because of a small offence you committed," my assistant CEO advised me, leaning forward on the desk as he spoke. The truth is that I have called him to apologise, but he laughed at me.
