Chapter 12 Mysterious Black Card

Author: Five Generals
Sammy reluctantly accepted the black card. “Mr. Lee, is this our bank’s card? I have never seen it in black.”

Deborah and Vincent were done with their business. They overheard Sammy and came back to have a glance at the black card.

“Hahaha! Kaze, you useless trash! You are using a fake card?! What a joke!”

Deborah laughed out loud. Vincent scoffed and said to Kate, “I can’t look at them anymore. Please throw them out.”

“Ah, yes. I’ll…”

Kate nodded repeatedly before she glanced at the black card. It stopped her from finishing her sentence and a strange look appeared on her face.

She went up and snatched the black card from Kaze’s hand.

“Sammy, stay here. I’ll go inform the president.”

Kate checked the black card repeatedly before she ran upstairs to the manager's office.

Deborah came over and said, “Darcy, do you know using a fake card at a bank is illegal? You two are really trying to get yourself caught.”

Darcy was frightened; even her hands and feet turned cold.

Agnes glared at Kaze as she breathed heavily. She ran into the kitchen and came back out with a knife. “Keep talking nonsense! If not for you, we wouldn’t be expelled! I will kill you!” As soon as her words subsided, Agnes swung the knife at Kaze. “Mom, what are you doing!?” Darcy cried in shock, her face turned pale. Hector was frightened as well. He did not expect his wife to do something so dangerous. The knife was swung at him, but Kaze was not afraid at all. With a swift move of his body to the side, the knife missed him and hit the floor at the door. “What the hell?!” A frightened cry came from outside the door. Everyone turned to the entrance and saw Henry, frightened. “Henry? What are you doing here?” Agnes recollected her composure and went up to the man. Henry slowly recovered from his fright. He forced a smile on his face and said, “Agnes, I heard you guys were expelled from the family, so I thought I’d visit with some gifts.” The mood turned serious

Even though Kaze was not able to give her a grand birthday party, she was happy as long as they were together.Kaze nodded with a smile. He tried to hold Darcy’s hand but Agnes appeared and slapped his hand away.Displeased, Agnes said, “Are you really going to dinner with this retard? Henry is hosting a party at a five-star hotel for you. Each table costs one hundred thousand dollars.” As soon as her words subsided, car honks came from outside the house. Agnes relaxed her brows and said, “It must be Henry. Darcy, come on!” When they came down, they saw Henry in a handsome white suit and a large bouquet of roses, leaning against his Maserati. He strode over when he saw Darcy descending. “Darcy, happy birthday. Here’s your present.” Then, he opened a jewelry box to reveal a diamond ring. “Henry, this…” Darcy frowned, se

Everything went silent at the gate. Everyone was looking at Kaze and Darcy. It was Darcy’s birthday party after all? Did it mean that the Chairman of Sky High Investment Group was Kaze?! The Quints were frightened as if they had seen a ghost. Deborah felt like her world was collapsing. “Impossible!” “Mr. Forrester, are you mistaken?” Deborah almost fell on her knees. How could Kaze be the Chairman of Sky High Investment Group? “Shut up!” Ray slapped Deborah, displaying his long-standing dominance. Deborah was instantly frightened, her face turning deathly pale as she fell to the ground. Ray then looked at Darcy and said respectfully, “Ms. Quint, this way, please.” “I…” Darcy was nervous and confused. She stood there, feeling surreal and unbelievable. Then, a Rolls-Royce Phantom Extended drove out from the estate and stopped in front of Ray’s golden Rolls-Royce. The man then opened the door for Darcy and Kaze himself. Before Kaze even replied Darct, the list of birthday gifts was presented. “The Chief of Lilyrose City Council, Johnson Brooks, presents a Van Gogh painting.” “The Jetstar family, the Junon family, the Joestar family, each presents five million dollars.” “Mr. John Walker, Mr. Genji Lord, Ms. Jasmine Sundar…” When the guests arrived in the banquet hall, they were once again shocked by the VIPs invited. From politicians to well-known businessmen, those affiliated with both the underworld and the government were present. The powerful figures of the business world all came with expensive presents. Pietro, who was in charge of announcing the guests’ names and their gifts, was in awe. Even with his experience, he was amazed by the presents received and their value. Master Quint and his family were jealous when they heard the presents being announced, especially Deborah. It would be great if they were the ones who received the presents and not just Darcy. “On behalf of the

Kaze smiled. “Yes, I am the Chairman of Sky High Investment Group, in the flesh.” Agnes flushed. She curled her hands around Kaze’s arm tightly. Having the Chairman of Sky High Investment Group as her son-in-law would make her the most famous lady in all of Lilyrose City. The next time she met up with her friends, they would be envious of her. Her friends who used to look down on her would probably flatter her or kneel before her for forgiveness. Master Quint could not contain the jealousy in his heart as he stared at the pile of expensive gifts. He went up with his glass of wine and said, “Darcy, the Quintessential Group is facing some funding issues at the moment. Can you spare some of your presents to help us overcome this problem? Consider it as a contribution to the family…” Agnes was displeased when she heard Master Quint. “Father, I clearly remembered that we were excommunicated. Why must we contribute to your family?” Master Quint chuckled awkwardly. “That was jus

“My marketing director said he doesn’t know you at all.” Could it be that Kaze was impersonating the Chairman of Sky High Investment Group? Agnes’ heart sank deep into the abyss. Darcy looked at Kaze, not knowing why he would impersonate the chairman. “But the presents are indeed for Darcy.” Kelly reluctantly explained, “I don’t know why but the presents are from the chairman. He wishes you a happy birthday.” She clenched her fists tightly when she explained and it fueled her jealousy. She thought she could finally shame Darcy in public but the chairman took a liking in her. However, if it was true, then Kaze might lose his wife soon. Kelly sized up Kaze contemptuously. Kaze was speechless. He left his men in charge of the company for years, so it was normal for the common employees to not know of his existence. Baffled, Darcy asked, “Kaze, what is going on?” Kaze explained, “Darcy, believe me. I am really the chairman.” “Enough!” Darcy glared at him. “Kaze, c

After the phone call, Kelly bolted and left the presents behind. Everyone found it strange but the celebratory mood of the party was not affected. Even though Kaze was not the chairman, he knew the chairman, so it was possible to reach the chairman through him. Darcy and her family were heavily surrounded by guests who were trying to win over them. Agnes and Hector were flustered. They had been waiting for this moment for years and with it, they could finally lift their heads up as proud human beings, especially before their extended family. Master Quint said shyly, “Darcy, since the chairman is indebted to Kaze, why don’t you tell him to ask for an investment from the chairman? I’m not asking for much, one or two hundred million is definitely more than enough.” “Grandfather, I…” Darcy looked troubled. “What’s wrong? You can’t do it? You are a Quint and you can’t even do your family a favor?” Master Quint was displeased with her answer. Kaze knew the old man was trying

Since the Construction and Material Society has just been dissolved, we can form a new company for the former board members and you can be the new chairman. Even though it’s not a fitting title for your status, at least you can have an official position and it will be much more convenient…” Kaze thought and nodded. "Sounds good. Sky High will provide the funds and the former board members can bring their resources to this new company. Sky High will be in control with a majority stake. Let's call it the Perfect World Group." Ray was thrilled to learn the new name of the company. With that, the former board members of the Construction and Material Society would form a working relationship with Sky High Investment Group. Kaze glanced at Ray and said, “Ray, why don’t you be the new company’s manager? I’ll just be a nominal chairman.” “My pleasure!” Ray nodde

“Kaze can pull the punches for sure. I mean, he has the Butterworth branch chief’s trust for a reason. “There has to be something for him to win the branch chief’s approval.” Edmund doubted there was depth to Kaze. After all, Edmund decided whether to take on a person based on their abilities. It made no sense to pay attention to losers, as he would hold them in contempt. Edmund had been impressed with Herman, who excelled in strategies and management. That was why Edmund bumped Herman up and made sure he stayed on top. “Got it.” Herman nodded and had one foot out the door. “Don’t be in a hurry to leave. There’s one more thing.” Edmund pointed at the table. Herman approached and stood on bent knees. Pleased with Herman’s submission, Edmund passed him a wine glass. Herman took the drink humbly before looking carefully at Edmund, awaiting his orders. “The wine was just airlifted from abroad. I can vouch for the taste. If you’re looking to sip on the finest, yo

Time went by, and a towering man in a suit showed up outside the door. Picking up on the noise inside the room, he knocked on the door. It was hard to tell whether the person inside could hear the knocking, so the man waited outside. The door was opened, and a woman, her face flawless with makeup, popped her head out and saw him. She cocked her head back at Edmund. “You have a guest, Mr. Witterson.” “Let him in,” Edmund instructed. He then leaned in to take the drink from the girl next to him with his mouth. The other girls cheered him on. The group was lost in their fun. The man, who entered the room, stood by the sofa respectfully. He kept his head down, his gaze staying low at the bottles of alcohol spread across the table. It was a bit of a wait before the man approached at Edmund’s order. “Tell me about Dwight.”While listening to the girls’ singing, Edmund turned to Herman. Herman rushed over as soon as Edmund called. In this particular circumstance, Morris had to play it safe so that things would not get out of hand. The last thing he wanted was to be dragged into the mess. At least, he finally saw the Wittersons’ true colors. Morris’ friendly advice was met with disrespect and insult. However, the Wittersons were a force of nature, and Morris was not about to take them head-on. Despite his frustration, Morris had to walk away. Well, Edmund would soon face his downfall at the height of his power, and Morris would be there to enjoy the ride. Still, it did not sit well with Morris to have a young fella walk all over him. It had crossed his mind to keep the Wittersons in check, but there was only so much he could do. Morris had to be the one to back away as the Wittersons grew haughty. Morris believed there was more to Kaze’s visit to Westeros. Nothing major happened in Westeros recently. At least, there was nothing worth the other branch’s attention. However, a representative of the

Morris suggested entertaining Kaze well. Things would not be good for the branch if Kaze got dirt on them. That was where Edmund disagreed with Morris. His idea was to send someone to sound Kaze out. Edmund was smug because Morris’ decision was wrong. “You shouldn’t do that. Kaze is here on behalf of the Butterworth branch. You don’t want tension between both branches.” Morris looked at things from a wider perspective. Edmund believed Kaze was just a doormat of little importance. “You just overthink things, and it’s not good for your age. You’re getting senile.” Edmund did not take Morris’ advice seriously. He believed he was right. “You’re not getting it. Kaze is from Butterworth. Even if he doesn’t hold a high position there, we were in the wrong. We did not keep our tracks clean either. “Now that he’s back, I’m worried that he’ll cause us harm.” Morris was only giving a heads-up because the whole branch was at stake. Edmund was young. Hire cleaners to tidy up the place. “You can report back to me if you need more money, but it’s not a reason for you to misuse the funds.” Herman wanted to hang up. The money was now in Dwight’s bank account, so he was washing his hands off the matter. The plan was to keep Kaze happy. He was just an insignificant member of the Butterworth branch anyway. The whole thing would blow over soon enough, so long as Kaze kept to himself without taking things too far. Herman would figure out a way to get him out quickly anyway. Maybe Herman and his friends did not have to do anything to get rid of Kaze. “Got it. I’ll be a good host, Herman. I won’t let you down. I’ll keep you in the loop.” Dwight was over the moon to get the notification about the money transfer. “Just play by ear and arrange what you see best.” Herman hung up and continued playing pok

“It’s becoming a hassle now. Are you going to inform the Viper’s Den about the change of accommodation?” After much hesitation, Kaze nodded to take up the offer. Dwight was thrilled. It only hit Dwight that he had to communicate with the Viper’s Den. Kaze was booked for a hotel stay, and Dwight’s job was to take him to the destination. Yet now, Dwight took him to his home. “I’ll tell my superior and see what he has to say.” Dwight was not sure whether the change was appropriate. Nevertheless, he did not want to pass up on a great opportunity. He simply grabbed the bull by the horn. If Kaze stayed at his place, the Viper’s Den members had to respect Kaze’s request even if they had a problem with it. “But when they ask, you can say that you’re getting along well with me. Living together just makes work more convenient.” Feeling unsettled, Dwight tried to get their stories straight with Kaze. Hopefully, the Viper’s Den would not come after them. “Aren’t we friends? Dwight gave some suggestions. “But I’m worried about being a nuisance to your family.” Kaze remained hesitant, torn between decisions. “No, you won’t. I usually live alone. They stay somewhere else. They barely visit. I’ll just let them know not to visit for now,” Dwight replied. Dwight figured out what was in it for him. He could not let Kaze leave. “I don’t want to put your family in an awkward position.”Kaze was still considering the matter. “Relax. They don’t live with me anyway. The room I have for you is tidy. No one has stayed there before.“I’ll hire some help to freshen up the place. I can guarantee you an experience no less than at the hotel.” Dwight spoke with great confidence. “We should finish our food and doggie-bag the rest. I’ll take you to my place.” Dwight was ready to get things going. Kaze took the offer and nodded. “I’ll be in your care then.” Kaze was glad that his plan went through. “I’m new to the place, so I don’t know much. Can you show me around when you’re available?” “No problem, but I usually have some stuff to take care of. I can’t be there 24/7. “Why don’t you propose to the branch that you want me to be your guide and attendant?” Dwight suggested. There was no telling whether Kaze would accept his proposal, but it was an opportunity to prove himself. He was never involved in the core operation. Often enough, he was the branch members’ punching bag. Though Dwight was aware that he was not good enough for the big stuff, he still wanted to succeed. Kaze was the trusted aide of the Butterworth Branch chief. He was in Westeros for a reason. By joining Kaze, Dwight would come across the major players. Kaze saw through Dwight’s plans. “Sure. Dwight’s angry screams came from outside. “What the hell is this? I only ordered a bunch of stuff. Why am I being charged an exorbitant amount?“What do you mean my friend is paying for everybody? That’s throwing money away,” Dwight said while storming his way over. “I know you have money, but you shouldn’t do this, Mr. Lee.” Dwight did not approve of this type of generosity. “You rubbed them the wrong way. It was only right to apologize. Besides, it’s not a lot of money.” Kaze looked at the bill and handed a bank card to Dwight. “It’s my treat.” The consumption was barely a dent in Kaze’s savings. The meal did not cost more than his us
