Chapter 1586 A Dying Man

Author: Five Generals
“President Quint?!”

Astral was shocked when he saw Darcy.

His eyes widened oddly as he stared at Pete.

“Pete, don’t tell me the nice thing you were referring to is President Quint…”

Just when Darcy was wondering why Pete would bring her to Landor Residence, she spotted Astral.

She stared at Pete coldly and asked, “What is the meaning of this?”’

“You don’t know? You are the main dish tonight!”

Pete grinned as he scrutinized Darcy from top to bottom.

He then turned to Astral and scoffed, “Astral, I heard you got beef with Kaze Lee. I got his wife here and I’m sharing her with you. What do you say?”

Darcy was infuriated by Pete’s diminishing words but her angry look aroused him even more.

Astral glanced at Darcy’s stunning looks and voluptuous body.

His heart raced for a moment before it skipped a beat when he thought of Darcy’s husband.

“Pete, I have to give it to you. You really know how to court death.”

Astral looked at Pete as if he was a corpse.

“Hehe. President Quint, you better worry about yourself first,” Pete scoffed. He then looked at Astral and gestured an invite. “Astral, come on. I can let you go first. This is what friends are for. I’ll tell the Viper’s Den agents to leave.” He then took a camera and a tripod out and began setting it up in front of Darcy, seemingly trying to record the horrible act. Astral glanced at him and said, “Pete, I wouldn’t do that if I were you. Mr. Lee is still alive, and if he gets out of this alive, aren’t you afraid he will come after you?” Even though Pete confidently called Kaze a dead man, Astral’s head remained clear and sane. He did not fall into the trap. Ever since Kaze strapped him to the helicopter and flew around the city naked, the man became his biggest fear. Before seeing Kaze’s body with his own eyes, he dared not act recklessly. “Make it out alive? Are you kidding me?” Pete rolled his eyes and scoffed, “The branch leader, Magnus Fuller, wants Kaze Lee dead

“You fuck, you hit me?!” Astral covered his face, shouting at Pete. He did not expect someone who had been trying to impress and flatter him would slap him in the face. What gave him the nerve? Thump! Pete stomped on Astral’s face. “So what? Who do you think you are? The eldest son of the Glitter family? I’m scared. Hahaha! My family is a distant relative of Magnus Fuller. With him on our side, why the fuck should I care about you anymore? “I slapped you in the face because you deserved it! You stupid ass! Look at yourself in the mirror, you moron!” Pete continued stomping as he scolded Astral. The more submissive he had been in front of Astral, the more arrogant he was now. The moment he seized power, his arrogance skyrocketed. It reflected his character a lot. Throughout the entire process, the Viper’s Den agents watched with a grin on their faces. They looked down on Pete and the likes of him, but they did not want to intervene. Quite the opposite, they fel

Pete grinned. “Enjoy? Fine.” Darcy subtly took a step back and turned her face away. Pete was delighted. He thought Darcy had thought it through and given up. He started to undress himself. Suddenly, Darcy curled her lips and scoffed, “Pete Fuller, are you sure you still can get it up? Look at you. You’re weak, you’re exhausted after a few kicks, are you sure you want to do this?” “What are you talking about?” Pete’s hands froze while unbuttoning his shirt. His brows furrowed and his expression was one of dismay. As a matter of fact, he was suffering from erectile dysfunction due to his addiction to alcohol and drugs, and he had to rely on more drugs to get aroused. Darcy stabbed him in the weak spot with her words. She looked at him in contempt and said, “You know exactly what I am talking about.” Slap! Pete slapped Darcy to the floor. His expression turned ferocious as he shouted, “You bitch! No one has ever talked to me like that!” Darcy covered her face. H

“Stop it right there!” The Viper’s Den agents were alarmed and quickly stepped in to prevent Kaze and Darcy from leaving. Kaze frowned. Leaving immediately was no longer an option, so he tapped Darcy’s shoulder and said, “Conan is outside waiting for me, go.” “Be careful, Kaze… Ugh!” Darcy covered her mouth as her face turned pale. She nodded reluctantly and ran outside the building. Back at the abandoned factory in the suburbs, she saw many dead Zion mercenaries but she did not react this strongly because she did not see the wounds or cuts on the bodies. Pete’s case was different because the entire scene happened right before her eyes with the bloody arm falling off. After Darcy left the building, Kaze turned around to the agents and looked at them calmly. “You guys trying to make me stay?” “You cut someone’s arm off in front of us and you’re trying to walk away like nothing happened? What’s on your mind?” the leader of the group questioned Kaze. When he saw the Neth

The leader curled his lips and said, “No matter what you say, the branch leader has spoken and you will kill yourself. As long as you are in Arcadia, there’s no place you can run to.” His confidence came from the influence of the Viper’s Den and the reputation that the organization built throughout the years. One word was enough for Kaze to kill himself. They did not need to do it themselves. Kaze shook his head and said, “You guys could have walked away but you just have to challenge me. Fine. You people took my wife and let Pete Fuller hurt her, so you’ll pay for that.” He then stepped forward and approached the leader. “You dare challenge us?” The leader was slightly surprised. He bellowed, “You’re asking for it!” “Get him!” With a raise of his hand, his agents darted forward and jumped at Kaze. Despite their disdain for Kaze, they knew they could not afford to be careless because he had indeed defeated Hannah. Shoosh! With the Viper's Den agents lunging at him

“If he isn’t leaving, just call Don and throw him out,” Kaze said with furrowed brows. He was annoyed that Caleb had called him for such a trivial matter. Caleb awkwardly chuckled and said, “He’s with the Viper’s Den, we…” “Fine. I’ll be there in a minute.” Kaze hung up the phone and made his way to the city council. “Is the young mayor afraid of me? Is he avoiding me? Did you call him and tell him I am waiting for him?” Trent continued to cause a scene at the city council, acting like he owned the place. Had Caleb and the others not stopped Trent from going inside, he would have stormed into the mayor’s office to look for the new mayor. When Kaze arrived, he saw the man throwing a tantrum like a baby. “What is this about? Why do you want to see me?” He went over to Trent with an annoyed look. “Kaze Lee?” Trent was surprised to see him as well. The Viper’s Den agents who came with Trent locked their eyes on Kaze the moment he appeared. They were alarmed by his

“Go! Let’s go!” Trent was too embarrassed to stay. He covered his face and dashed into the car with the two Viper’s Den agents while avoiding the crowd. Right then, he received a call from his secretary, Kan. “Sir, Kaze Lee went to Landor Residence. He cut off the arm of every Viper’s Den agent and Pete…” Trent was instantly on edge when he heard about his grandson. He asked, “What happened to Pete?” “Pete got castrated and by the looks of it, there’s no way he could recover…” Trent could no longer listen to Kan as his mind slowly went blank. His consciousness slowly faded. …At the Viper’s Den West State Branch in Westeros, Magnus was looking at Yves kneeling before him. His face was emotionless. He asked, "So, you saw your colleagues got their arms cut off and you decided to ditch him to come back to me?” Yves was sweating nervously on his knees. He felt an intense pressure on his shoulder. “Branch Leader, I am sorry for my incompetence, but Kaze Lee is ridiculou

“It seems like Viper’s Den has finally learned some manners after I taught two groups of your men a lesson.” Kaze chuckled. He then saw the little wooden box in Yves’ hands and said, “So is this what Magnus Fuller wants you to give me?” Yves turned a deaf ear at the first sentence. Instead, he presented the wooden box and said, “Yes. This is from o-our branch leader.” Kaze smiled as he noticed the nervousness in Yves’ tone. He said, “Bring it over.” Yves passed the wooden box to Caleb. Caleb opened the box and took a scroll out. “Open it,” Kaze said as he gestured. Yves grew nervous as Caleb opened the scroll. He was afraid that Kaze might be angered and hold him accountable. Caleb flattened the scroll on the table. “Come to me on your knees and accept your death!” When the words were finally revealed, Caleb felt so pressured that he felt like swords were hurled at him. His face turned pale and instinctively took two steps back. His forehead was instantly covere

Dwight gave some suggestions. “But I’m worried about being a nuisance to your family.” Kaze remained hesitant, torn between decisions. “No, you won’t. I usually live alone. They stay somewhere else. They barely visit. I’ll just let them know not to visit for now,” Dwight replied. Dwight figured out what was in it for him. He could not let Kaze leave. “I don’t want to put your family in an awkward position.”Kaze was still considering the matter. “Relax. They don’t live with me anyway. The room I have for you is tidy. No one has stayed there before.“I’ll hire some help to freshen up the place. I can guarantee you an experience no less than at the hotel.” Dwight spoke with great confidence. “We should finish our food and doggie-bag the rest. I’ll take you to my place.” Dwight was ready to get things going. Kaze took the offer and nodded. “I’ll be in your care then.” Kaze was glad that his plan went through. Dwight had no idea that he got played. Nevertheless,

“I’m new to the place, so I don’t know much. Can you show me around when you’re available?” “No problem, but I usually have some stuff to take care of. I can’t be there 24/7. “Why don’t you propose to the branch that you want me to be your guide and attendant?” Dwight suggested. There was no telling whether Kaze would accept his proposal, but it was an opportunity to prove himself. He was never involved in the core operation. Often enough, he was the branch members’ punching bag. Though Dwight was aware that he was not good enough for the big stuff, he still wanted to succeed. Kaze was the trusted aide of the Butterworth Branch chief. He was in Westeros for a reason. By joining Kaze, Dwight would come across the major players. Kaze saw through Dwight’s plans. “Sure. I’ll do that.” Kaze did not mind the request. “Great. I’ll let them know on your behalf. I’ll be responsible for your needs while in the city.” Dwight was overjoyed at the opportunity. “So you live

“You must be rich. I often see rich people picking tabs for everybody. Talk about extravagance.” The tension in the air was lifted when Kaze offered to pay for everything. “I’m not. Consider it an apology,” Kaze explained, not wanting to cause unnecessary misunderstandings. He did not see the point of continuing the conversation. Dwight’s angry screams came from outside. “What the hell is this? I only ordered a bunch of stuff. Why am I being charged an exorbitant amount?“What do you mean my friend is paying for everybody? That’s throwing money away,” Dwight said while storming his way over. “I know you have money, but you shouldn’t do this, Mr. Lee.” Dwight did not approve of this type of generosity. “You rubbed them the wrong way. It was only right to apologize. Besides, it’s not a lot of money.” Kaze looked at the bill and handed a bank card to Dwight. “It’s my treat.” The consumption was barely a dent in Kaze’s savings. The meal did not cost more than his us

Kaze observed as the jeep took off further off course, past the towering buildings to a run-down neighborhood. “This is where I usually reside. My home is not too far away, but I think you might have trouble adapting to this place.” Dwight did not forget to book Kaze a hotel. Kaze could not possibly stay with him. The hotel was around the area anyway. “Didn’t you say that you haven’t tried the local cuisine? I’ll take you out for a bite. “The barbecue ribs here are to die for. We’ve got the dry-rubbed and saucy kind.” Dwight parked the car and hopped out right away. Opposite the parking lot was not the cleanest food joint. Looking in from the outside, Kaze realized that the place was packed. Kaze understood that the restaurant must be known for some kind of dish. The customers were from all walks of life, so the food must be great. “There’s not much to see here, but the food is tasty. If you don’t mind, we can order something inside.” Kaze was not particularly con

Dwight was surprised and curious as to who Kaze really was. From what he gathered, Kaze was a confidante of the Butterworth Branch chief. The purpose of Kaze’s visit was to learn and share. Dwight worked on the fringes, so his access to information was limited. Nevertheless, he got the feeling that Kaze was just an ordinary guy just like him. The only difference was that Kaze was lucky to rub shoulders with important people. Dwight did not get chances like that. “Who are the most influential people in the Viper’s Den Westeros Branch?” Kaze asked in the car. Dwight was taken aback by the question. Still, he had an answer to that. “So you don’t know much about the situation?” Dwight suddenly felt important. “Well, I’m new to the city. I will be running into them soon, so I need to make sure I get my facts right,” Kaze said humbly. This was Dwight’s shot, and he needed to present his best. “Relax, Kaze. I’ll tell you everything I know.” Dwight would reveal some info

Kaze glanced at the flowers. There was a card for well-wishes too.Curious, Kaze reached out to read the card. It was written, “To my eternal lover and sweetheart.” Dwight grabbed Kaze’s bag. Since the sign in his hand was getting in the way, Dwight tossed the placard in the trash can. As Dwight turned his head back, he saw Kaze reading the card that came with the flowers. He tried to stop Kaze, but it was too late. Dwight had not attended to a guest of high importance before. The task was assigned to him at the last minute. In the past, Dwight was usually on the sidelines, never getting close to major matters. He would always get the small, insignificant jobs. Dwight often bought drinks for his superiors to build connections. However, he had always been kept out of the loop. Now that an opportunity had fallen onto his lap, Dwight was not about to let it slip. He wanted to show what he could do. When Dwight arrived at the airport for the pick-up, most people car

The incident did not sit well with Kaze, so he left them out to dry. After much searching, Kaze came across a café. Kaze bought a cup of coffee. Cupping the drink between his hands, Kaze sipped slowly. Many passengers swarmed the arrival hall in the airport, dragging along their luggage or pulling out their phones to get a pick-up. They all had a destination, a place they had to be in a rush. Intrigued, Kaze followed the crowd out. Kaze turned on his phone, and a text message from his airport pick-up came in. He glanced at the message, curious about who the person was. Nevertheless, Kaze trusted that the Westeros Branch members would not set him up out in the open. At most, they would pull little stunts to mess with him. Kaze was not the type to sweat the small stuff. However, he would not tolerate any extreme behavior. He had been keeping a low profile back in Butterworth, keeping the limelight off him. The purpose was to handle Jet without unnecessary complicati

“Alright. I will work hard to be the manager of the Northborn Group. You need to show me the ropes and teach me about management.” Leah looked at Katie with a smile. She believed Katie had not lost her mind. Katie simply had her memory mixed up. “You need to keep your people in line and reward those who deserve it. It all boils down to profits. “You need to work toward managing your people and working with rivals. You’ve got to keep the balance, and nobody loses out. “You need to build your own system when it comes to working together. Don’t be led around by the nose.” Hearing that Leah would start work soon, Katie imparted her knowledge. “Don’t worry too much about things. Joey is nice. You can go to her for help,” Katie said earnestly. Katie seemed to be herself at the moment. Leah wondered if Katie faked her insanity to escape the punishment. “What have become of you? Leah kept working on her knowledge until late into the night. Just as she was about to hit the sack, she got a message from Snow. Learning was a hard enough process. The text message came out of the blue. Leah did not expect Snow to contact her at night. The message was strange as well. Leah could not understand why Snow would give her the address of a nursing home. Leah was determined to turn things around. She strived to become stronger instead of being a burden. She was grateful for Kaze’s help. At least, she had a job now. However, her gratitude was not extended to Snow. She believed Snow had gone too far. Snow left her feeling powerless. Leah did not think much about the message. She assumed that the text was not meant for her. Since Leah did not respond to the text, Snow put the matter aside and went to bed. Leah called Snow the next day. “Why did you send me an address?” Leah went straight to the question. She had been equipping herself with knowledge before
