Chapter 2685 Fierce Fight

Author: Five Generals
“Bang! Bang!”

The attackers did not expect Kaze to continue driving after the windshield was shattered. They could not react in time and two of them got run over by the car.

Agonizing screams sounded in the air as the men fell down the slope.

The other two did whatever they could to dodge the car but they were horrified.

They thought after firing a shot at the car, shattering the windshield, the person inside would be terrified and could no longer fight back.

No one expected him to drive the car at them.

“Vroom!”

The men behind Kaze’s car quickly reacted after Kaze ran over the two men in the front.

Two SUVs charged forward at Kaze’s car.

With both SUVs charging from the back and the truck blocking the road in front, Kaze found himself in a pinch.

He did not want to end up squashed, so he kicked the door open and jumped out of the car.

“Kabaam!”

The two SUVs rammed into Kaze’s car, smashing it into a pile of scraps.

One second later and he would end up like a

Kaze could not bring himself to be so cruel. He lowered his gaze and stared at Buffy’s flushed cheeks. She reeked of alcohol, seemingly intoxicated. Alcohol must have fueled her to confess her feelings to him. Kaze was surprised and at a loss for what to do in that situation. He stood frozen, with one hand supporting her back, too afraid to move a muscle. Having been saved from falling, Buffy let out a mysterious smile. She tried to get close to Kaze under the pretense that she was drunk. Regardless of whether Kaze would accept her, she took her chances. “What’s the matter with you? Get up. There are people around.” Anxiety washed over Kaze as he would rather not be seen by his colleagues. He did not want to give them something to talk about. Had he known that he would run into Buffy during his trip to the restroom, he would never have left the room. “I feel nauseated. Can you carry me back?” Buffy knew that Kaze had a soft spot. At the risk of being seen, she wanted to

“That’s in the past now. I’m grateful for your help the other day. Let’s just leave it at that.” Kaze clarified the circumstances, chalking it down as Buffy doing him a favor and nothing else. “What if it’s not in the past? I have real feelings for you. I’ve never pursued my previous crushes so fervently before. I know you might find it hard to accept this, and I’m happy to give you some time. I hope you can accept my feelings and understand where I’m coming from.” Buffy could not pass Kaze by. For all she knew, it would be a long time before she could see him again. Kaze was shrouded in mystery, not one to stick to one place. The next thing she knew, he would disappear again. Dreading the possible scenario, Buffy put on a serious face. She had to let Kaze know how she felt, even if it was not the right place or time to do so. She could no longer hold herself back anymore. “I don’t understand why you’re doing this. We’re just friends, and you know it.” Kaze was lost for w

With Kaze backing away in fear, the light in Buffy’s eyes dimmed. She thought they would be happy to see each other again, so she was surprised to find Kaze turning away, seemingly hell-bent on avoiding her. Somehow, she had become a monster to Kaze. With reality sinking in, Buffy felt disappointed and down. However, she had come too far to give up. She had been through a lot to become the chairwoman of Gwake Corporation. For her to hang in there, it took all her determination and persistence. No matter the obstacle, she would see the whole thing through once she set her mind to it and always find a way to succeed. Hence, even though she was upset, she was not ready to throw in the towel. “What do you mean by that? Aren’t we friends? Am I wrong to come over and say hello?” Buffy said earnestly as she looked at Kaze solemnly. She would not give him a chance to flee. They knew each other. Plus, they were friends. Surely, it was perfectly natural for Buffy to exchange greeting

The moment the gourmet was served, most of the girls reached for their phones to take photos before eating. The male employees could not resist taking videos to show off as well. It was not every day they would get a chance to dine at the upscale restaurant. Now that they were there, they made sure to capture the moment with pictures. Darcy quietly enjoyed her food and nodded. While the service at the restaurant was not great, the food was delicious. It was no wonder the restaurant was able to retain a lot of its customers. “You’ve gone all out today to take so many people to dinner. It must cost you a fortune.” Darcy put out the feelers to see if Kaze had a plan. If Kaze did not have enough, Darcy could cover the expenses for him. “I told Dwight to make a table reservation. I didn’t expect him to make one here. It’s fine, though. What matters is that everybody is having a good time.” Darcy’s remark took Kaze by surprise. Still, he responded to put Darcy at ease. “Oh, he

Kaze took a glance before following the manager into the restaurant. Once inside, the group took in the exquisite table settings and the overall sense of opulence. Those with keen eyes picked up that the restaurant used silverware. “The restaurant is pretty well known. Apparently, the cutlery is all silver.” “Silver isn’t very valuable, but it is surprising that every piece of cutlery is made of silver,” another person commented, awestruck by the different standard the restaurant held itself to. Kaze checked out the layout of the restaurant. The décor was no different from the restaurants he frequented, only with finer touches on the details. Darcy found it strange that the server would stop them from entering. Yet, the manager suddenly welcomed them in. The situation did not appear out of the ordinary, but Darcy could not shake off the feeling that something was off. Nevertheless, everybody was happy to be granted entry. The companions around started to liven up. T

The group did not appear to be the restaurant’s usual clientele. Yet, there they were, outside the door. One of the maîtres d was not too pleased. They earned a percentage of sales, getting a big fat commission off the customer’s consumption. Some generous customers would tip enough to cover a week of their salary. They would stand in the front to welcome customers, hoping to snag some potential high spenders. The white collars were not the ideal customers because they would pick the cheapest items off the menu. These people were a waste of time and space, and the maîtres d would not see any increase in their wages. “Why are the cheapskates showing up all at once? They don’t look like they can afford the place. Why are they in Altitude?” One head waiter in a suit whined. With a grimace, she walked out. She wanted to stop the group from entering Altitude and keep the restaurant to a high standard. God forbid if the group was seen in Altitude, the other customers would
