Chapter 301 From Sunrise

Author: Five Generals
After taking control, Darcy gained more confidence. Her words sounded more dignified than before.

Samus’ heart skipped a beat as he was frightened.

Deborah had her hands curled around Vincent’s arm as she strutted over. “Darcy, you are in big trouble. Do you know what you have done? No one can save you this time.”

“Enlighten me please, what did I do wrong?” Darcy sneered.

She knew Samus and Deborah well enough to know they must possess some evidence to be this arrogant.

“You will find out soon,” Vincent said coldly.

Then, hurried footsteps came from the corridor and a group of uniformed men entered.

The leader was a man in his early thirties. He scanned the room and ultimately locked his gaze on Darcy.

“Darcy Quint? I am Han Feyan of the State Economic Investigation Division and we are currently investigating a case of business fraud. Please cooperate.”

All the executives in the meeting room were shocked.

The State Economic Investigation Division officers caused an

Darcy knew it was not a fair deal, but she desperately needed investors for her project. She had to bite the bullet and accept her loss.“I made a lot of money working with you before. You never let us down with your business ventures. I know I can trust you,” an older gentleman said, giving Darcy a look of confidence.Since they had prior collaborations, the man had a good understanding of Darcy’s character. She would never let him down.“Thank you for your trust, Drew. How much are you thinking of investing? I need a rough figure to plan my next steps,” Darcy said to see how committed he was.“I won’t disappoint you, for sure. I’m in for fifty million.”“Thank you for your support, Drew. I’ll make sure you walk away happy. I will take full responsibility for any loss. Don’t worry about losing money.”Darcy understood that it was an unfair agreement, but she was the one asking for help.“I trust you. You have great judgment,” Drew said and clinked glasses with Darcy.Having se

“What more can you do? We can’t do anything apart from contacting Ms. Quint.”“That’s right. I’m sure Ms. Quint will straighten this once she finds out.”“There’s no telling whether she’d be mad. We should send her a message. Hopefully, Ms. Quint has trust in Kaze.”The group decided to release the news to Darcy. It was a huge deal. The managers would not be able to keep it under wraps even if they tried. Bert sat on the sofa in delight. He was accompanied by the other managers on his side. They all looked cheery.Contracts were laid out right in front of them. These documents were Kaze’s projects. They were about to distribute the workload among themselves.“This might not be a good idea. What if Ms. Quint finds out? She might suspect us of foul play.” A timid manager asked. He was afraid that once the truth came out, his position would be at risk.“We have covered all our bases. What’s there to worry about? Besides, he is in custody now. There’s no way he’s getting out,”

“That’s a shame. He made the money, but he didn’t even get to spend it.”Lyra shook her head in resignation, annoyed by the hassle. She sent Fletcher to trail Kaze upon finding he was suspicious. It turned out to be all for nothing.“In that case, you can stop following him. Don’t waste your time.”Lyra was disappointed. Since Kaze checked out, they had to look for other possible suspects.“Are you calling off the surveillance?”Fletcher was pleased because he was bored out of his mind from the tracking.“Since he’s not who we think he is, it’s pointless to follow him. Our time is better spent elsewhere.”“Alright. I’ll work on other things then.”Fletcher nodded happily.“But still keep an eye on him and see if he’s convicted. Just check what becomes of him.”Lyra had some reservations. Though she dismissed the constant surveillance, Fletcher should still monitor the situation.“Don’t worry. I’ll take care of it. Since he has been arrested, he should be detained for a few

“You can’t judge a book by its cover. How would you know what he does behind the scenes? What if he did betray the company? Why else would the managers take him down?” “Kaze is too cocky. He wouldn’t even be working here if it were not for Ms. Quint. It’s a disgrace that he turned his back on all of us.” “How disappointing. I can’t believe him.” Several people expressed their thoughts in resignation, but their voices exposed their glee. This sort of scandal was unheard of. No one imagined that Kaze was capable of such a thing. It was bad enough that he committed a crime, but he was also caught by the other managers. Kaze put up a struggle, but the security team restrained him and took him away. Bert emerged with a smug look and patiently answered everybody’s questions. “We’ve confirmed everything. Kaze sold the company’s secrets to the competitor. Money was wired to him.” Bert made a public statement to crucify Kaze in disgrace forever. Once word got out, Kaze’s car

Kaze remained silent in the face of accusations. “Since you put it that way, bring on the evidence.” Bert was baffled by Kaze’s composure. Why was he not upset by the finger-pointing? “Haven’t we made ourselves clear? We have given you concrete proof. The competitor named you as the leak,” Bert said without hesitation. He took out some documents, which showed that Kaze contacted the competitor and sold the project. Kaze read the papers carefully, shocked that they would go to lengths to frame him. The document was rather convincing. However, there were many inconsistencies upon closer inspection. It was easy to forge the paper trail. “I don’t buy it. You said that I sold the company out, but I didn’t get any money,” Kaze refuted. It would be even more suspicious if Kaze were to admit to the wrongdoing without putting up a fight. Kaze had to stay calm and rational throughout. Bert let out a smirk, having anticipated Kaze’s response.“Well, you won’t be dumb enough

Bert believed that this was the happiest he had been in days. His career was finally going to take off.Once Kaze was kicked out, he could take over all his projects and demand a promotion from the president.Bert stayed on his feet as everybody took their seats, standing tall and proud before Kaze.He admired Kaze’s defeat, only to realize that the latter had remained indifferent to everything. It was as if nothing could get under his skin, leaving Bert rather disappointed.Bert was persistent in putting Kaze down.“Don’t you have anything to say for yourself, Mr. Lee? Everything is out in the open. Are you going to deny it?”Bert was upset since Kaze should either burst into tears and fess up or blow up and question him.Next to Kaze’s calm demeanor, Bert appeared absurd.“Not really. Say whatever you want, but I won’t admit to something I have not done.”Kaze was callous, as if he were not involved. The managers knew that Kaze was innocent. However, Kaze’s reaction was un
