Chapter 4562 Luca

Author: Five Generals
“Luca, why are you waiting here? Are you expecting some VIP?” an employee, who was sure he was not late, asked.

“Oh, it’s nothing. Don’t let me keep you.”

Luca could not admit that she was waiting there, concerned about Darcy’s well-being. So she simply gave a vague response.

“Alright, Luca.”

The employee turned to his friend and uttered, “What’s going on? Since when has Luca stayed waiting outside the office? I was scared for a moment, thinking I was late.”

“I thought I was late, too. I checked the time, and I was early by ten minutes.”

“But why else would Luca be at the door if not checking on attendance?”

“Who knows? We’ll find out later.”

Despite his curiosity, the employee could not hang around for too long.

Luca was the assistant to the president. They would get in trouble for crossing her.

The chatter among the staff did not bother Luca, as she was only there for Darcy.

As time passed, Luca grew scared, fearing the worst for Darcy.

However, Darcy left work

A good-looking man walked out of the building. He was the type to make a lasting impression. It was a shame that the guy was unlucky to mess with the wrong person. “I saw him on last night’s surveillance footage. He wouldn’t be in this position if he hadn’t gotten in Mr. Hanberg’s way.” “But the woman is a real knockout. Too bad Julian fancies her. How tragic for her.” Some felt sorry for Darcy. Nevertheless, they knew that Julian would always get his woman. Retaliation would only make things worse for Darcy. Darcy would stand to lose everything while still losing her innocence to Julian. She would be ruined beyond survival. By playing along, Darcy would acquire wealth and potentially, marriage, from Julian. Darcy had to cater to Julian’s happiness or lose everything and possibly disappear from the face of the earth. The boxers often did the dirty work for Julian. Knowing Julian’s character, they could predict what would happen to these women. Although they may beli

Darcy expected better from herself. However, some things were beyond her control. As a proud woman, Darcy would do everything to make herself stronger and earn respect. She could adapt to the life of the strong and stand at the top, basking in admiration. No one was allowed to see her vulnerability. That was the real Darcy. She was fragile, yet strong. She would never show her weak side, not even to Kaze, whom she trusted. “Have you thought things through? Your mother isn’t missing out on anything by going home. She could take care of your brother, too. “You can send her away with any excuse. At least you’d know you’ll be safe. You should always watch out for the people around you,” Kaze said earnestly. Kaze sighed helplessly, knowing that Darcy would not take his word for it. Still, he had done his due diligence. Maybe he would not feel so bad about it now. “That’s my business. I’ll handle it. You don’t have to concern yourself with it.” Darcy’s rejection was

Due to yesterday’s failed plan, Julian put all the blame on Kaze. Darcy, on the other hand, put the responsibility on herself for not thinking things through yesterday. Had she been more clear-headed, she would not have had to turn to Kaze for help. She could have just called her staff instead. However, alcohol got the best of her, and the only person she trusted was Kaze. She knew he would not let her down, so she contacted him to get her. Consequently, Darcy got Kaze in trouble. Looking back, Darcy kicked herself for not being rational enough. Still, what was done was done, and it was time to make amends rather than crying over spilled milk. Darcy had always been perceptive, staying grounded to work out any problems. “I’ve been thinking, and I found my behavior inappropriate. I was so drunk that I didn’t know what I was doing. “Somehow, I reached out to you. Now that I think about it, it’s unfair to you.” Darcy looked at Kaze with guilt, realizing that she should

After checking her tasks for the day, Darcy noticed the required engagement with Kaze but decided to put it off for another day. She could avoid certain things. Her anxiety could ease a little since Darcy could just ghost him right now. Besides, no one could enter the president’s office without her permission, and that included Kaze. After getting breakfast, Kaze returned to Dwight’s apartment. He checked the time and noted that it was early. Darcy likely had not gotten out of bed. As Darcy was going to be late for work, Kaze knocked on the door to urge Darcy. He waited outside for ages, but the door went unanswered. Baffled, Kaze opened the door. When he saw the room was empty, Kaze realized that Darcy had gotten up and left in haste. He missed the moment they shared last night. Kaze wondered if Darcy could still remember the events. If she did, was there regret? It was beyond Kaze why he would consider the matter. However, he felt the need to explain himself.

  • Guardian-In-Law   Chapter 4561 Too Painful to Look Back

“What’s up with me? Why do I feel so tired?” Darcy rubbed her aching shoulders and looked around the place. The room seemed unfamiliar to her. Her memory came flooding back to her, and she recalled last night’s incident. Kaze had come in her moment of need. It never occurred to Darcy that her gut feeling was to trust Kaze and turn to him for help during a crisis. Darcy did not think that Kaze was unreliable. However, he could be disappointing at times, and she lost the will to talk to him. She shook her head, attempting to get the embarrassing thoughts out of her mind. Darcy did not feel like herself, and everything felt surreal. It was an absurd feeling. “What’s going on? How did all of this happen?” Darcy awkwardly prodded her head, unable to believe her behavior last night. She acted rather outrageously. Her memories were so vivid, and the weight of her shame was unbearable. “Just how thirsty was I? How could I have thrown myself at him? I can’t believe I d
