Chapter 3024 Preferential Treatment

Author: Five Generals
Cyan frowned. “You’ve not been out for long, Wesley. It’s better not to start anything, especially with Ryokanians.”

Wesley was no longer on par with her anyway, so there was nothing romantic going on between them.

Nevertheless, Cyan would consider being friends with Wesley. Upon learning that she wanted to have a party at Bronze Sparrow, Wesley volunteered to reserve her seats.

“Tsk. Ryokanians don’t mean squat. My cousin, Buffy, is now the chairwoman of Gwake Corporation. She asked for my release, and I was let out with no questions asked. One Ryokanian doesn’t scare me.”

Wesley pouted in disdain.

He saw Kaze behind the crowd and grimaced.

“Get out of the way!”

Wesley yelled at the people in front and made a beeline toward Kaze. He said curly, “Oh, if it isn’t the moocher? I didn’t expect to see you here.

“Tell me. Who did you have to suck up to get in?

“I doubt you can get into this exclusive place on your own.

“I hate to say this, Cyan.

“But why did you bring

  • Guardian-In-Law   Chapter 4352 Motivation

“Come on. We are all set. We don’t have to hang around,” Darcy said to get everybody going. Despite his displeasure, Robbie did not show any emotion on his face. “That’s right. I have a word with your chairwoman. No need to be so tense. It’s not like I’d hurt her,” Robbie said half-jokingly. The employees fell into thought, baffled by what he meant. They were not close to Darcy anyway. “They are not familiar with me since they weren’t my employees before,” Darcy explained, picking up on the tension in the air. “You’re amazing to take over the business and management with ease. I’m impressed.” Though Robbie felt embarrassed, he offered Darcy his praise. “You flatter me, Mr. Carpson. I was sent from the headquarters, so they have to play along. They are getting paid to do a job. They won’t mind who is in charge.” Darcy was pretty blunt. However, the message was clear. Darcy did not think highly of herself. She simply got to where she was because of her family’s con

“Thank you for understanding, Mr. Carpson. Dig in, everybody. Later, we can head back together to establish the proposal and show Mr. Carpson. If everything checks out, we can seal the deal right away,” Darcy said. Everybody nodded and gobbled up their food. Unlike before, there was underlying tension in the air. Everybody’s eyes would shift to Darcy as they awaited her instructions. “We can’t rush the contract. Just take it one step at a time. Don’t stress about it. I’ve got you covered.” Robbie seemed like a reasonable man. However, anyone could read between the lines. “There is no hurry, but I am confident we can meet your needs. Just say the word,” Darcy said in a relaxed demeanor as if everybody was in her control. Nothing Robbie said could get to her. Darcy had her plan and thoughts. Robbie looked at Darcy in shock, finding her rather unusual. Anyone in Darcy’s shoes would grovel at his feet. However, Darcy kept a clear head and her eyes on the prize. Seein

“That’s not what I mean. I think we can have lunch together and then talk about business later. We’ll take things step by step,” Robbie said with a hint of awkwardness. He even averted Darcy’s gaze. He just wanted to dine with Darcy, so he used the excuse to invite her out. “I see. Well, like you said, there’s no rush as well, but since my employees are here, I’ll just let them have company lunch. I hope you don’t mind.” Darcy did not send her employees back, which baffled them. Usually, working in a big company meant that they would have to humble themselves and satisfy the client as much as possible. The chairwoman, however, acted differently as if she were provoking Robbie on purpose. Since Darcy had already made it clear, Robbie dared not change his mind again. Besides, he wanted to please her and sign a deal with her company or make her his lover. Robbie did not give up after failing last night, so he wanted to challenge her again. He was determined to win Darcy over

Now that Robbie had chosen her company, she felt unsettled. Relating this to what Kaze said, Darcy was forced to reconsider the circumstances. She must be careful because her company’s future was at stake. There were many details that she must look through. Kaze never would have thought that his words would finally convince Darcy. However, Darcy refused to give up on such a big opportunity, so she wanted to test her luck before making any further decisions. Luca quickly fixed the location and time with Robbie’s secretary. They would be having lunch at the restaurant next to the office. It would be a lot more convenient for Darcy to make arrangements if things went south. Robbie was happy that the lunch date was successfully arranged. Dinner last night ended badly but he did not give up on Darcy just yet. He wanted to give it another try and maybe it would surprise him with new progress. Regardless, Darcy was a unique woman with special charms. Robbie wanted to take th

The office was just a workplace, not a place to make friends. Kaze did not go to work because he did not want to face Darcy, and also to meet with Edmund. He still believed that Robbie was big trouble, so he wanted everything about the man before he could rest. He did not want anyone else to know about it, so he did not clock in today. More importantly, he did not think his presence at the office was important. Kaze’s team could get the work done easily. Plus the awkwardness lingered from yesterday, so he wanted to escape it for now. He never thought he would give the company trouble by not showing up to work. Luca called Kaze but it could not go through. She frowned. She did not know how to answer her boss. Suddenly, her other phone rang. She quickly answered it, afraid that it was some important call. “Hello, Quint Corporation Westeros Branch.” “Hi, I’m calling from Titan Group Arcadia Regional Office.” The voice from the other side of the phone was a sweet girl

  • Guardian-In-Law   Chapter 4347 Why Skip Work

“So under normal circumstances, he won’t skip work and even if he can’t come, he would call, right?” Darcy, who was always hard working and never late, could not fathom what could possibly hold someone up from arriving at the office. She would only think they were lazy. They should not be late because arriving at work was their responsibility. They were being paid and should put in the appropriate amount of effort. “Maybe he got caught up by something, or maybe he forgot to charge his phone last night and his alarm did not ring. It’s still early and everyone is having a slow start. Why don’t we wait for a little longer?” Luca was concerned about her boss being this nervous. She tried her best to calm Darcy down. “Really?” Darcy remained anxious. Her thoughts were running wild and she could not keep calm. She was afraid and eager for more updates. “Ma’am, there’s no need to be like this. He will call us if there’s anything. Besides, there’s nothing urgent now. If he’s la
