Stella couldn't believe her luck when she received the call offering her the position of secretary at one of the city's most prestigious companies.

A college dropout with dreams of changing her life, she eagerly accepted the job with excitement evident in her face.

It came as a shock to her, with no experience in the job and no certificates at all she hadn't expected to land the job, but here she was, standing at the gate of the Royal Empire company, reassuring herself that all would be well.

Not only was she offered the job, but her brother, Morgan too had received the call just as she had, offering him the job as the personal chauffeur for the boss, and since he was much more excited than Stella was, he had headed to the company as early as seven even when they had been told that they should be there as from eight.

"You are Stella, the new employee?" the receptionist asked immediately after Stella had keyed in her details earning an affirmation nod from her

"Here, follow me," she spoke leading the way to the elevator.

All the while Stella was so silent, she was afraid she might say something she ought not to. All her life she had been secluded because of her skin color, but it only shocked her when the lady didn't do that to her, instead she seemed friendlier than how Stella had thought she would be.

After all who hadn't heard of the mean receptionists in the multimillion-dollar companies and how they were used to insult the new employees?

"My name is Jane and just started working here last month, it's nice to meet you," the receptionist spoke extending her hand to her, Stella could read that just like her she didn't seem like talkative kind of girl, obviously she only spoke to ease the awkwardness in the elevator.

"By the way, it is a surprise that the CEO accepted you as the secretary, I have just heard from the old members of the company that he has never employed a secretary or a driver before, he always does things all by himself, am sure that he must have seen something in you, or you are exceptionally excellent to get the job" the lady complemented with a reassuring smile but when she saw Stella still gazing at her, she gave her a nervous smile.

"Sorry, I must have spoken much!"

"I didn't even apply for the boss's secretary, I just wanted the receptionist's job, and talking of exceptionally, am not, am just a college dropout," Stella thought to herself, only that she couldn't voice it out.

Knock! Knock!

"Come in," a husky deep voice rang from the closed doors. Stella took a deep breath, to reassure herself before walking in, she had done her research, on the company, and even though she didn't know who her boss was, because he had maintained an anonymous identity, still every source screamed about how ruthless he was.

"This is the office, good luck!" Jane spoke as she turned around and left.

Stella nervously entered the office, clutching her handbag, she found it a bother to carry it around, she was not used to such kind of luxury in her life, she only tried to appear composed.

At the table sat a man, his back to her, even though she could not see his face she could tell that he was probably good-looking, with a good figure from the wide shoulders visible in his white shirt.

"Have a seat!" He ordered, not bothering you turn to turn.

"My name is Stella, a third-year student in..." she introduced herself but just then the boss turned around to face her, and seeing the familiar face of the guy she had met three weeks ago, she immediately stuttered in shock.

It was none other than Lucian!

Lucian was known for his brilliance and aloof demeanor. Tall, dark-haired, with piercing eyes and an aura of authority that commanded respect, he was a man of few words but immense influence. His reputation preceded him, both as a shrewd businessman and a somewhat enigmatic figure in social circles, he maintained a low-key profile, but the few people who interacted with him could swear that he was a devil in disguise.

I will go directly to the point, you and your brother are not qualified to work in my company, am only doing this to repay you for your kindness in saving my life the other day, but this doesn't give you any exception as my employee because if by any chance I find you incompetent then I would fire you immediately, he was precise and demanding, expecting nothing short of perfection from his staff.

Stella quickly realized that working for him would be a challenge, but one she was determined to excel at.

Days turned into weeks as Stella adjusted to her new routine. She became adept at anticipating Lucian's needs, whether it was scheduling meetings, preparing presentations, or managing his overflowing inbox, she attended to all of them with the passion to learn more.

Despite his initial aloofness, Lucian began to acknowledge Stella's efficiency and dedication. He even started trusting her judgment on certain matters, a subtle sign of approval that meant more to Stella than any compliment.

Lucian was the visionary, always focused on the big picture and making strategic decisions that shaped the company's future, he worked with ease, no wonder he had built a company for himself at the young age, of just twenty-two, and in five years his company was ranking number one in the whole country.

Stella found herself drawn to Lucian's passion for innovation and his unwavering commitment to excellence. She admired his intellect and drive, traits that had propelled him to the pinnacle of success in his career.

"Stella, I appreciate your dedication and hard work," Lucian said suddenly, breaking the silence that had settled between them.

"Thank you, Mr. Lucian," Stella replied, feeling a rush of gratitude at his acknowledgment.

"I want to have you be my assistant, and with that, you would have to move in with me to ease the convenience of working!" Lucian ordered, it seemed like he had already made up his mind because he didn't even ask for her opinion on the matter.

Stella nodded, a smile tugging at her lips. It was a small gesture, but it spoke volumes about the trust Lucian was beginning to place in her. Even though she was not okay will moving in with him she had no choice, after all, she would earn more than she was getting already.

The fall of Stella, the rise of Lucian, the scream of light smothered beneath the heel of his dominion as darkness dominated the warty. All that remained now was the announcement of the good news, Stella’s defeat, and the total subjugation of earth.A devilish grin crept across Lucifer’s face. "It is done," he whispered to himself. But then, the flames in the portal sputtered. The throne room dimmed. The endless screams of the damned quieted to a whisper. Lucifer narrowed his eyes in confusion, afraid. "What is this?" he growled.Suddenly, a massive quake rocked the chamber as cracks burst through the tiles, glowing with molten red light. Flames flickered wildly. From the shadows, his remaining lieutenants, lesser demons a

Somewhere between the rift of reality and existence, the void stood still, a realm neither light nor dark, untouched by time. It was very well hidden from the eyes of men, the place where memories of Lucian and Stella was imprinted in all the corners of the realm. " You only have one simple task, son. Destroy that girl today," Lucifer’s voice echoed within his consciousness. And yet, his chest ached with a strange heaviness that no darkness could soothe. He had readied himself to go to Earth, to find her among humans and end the will of his mind. But just as he stepped through the gate meant to bridge hell to earth, he was intercepted. A shadow slithered. "Kairo," Lucian growled in confusion. "You were supposed to lead the way!" Kairo subconsciously shivered. He had never seen his master eye to eye, yet today he had the courage. "Change of plans, master. She’s already waiting." Lucian narrowed his eyes. "Waiting where?" Kairo's hand glowed with energy, and with a single thru

In the dungeon, the moment the insect vanished, Elizabeth’s head snapped to the side, her body slumping limp against the cold stone. The remnants of her magic had drained completely from her the moment she had created the messenger. She had known it was risky to do that because of the little energy she had left, but she had to do it. That was the only way she could make things right, and she no longer cared about the consequences. The ancient council, watching through their scrying orbs from their tower chambers, erupted into alarm. "She's fading!" one cried. "Summon the healers! Let's get her to the medics!" another shouted. Within moments, a portal opened in the centre of the chamber. Council agents stepped through, their cloaks billowing as they rushed to the dungeon. The door to Elizabeth's cell flung open, and the room was flooded with light. "She's barely alive," murmured one of the agents, placing fingers against her neck. "Quick, stabilise her! Otherwise, we will los

The small insect darted through the trees, its wings glowing faintly in the dark silent night. Though small, it moved as though drawn by a force beyond this world. It passed over forests and fields until it reached the quiet little town nestled between two hills, on the outskirts of the city, at Morgan’s home. It hovered briefly outside the window, then slipped through the narrowest crack in the frame silently. The living room was dimly lit, silent and dusty. Morgan sat in a worn armchair, his head tilted back, eyes closed, lost in thought. He hadn’t been sleeping well in the past few days. Dreams had haunted him, memories and nightmares that weren’t his, voices he didn’t recognise whispering things he didn't recognise. The insect landed on the floor silently, its body radiating strange energy. Then, slowly, its form began to change. The glow from its wings intensified, and its limbs elongated. The shimmer turned to skin, her silver hair flowing like silk. In seconds, the insect w

The dungeon was damp, layered with the stench of decay from years of disuse. Water dripped from cracks in the stone walls, pooling on the uneven floor. On the floor, the stones were rough and cold making Grandma Elizabeth shiver to the cold. Her head lay on her side, her hands tied behind her back with enchanted iron chains that cut her skin every time she tried to move. Her wrists were raw and bruised, and each small shift sent a wave of agony up her arms. The chains were inscribed with ancient runes that sapped her strength to keep her subdued. She slowly opened her eyes against the harsh rays. Her breaths came in shallow and slow gasps making her feel as though she were drowning in the thick darkness of the cell. In the distance, she could hear the scurrying of insects, creeping closer and every so often, she felt the brush of their legs against her dehydrated skin. She clenched her teeth, forcing herself not to scream. She wouldn’t give them the satisfaction, watching her s

The sword felt cold, even through the minion’s thick, clawed hands. Its blade shimmered with a subtle red hue mirroring Lucifer’s intent. The dark aura surrounding it whispered death. One of Lucian's trusted minions stared into its cruel shimmer, something unexpected flickered in his eyes, a memory. Not his own, but one etched deep in his mind through countless battles fought at Lucian’s side. He had seen his master bleed, seen him fall to his knees for Stella. He had watched as Lucian defied all odds to protect the woman who had captured the core of his soul. He remembered the moment Lucian gave up his immortality for her safety. The day he almost perished just to breathe life into her broken body. And now, he was to hand Lucian the weapon that would slit her throat? He gripped the hilt tighter, hiding the tremble in his fingers. "A fine blade, my Lord," he said flatly, bowing to Lucifer. But his voice lacked the reverence the others wore like armour. Lucifer didn’t notice. He ha
