Kriiing!

When I woke up in the morning, I immediately got up to go to the bathroom to get ready for school. A week passed and today is my first day to attend International Sanders Academy.

When I got to the gate again, I first stood in front and seemed to be looking at the big building because up until now I still couldn’t believe it. Some are coming in who are obviously students—

Beep! Beep! A car honked so I was surprised and turned around and saw a black car. He made a hand gesture as if pushing me aside on the road.

“Ah sorry,” I apologized so I stepped aside.

I thought it would just go away and pass by me but he suddenly lowered the window where I was facing and looked at me with his black shades.

“I don't know if you're really blind Miss but the road where students can walk is separated from the car lane. But if you just really want a car to run you over and block the road, can you just do it on the highway?” at once he raised the window of his car again before driving away.

What did he say?! I gritted my teeth in anger. I already said I’m sorry. His insults are so harsh. Early in the morning he already ruined my day.

I brought out a sigh to calm down. Good for him that I don’t know who he is so I could not hunt him down to teach him a lesson. I immediately walked into the big school and while I was just walking down the hallway, some were looking at me but would also immediately return to what they were doing. Others didn’t mind at all. That's good. I just looked at the paper given to me because that’s where my section was.

Suddenly, they started to murmur and ran to the entrance. What's happening?

“Oh my gosh. Did you hear girl? First time, the Badboy Prince is visiting today!”

“Really?! I want to see him. They said he's very handsome.”

What? Badboy Prince? Is there such title? When have the Philippines has a prince? To my knowledge this is a democratic country.

Wait, what's my section again? 12 Helium. I stopped in front of a door. Where is it? I looked to my right to see. Wow, I’m so lucky. I found it right away. After reading the section, I was at the door when someone called me.

“Excuse me Miss?”

I stopped and turned to the caller.

“Yes Ma'am?” I asked to a person looking like a teacher.

“Are you Miss Xania?”

I'm surprised. ”Uhm ye-yes Ma'am. How did you know?” I replied.

“Ah, because Ma'am said that I need to look for a woman with thick black hair and that looks like you.”

Wow. My description is great. Yup I know that was obvious.

“The principal is waiting for you in her office,” she added to my surprise.

Oh yeah. ”Uhm thank you for the reminder. Uhm can I ask where the principal's office is?”

“Ah, just there. Turn right and you'll see her office right away,” she pointed.

“Thank you again Ma'am,” I said goodbye before going where she was saying.

When I got to the door, I knocked.

“Come in,” she said from the inside once I opened the door and looked. I was surprised because the woman sitting now seems familiar.

“Oh Xania it's you.”

Ah yes. She was the woman who interviewed me.

“Please come in and have a seat,” and that's exactly what I did. When I sat down, she spoke again.

“So Good Morning to you,” she smiled at me.

“Good Morning too Ma'am,” I smiled back

“How are you?”

“I'm fine. ”

“That's nice to hear. Have you found your classroom?”

“Yes Ma'am. It's not far from here. ”

“Yes it is so it will be easy for me to call for you,” she said. “So to start this all off, I just want to remind you the things you need to do being a scholar of our school. I was thinking of considering you under the working student scholarship but since you said in the interview that you have a job after classes, I put you in the other option. Because of the grades you showed on your card, I put you in the full tuition scholarship which you must maintain all your grades in every subject to be 90 and above... “

I wasn't surprised by what she said because... I'm used to it. I often get such scholarships when I go to a wealthy high school.

“...and not only that. So that you can pay what you have to pay, everytime I need you, I will call you during school hours so your classroom is close to my office. Don't worry. It will be easy tasks so you will not have a hard time... “

That was new, but I immediately nodded at that offer. It's better that way because I don't seem to deserve with just one condition of my scholarship if my tuition is completely free.

“...lastly, you must not skip any classes unless you are indeed excused or sick. And if ever you are, you need to have a medical certificate in order for us to believe that you really did get sick. Students now a days can easily fraud an excuse letter because of their money. You are also not allowed to bring prohibited items such as alcohol and sharp things such as knives or swords but I know you wouldn't bring any right?”

It was as if I was struck by Ma'am's last words.

“O-Of course Ma'am,” I stammered in response while straining to smile. I promise you Ma'am. I will definitely restrain myself from using my tails here.

“Good. So that's all. Hope you'll enjoy your stay here in International Sanders Academy.”

“Thank you for the warm greeting uhm Ma'am...” I looked at her nameplate on her desk. “... Ma'am Jacq—”

“Ah Jacky. Just call me Jacky Miss Xania,” she interrupted suddenly while still smiling at me.

I paused for a moment. “Ah okay uhm Ma'am Jacky,” I said simply. ”Uhm, I'll go ahead po. I might be late for my first class.”

“Okay. Good Luck,” and I finally left.

As I was just walking to my classroom, I was thinking about all the conditions for my scholarship. So first, I should have at least 90 grades in all subjects, second, I will be Ma'am's servant, third don't be absent and fourth don't bring sharp objects. Maybe... I can handle it. What is new to me is the second and the last.

It’s hard not to carry sharp things because my own hair and tails are sharp. That's still my specialty, especially when I'm angry. My tails can be triggered in no time and poke things around.

But I can do this. It's for my education and I have to stay in this school because I think, the answers to all my questions are here.

When I arrived at the classroom, it was good and the teacher was not there yet. It's only 7:45 in the morning and our first subject will start at 8. There are many more vacant seats so I went to a seat in the third row and would have sat down...

Pak! To my surprise, suddenly a hand landed on its desk. It was really loud. The chair might break in no time.

“Hey, don't you know that this seat is reserved for the Badboy Prince?” this student girl said.

Instead of being completely surprised by what she said, I raised an eyebrow. When was there a policy to reserve a seat in a classroom?

“Ahh sorry,” I forced a smile. “I’ll go other seats then.”

I was about to go to a chair when that same student spoke again that stopped me.

“You can’t sit to either seats. If you want to sit down, line up with them and wait for the Badboy Prince to arrive.”

I looked at those she was referring to and there was a line of students, both girls and boys standing in the back. That's too much. Is he some kind of a royal that every seat in this classroom need to be reserved? This is getting annoying.

“Uhm...” I just looked around.

“Oh, why are you still standing there?” the girl student asked.

Oh you want a challenge? I can throw that chair in your face in no time, girl student. Don't ruin my first day here.

“Is there another choice?” I asked forcefully smiling and it was obvious that I was holding back.

She didn't say a word and gave me a look. This girl needs to better watch what she should say or at least answer me or else I will find her name and hunt her down at night for her to learn a lesson.

“...there is,” she replied suddenly. Oh good she answered me. “You can sit in the corner next to the window,” she pointed out.

I looked at it and was a little surprised. Ah okay. I approached the chair she pointed to.

No one is sitting here because it is made of wood and obviously, it looks old and will be destroyed in no time. Wait, I looked around and it seemed like almost all the students were looking at me so I was surprised. Hmmm… seems like I knew what that girl was planning so she pointed this to me. I immediately put my bag on it and was surprised because it broke in no time.

“Hahaha,” they all laughed. Great. Good thing I thought of not sitting down because if I did, something might happen and I could do something to them. Also, if it's already broken, why haven't they thrown it away yet? To accommodate and make a fool out of new students?

I just grabbed my bag and examined the chair carefully. I had to fix this because I had nowhere else to sit. Because it's for their prince that I don't know if that person is alive because I badly want to hunt him down so we don't have a problem sitting down. Also, I suppose that prince is just one person so why don't they let someone else sit in the other seats? Annoying.

I looked behind me and saw a book shelf and noticed something under it. I immediately went over there and took the thing. I was shown a box and it came with a hammer. At first I wondered why but I also opened the box and it contained nails.

It's really amazing why there is something like this in a classroom but it’s a good thing since I need this now. Since that chair is made of wood, I can fix it.

“Oh my gahd, what is she doing?” a girl student questioned pretentiously.

Pok, pok, pok! I ignored them and continued fixing the chair.

“What a loser,” another commented.

At least hardworking right? Unlike you, just sit there and wait for your prince.

“Oh My Gash! The Badboy Prince is coming,” whispered one of the girl students that startled me.

Did I hear that right? Why did she have to whisper if she could just shout it out to the whole class that prince was coming?

But I was curious so I turned around just to see who that prince that they adore and needed to reserve almost all the seats in the classroom just for him?

There was a guy standing in the doorway holding his black jacket that was hanging on his right shoulder while the other hand was in the pocket of his pants. He has black hair and eyes. Okay, all I can say is, he has the looks. The seriousness of his face came out him being arrogant so maybe that’s his title, the Badboy Prince.

But it's making me wonder. Why was the classroom suddenly quiet when he arrived? In my mind, because of the attitude of the girls a while ago, I knew that they would fight and do anything for that frowning prince to sit down at where they want him to be... but no one really spoke.

Hay, I don’t know. I no longer knew what’s going on. I'll just continue to fix my seat.

Pok, pok, pok! The noise of the hammer broke the silence inside the classroom. It was as if I suddenly felt tension because some students suddenly looked in my direction with angry eyes asking me, 'What the heck are you doing?'

I just raised an eyebrow at them in response and continued what I was doing. Just a few minutes passed before I finished fixing the seat. I looked at the classroom clock and it was almost 8. I wiped my forehead with my arm because of the sweat and shook the chair to see if it’s okay. Nothing happened. I put my bag on afterwards and the seat didn’t break.

I breathe out a sigh because of that and a smile etched on my face because of what I had done. Good thing Axton teaches me whenever there are broken things in the café. You know how nasty Iris and Lizar are so often some things break in the café just because of them.

I put the hammer and nail back under the shelf and was about to sit excitedly in the chair I had fixed when I noticed the presence of someone next to me. I looked up to see who it was and was surprised.

Here in front of me is the prince they are referring to. He looked back at me with his serious stares. Honestly, his looks were scary but I saw something even more poisonous than that so I just raised an eyebrow at him in astonishment.

Why is he staring at me? Does he want to say something?

Kriinngg! Suddenly the bell rang as he averted his gaze from me and without a word sat down suddenly in the vacant seat next to me. I immediately sat down on the seat I had fixed because of the sound of the bell. I immediately took a notebook and ballpen from my bag to prepare for the notes.

But I couldn't help but wonder and look at the person next to me because of how he acted earlier. Why do I feel like I’ve seen this guy?

He noticed that I was looking at him so he also looked back at me with a frown.

“Why?” he asked seriously. “Should anyone be sitting here?”

I also frowned at what he did. “No one really.”

“Good,” he replied condescendingly as he looked back in front of him.

I also looked at the front after that. This Badboy Prince is arrogant. His title belongs to him.
