Chapter Four

Captured

When i got home, Dave still wasn't home, i took off my clothes and collapsed on the bed, that was pretty close, he just knows all the right things to say i breathed out. 

"Honey am home and I bought dinner" Dave screamed as he walked in and closed the door with his feet. 

I got up and went downstairs to meet him, he aimed to kiss me but i turned my face letting the kiss fall on my cheek. Let me have those, i took the bags and went to the kitchen without looking at him. He removed his coat and kept it on the sofa

"I am sorry" he said as he followed me into the kitchen "you know I would have made it if it wasn't for work"  

"Okay" i replied

"Okay? that's all I get?"

I stopped to give him a quick stare, what would you prefer? It's not like you can leave your work to come home if I requested it, so yes Okay is all you get, go freshen up, I will have the dinner ready in ten"

"Alright" he said as he went upstairs. 

After setting up the table, i meant to go upstairs and call him, but i decided to take his jacket with me so i went over the sofa to grab his jack, and as i did, something fell off the jacket, i bent and picked it up, it was a folded paper of some secret government locations. This can't be right. 

"Mmm, something smells nice" he said as he descends the stairs.

I quickly put the paper back and went on sit at the dining. Half way into dinner

"Dave" i called 

"Yes hun" 

"What was your job again?"  

"Why?"

"Just tell me"

"I work in a public office down town"

"Public office, ok yea, so I looked in your jacket and i found this secret government stuff" 

"Wait what? so now you are going through my stuff, what the heck is wrong with you? he said clearly upset

"So it is true, this just confirmed it, what other secrets are keeping from me?

"What? so now you are a detective? What are you even talking about?

"Dave...stop lying to me, just stop, what exactly is your new job?"

Dave breathed out 

"It's some government stuff, am not supposed to discuss it"

"Some government stuff, okay, is this government stuff of yours dangerous?" "Kinda yeah"

"Damn it Dave, what the hell, what if something happens to you out there? what if something happens to me? I didn't sign up for this, why are you even interested in something like that?" 

"Calm down ok, nothing will happen to us okay, and if anything happens to come up, we will be protected" 

"By who? You mean like in the movies? You know that shit always blow up, you know better than this, we just got married for goodness sake"

"Sarah, pls calm down, I assure you that all precautions have been taken against that"

"Precautions? You are some sort of government secret agent and you are talking to me about precautions, no amount of precautions can get you out of the situation this can put you"

"Pls babe, don't make a big deal out of this, it's just a job"

"It's not just a job Dave, this is life and death"

A text message came into his phone

"Babe, let's talk about this later, I gotta go" "What? we ain't done here, I mean were you even planning on telling me?"

"I know, we will continue later" 

"I scoffs, wow!" 

He zoomed off without looking back, I just got up and cleared the table before heading upstairs. About 30mins later, the downstairs door opened

"Dave, is that you? Dave?" there was no respond so i went downstairs to check it out and there stood two men with guns

"Oh hello sweetheart"

 my first instinct said run and I obeyed, only that it didn't work out great, I didn't realize there was a third guy, he caught me from behind before I could even take three steps, I struggled to get free but his arm was so firm and i was no match, he held me in place while the other guy injected me with sleeping meds, I felt my strength leaving me and all went blank..
