CHAPTER TWO

DOMINIQUE'S POV

The bright morning light greeted me as soon as I opened my eyes. I stretched my arms a little and closed my eyes again while snuggling my pillow.

Hmm, my pillow smells so good today! I thought.

I smiled as I inhaled the masculine smell of my pillow— I was surprised and my eyes widened, realizing that instead of a pillow, I was caressing the muscular chest of a man. I scanned my eyes around and that's when I realized this was not my room. I looked at myself and was immediately stunned to see that I'm wearing nothing except my undergarments.

“Ahhhhhh! What did you do to me? You're an asshole! A fucking asshole!” I shouted and I rode on top of the sleeping man, hitting him.

“Ouch! What the fuck!” he shouted back, and immediately got up, making me fall back into the bed.

Now, we are facing each other and staring into each other's eyes. He swallowed as his gaze dropped to my chest. I screamed again when I saw a big bulge inside his bixer shorts.

"You're a pervert! Why is that getting hard?” I shouted as I pointed to that part in the middle of his thighs.

Instead of answering me, he slowly moved towards me while smiling. It was as if my mind had suddenly gone blank and I felt nervous. We were only a few inches away from each other and I could hardly move because one wrong move of mine would surely make our lips meet. I gasped when he ran the tip of his nose on my neck before he stopped and whispered in my ear.

“That’s what you call 'morning erection’, Lady,” his warm breath fanned on my exposed skin, making me feel goosebumps.

“You devil! Pervert! ” I shouted and attacked him but he was quick to dodge my attacks.

Laughing, he got up and went straight to a door that I guess was a bathroom. Embarrassed, I stood up to look for my clothes but I could not find them. I looked at the bedsheet, but there was no stain on it. I also observed my lower body and I didn't feel anything strange.

I relaxed and felt like a thorn was plucked out of me when I realized my femininity was still intact. I thought I had completely lost my most cherished pride.

I grabbed the blanket and wrapped it around my body when suddenly the door opened, revealing the familiar man. I looked at him sharply, and spoke.

“Where are my clothes?” I asked him with my eyebrows raised.

“I washed it. Just stay here for a while, I'll just get your clothes,” he said and left the room.

While he was outside, I scanned his room. It was actually huge and very manly. The walls were painted in a dark blue accent and the curtains were sky blue. There is a small bedside table next to his bed where the lampshade and a picture frame was situated. I picked it up and looked at it carefully. He was smiling widely at the picture, showing his pearly white teeth. He had that bad boy look, and an ear piercing but it didn’t make him look less gorgeous.

I shook my head and immediately returned the picture frame to the table. For Pete’s sake, I don’t even know him. He’s nothing but a random stranger I came across with. I need to get out of here.

A few moments later, the bedroom door opened again and he entered with my clothes that were now dry.

Without a word, I took my clothes from him.

"If you want to wash, the bathroom is there," he said while pointing at the door he entered earlier. "I'll just go downstairs and cook for us," he said before turning around again and going out.

“Don’t bother, I won’t be staying. I need to go home,” I said coldly.

“Oh Come on, I helped you last night, didn’t I?” he said, trying to trick me.

“In that case, then thank you. But I still need to go home,” I said and then I turned around to get dressed in the bathroom.

I was only one step away when he grabbed my hand and stopped me. I violently withdrew my hand and turned to him, getting ready to scold him but he caught me off guard.

“I insist. This is how you’ll repay me for ruining my night,”bhe replied and turned around, and going out of the room.

I rolled my eyes at him. The nerve of this guy! I didn't ask for his help so, why the hell is he blaming me now. Such a dickhead!

“First of all, I already said thank you. And secondly, I didn’t ask for your help, you should have left me there,” I replied irritably.

“Tsk, tsk. That’s so kind of you,” he sarcastically remarked before saying another word, “Is this what I get for helping you last night? I’m just trying to be a good Samaritan, milady. We'll just eat breakfast, and after that, you can go home.”

For a moment, I tried to think of the best thing to do. I don’t think it would hurt to share a breakfast with this stranger. After all, he helped me. And besides, it’s not like we’re going to see each other again, aren’t we? I thought.

“Fine,” I was forced to agree.

“Good. Now, go and get dressed, milady. By the way, I’m Gale Andrew,” he said and bowed before reaching out my hand to kiss its back.

I was startled when I felt the electricity flow through us as his lips touched the back of my hand. I quickly pulled my hand because my body's reaction was unfamiliar to me. He immediately turned around and went out while I proceeded to the bathroom to get dressed.

I can’t wait to go home and sulk. I sti can't believe how one day can change everything. I remember feeling so excited to see Vonn, the reason why I decided to fly back home earlier. If I only knew what’s waiting for me, I wouldn’t have been in a hurry. I immediately wiped the tears that started to fall down my eyes. Damn, when will the pain in my heart stop? When will my eyes get tired of crying? I just want to forget everything, like it never existed at all.

I washed my face and cleaned myself before I went out of the bathroom. I was glad that Gale wasn't in the room when I got out. I decided to just leave, but before I could open the door, a pair of strong hands grabbed me.

“And where do you think you’re going? The dining is right this way, milady,” he said while pointing to the small hallway leading to the dining room.

I rolled my eyes and pulled my hand away, not letting our skins touch again. This is ridiculous! I thought I could get out of this house without him knowing. As I walked into the dining room, I couldn’t help but to marvel at his house, but I restrained myself from speaking. I don’t want him to think that I’m interested in him, because I’m surely not.

We settled ourselves at the dining table. I took some food, as an appreciation for his efforts. We started eating in silence, and it felt really awkward to eat with a stranger so I hastened the meal so I could get out of here already.

"You haven't told me your name," he commented.

“I don’t think you need to know. For sure, we won't meet again after this,” I answered seriously.

I know and I’ll make sure our paths never crossed again. He’s the kind of guy who wears the danger zone warning. And the last thing I need right now is another headache. I’m still trying to heal from the pain Vonn has inflicted in my heart. My throat suddenly choked when I remembered their deception. I guess it will take time before I totally forget about it.

"Hey, are you okay?" his question broke my trance, and brought me back to the present.

I was shaken, I didn't even realize that I had spaced out in front of him.

“Yes, I am. Can I go home now? ” I asked irritably.

Liar! I thought to myself. Who am I kidding? I am not okay, and will not be okay for long. I got up quickly and walked straight out of his house. I stopped when I realized I don’t really know where I am. And to make it worse, I don’t have my car with me. Can this day get any worse?

Gale stood behind me, a teasing smile appeared on his lips and I almost went to strangle him. I just glared at him and gave him a “what are you looking at?” look. I heard his amused chuckles, as he motioned for me to follow him to the garage.

"I'll take you home, milady," he said.

He opened the passenger seat of his black Mercedes-Benz and I immediately occupied the passenger seat silently. He turned and sat on the Driver’s seat. He started the engine and slowly drove out of the subdivision. I gave him my address and stayed quiet during the whole ride. The silence was deafening and awkward, but I intend to keep it that way.

When the car stopped in front of my apartment I hurried out of his car.

“Thank you again, for last night. And I’m so sorry for the trouble I caused you,” I said seriously.

He didn't speak, instead he just answered me with a sly smile. I turned my back and started walking into my apartment when I suddenly remembered my something. I put my hand in both my pockets to find my cellphone, but I couldn't find it.

"Looking for this?" I was distracted by his question.

He was holding my phone and he raised it up in the air. There was a smirk on his face like he’s telling me that he’s up to something.

I quickly approached him and snatched my cellphone. Annoyed, I turned around and walked again but I had just taken a step when my cellphone rang loudly. I turned to him again and saw that he was holding his cellphone, putting it in his ear.

“I got your number, Dominique.”
