“Mi Cíelo, next time I see hands around you and they’re not mine, I’ll burn him alive.” Reign growled and I felt my stomach flip in anticipation. I shouldn’t feel that way yet the intensity of his eyes made me want to push his buttons.
I walked closer to him, so close that our faces were inches apart. I tried not to let my eyes wander to his full lips or his clean-shaven beard or the way he smelled delicious or… control yourself, woman!
“Apart from our deal, I have no business with you.” I spat before yanking my arm away and storming upstairs. I heard him chuckle but I didn’t turn to face the man.
I got into my room and slammed the door shut. With a shaky breath, I headed straight to my closet and almost cried. My babies… I stared at my line of clothes and shoes, my designer bags and wristwatches. How was I supposed just to pack a few? Then again, Reign did tell me to pack my bags not some of my bags. I rolled out four of my traveling bags and started packing.
This was going to take a long while.

I think an hour passed or three but I lost track of time and I’m currently wondering if there will be any need for my new heels or if I can risk it? Nope, that didn’t even sound right. I stuffed them into my bag. I heard someone come into the walk-in closet and I didn’t bother raising my head.
“Hoe, what the hell are you doing?” Vincent asked and I looked up at him from the floor, pouting.
“I can’t leave my babies,” I whined and he scoffed. He looked around the closet and I followed his gaze and realized that I had barely packed anything.
“Me neither.” He frowned, showing me the single bag he packed. If there was one thing that made my friendship with Vincent strong, it was our love for material things and this, this was a death sentence to us.
“We can get people to bring the rest of your things.” A deep voice said and the other guy, Levi, appeared at the doorway. He looked around the room, probably judging me hard. “Just get your essentials.” He said.
I took a good look at him and had to agree that the Mar Muerto men were gorgeous. Maybe that was a criterion for joining the gang.
“Fine.” I huffed, before taking one of the bags I packed successfully.
As we stepped out of the room, two men took the bags from us. Vincent leaned down to my ear level and whispered.
“You have a lot of explaining to do.” He said and I sighed. “So help me God if you slept with Reign without telling me.”
I almost choked on my saliva before shoving him away. “I didn’t even know the guy till last night and it’s not on a friendly basis.”
“With the way he is glaring at me, you’re sure you didn’t have sex with him?” Vincent whispered again and I looked at Reign and saw the veins of his forehead popping.
“Levi take Vincent in your car.” He orders not even sparing him a glance. I immediately grip Vincent’s arm unsure of what he wanted to do with him. Vincent softly takes my hand off and gives me a small smile that spelled ‘bitch if you don’t let me go’
“I’ll be fine with Levi, Ho-sugar.” He corrected before subtly glaring at me.
I gave him a brief apologetic look before we parted ways. I watched him follow Levi whose ears were now a slight shade of pink. With the way Vincent immediately started talking to him, I wondered if my best friend had already traumatized the man.
“You have to listen to me if we’re going to be working together mi Cuelo.” I heard someone growl from beside me and I rolled my eyes while heading towards the front door. A hand gripped my elbow tightly but I shrugged it off.
“I remember this being a partnership not slavery.” I spat and instead of taking me seriously, his eyes danced in amusement. “And while we are at it, don’t you touch me again,” I warned. My blood boiled as his expression looked even more amused than before.
“This is going to be fun.” He muttered before walking out of my house. I rolled my eyes before turning to look at the place I’ve lived in since college. There was no way I was just giving it up. I would definitely be back after everything.
I stepped out to see Reign casually leaning against the passenger's door. He saw me and grinned before opening the door. I entered the car and crossed my arms in annoyance. It was infuriating how authoritative he was.
He may be drop-dead gorgeous but his character was nasty.
He got on the other side of the car and got it started. A notification came into my phone and it was my boss adding additional shifts for everyone. I groaned in exhaustion. Of course, the bitch wants more money for her vacation.
“I’ll be keeping my job at the club,” I stated, not looking up from my phone.
“You’re doing no such thing.”
I paused for a second before laughing. “I don’t remember asking for your permission.”
“You’re not going back there.” Reign said again and I simply smiled.
“We’ll see,” I replied, closing my eyes and deciding to get a bit of shut-eye.
If Reign thinks he can just barge his way into my life and control me, then he has another thing coming. The last thing Devinity Garcia would ever do was bend to another person’s will, especially not an egocentric gorgeous mafia man.
“I’m seriously not going to let you leave.” He growled and I smiled on the inside.
Seems like my sudden simple replies were unsettling.
“No problem.”
“Mi cielo…”
I could feel his eyes burning the side of my head and it gave me the peace to drift off to sleep.
Fuck the mafia. Reign might be the one to kill me before then.

Devinity I stared at the empty spot in front of me. One minute I had a gun pressed to my back and the next I’m wondering if I imagined the whole thing. A book my father wrote? This has to be a joke. Why did it have to come up now after so many years? Then there was Reign Garcia. The entire Chicago knew who he was. The most feared mafia leader in and out of the state. I heard stories about him; terrifying ones but coming in contact with him wasn’t on my bingo card. At the same time, the rumors didn’t do any justice to his looks. If we had met under different circumstances, then maybe..Get yourself together!!The front door opened and I jumped in shock. My heart rate calmed a little when I saw it was just Vincent stumbling in. “Deprived wives are the best.” He exclaimed, kicking off his shoes to the side. I rolled my eyes at his comment. I quickly hid the gun I had under the blanket before he noticed.“So I’m guessing you had a blast.” I said, my voice was a little shaky in the en
REIGN“Who the fuck are you?!” She screamed and I smiled, she does have a potty mouth but it sounded sexy coming from her. “How did you get in?” She asked, quickly sitting up and covering her legs with the blanket.“Devinity Avila, daughter of Theo but goes by the name Devinity Mateo.” I watched as she froze, watching me suspiciously.“Who are you?” She spat and I clutched my chest in fake hurt.“I’m hurt you don’t know me Cíelo. I’m Reign Garcia.”“Mar Muerto.” She whispered, at least she knew the gang name.“Correct. I should give you a prize.” I saw her hand move under the blanket and I felt my insides bubble in excitement but I didn’t let it show. I wanted to see how far she could go.“What are you doing here?” She asked, her hands stopped moving and I smiled. In a flash, she took out a revolver and pointed it straight at my head. I burst out in laughter and she tightened her grip. “I swear I’ll shoot.” Levi, who had been out of sight ever since, slowly walked behind her and press
REIGN“One more finger.” I ordered while lighting my cigarette. One of my men placed the trembling man’s left hand on the table and another quickly chopped off his pinky finger, equalizing the two hands. The unfortunate man let out a loud scream as he clutched his hand close to his chest.“So,” I blew out the smoke, “where's my truck?” I asked and the man shook in fear, sweat drenched his body and his lips trembled. “I don’t..”“You really don’t like fingers, do you?” I signaled the man in charge of holding the unfortunate man’s hand and he grabbed the right hand.“Wait wait.. I was ambushed, boss. It was stolen.” I chuckled at his excuse. A truck load of imported guns was just stolen? Who was he kidding?“Not what your account balance said as of two hours ago.” I took a long drag of the cigarette and knocked the ash out. The man’s eyes widened in surprise and I felt a bit hurt that he didn’t think I would catch him. He underestimated me. “I have information that will interest you
“Bloody hell Vincent, this is how most horror movies start. Going to a party you weren’t invited to. Imagine if it’s a cult.” I said, turning around in front of the mirror to look at my reflection. I was dressed in a black halter neck mermaid maxi dress, and it hugs my curves like a second skin. The luxurious fabric feels decadent against my body, and the halter neck accentuates my toned shoulders. As I gaze into the mirror, I'm struck by the way the dress showcases my figure - the mermaid silhouette cinches at my waist, highlighting my hourglass shape which I thanked my weekly workout for. The real showstopper, though, is the daring slit that runs up the side of the dress, all the way to the top of my thigh. It adds a touch of sultry sophistication to the overall.“Or I could be heaven for someone like me.” Vincent said nonchalantly. He was dressed in a simple black shirt and grey suit pants. The first three buttons were open and he stared at the tie in his hand, probably wondering
I felt his sweaty palms rub my arms slowly. His breath quickened and all I had to do was kiss his neck. I could feel him through my dress and it took everything in me not to puke at the contact. “What do I have to do to make you mine?” His voice came out in a low whisper and I sighed loudly, hoping he took it as a sign that I was also invested in whatever was going on.“I heard you were part of the El Alma mafia.” I decided to push the buttons now he was at his peak. He froze underneath me and I leaned forward and gave his feathery kisses all over his exposed hairy chest. “It’s so hot. You with guns. I can only imagine how scary you were.” Plan B: Stroke his egoI heard him chuckle and I almost rolled my eyes. “I wouldn’t say scary but I did have a lot of body count..” his hands trailed down to the V-neck of my dress. “Not this kind of body count sugar.” I let out the most fake giggle to exist and rubbed his chest. “I’m sure you were one of the top bosses. Apart from Enma of course
