Vera.

    I finally went back to the pack. And as expected, they were excited to see me. Or should I say... Jeff was happy to see me. Commander Snake still had that indifferent look on although I caught a hint of approval. Kira looked like she was going to explode, her eyes blazing and ears red. I paid no attention to her.

    " Vera!" Jeff said as he rushed to hug me. I stiffened, unfamiliar with the warmth. " For a second there, I thought you wouldn't return." He muttered against my ears.

     " Hey... " I began as we disengaged. " I said I'll be back, and here I am. Although I'll have to admit, I didn't want to be back."  He nodded, his lips still curled up. I grimaced, looking around. The base looked different now... Sophisticated. You wouldn't even know this place is a home for highly trained robbers.

     " Wow... This place looks amazing. How did you get all the money to afford all of this?" I ask offh
