Threatened

Chloe stares at Isabella in the lobby. The woman looks elegant, composed, and deeply unhappy.

"I don't think we have anything to discuss" Chloe says.

"Please" Isabella's voice is quiet, "just five minutes,there's a café across the street"she pressed further

Against her better judgment, Chloe follows her outside,the café is small, tucked between two office buildings,they order coffee and sit at a corner table.

Isabella wraps her hands around her cup. "How long have you known Lucas?"she began calmly,

"A week,professionally"she stated

"And yet he's already assigned security to you,already protecting you like you're…." She stops, "he doesn't do that for just anyone"

"Is that what you think?" Isabella's laugh is bitter,"Lucas Sterling doesn't invest in people,he consumes them,and right now, he's consuming you"
