It’s been two long nights since I’ve been able to see, hug, and talk to Starr.

Ever since I lost her again, I can’t bring myself to eat. I can’t even drink water. My mind is consumed by worry and I can’t find peace.

Despite Bianca’s seemingly good care of Starr, my anxiety won’t ease until I see with my own eyes my child, long separated from me—the child Lance and I share, who is not in our custody.

I’m sitting on the bed now, staring at the door waiting for Lucian to come. This is the first time I’ve ever waited and hoped so desperately for him to return quickly, so we can discuss Starr.

It’s been dark outside for a few hours, I’m not sure what time it is exactly but he should be here by now.

I got out of bed and looked out the window overlooking the vast ocean.

“Hon.”

Hearing that voice inside me I immediately felt angry. I didn’t let it surface, but swallowed the rage instead.
