Protection

Walter Bear parked his black Hummer on the promenade and looked through the window towards the B&B where he was going to spend the next few days. Such a car was unusual in this sleepy little town, and he had attracted some attention from a few young boys and their dads.

 He had already done a recce by driving slowly past, not that he could see much. The lights were on in the front room of the house, and maybe it was a lounge or the dining room, it did seem very quiet at the moment. In the upstairs room, the light was on, and the windows were almost floor to ceiling, giving an exceptional view of the beach and sea.

Just as he was about to get out of the car, someone stood in the window; she looked out first at one side and to the other side towards his car. She flicked her long dark hair back stared at the sea.
