Turbulence

"Nick, hey c'mon, we'll sort it," Gabriel stroked Nick's hair as he rested it his chest. "Do you think this is true?" Gabriel was not going to beat about the bush in this situation; he needed to know. They both needed to know, especially as Nick was always one to brush things aside if it was going to cause him trouble.

"Do you think she's your daughter?"

He felt Nick screw his eyes up, wrinkle his nose as if he didn't know what to say. Gabriel pushed Nick's head away from his chest so that he could look in his eyes.

"Is she yours?" Gabriel cocked his head in question as Nick slowly raised his eyes to look at him.

"If the letter her mother wrote is true then," he shrugged. "Probably...yes." Nick's voice cracked, and he closed his eyes in resignation.

"What letter?"

Nick shuffled the papers on the table and pulled the letter from his ex-girlfriend. Gabriel scanned it. Hmm, that sounded promising. Why write to your ex to tell him you were pregn
