CHAPTER 58

TOM'S POV

What was wrong with Emilio? I clearly had just sent him on his way because he had some matters of urgency to attend to and then went about my duties when my phone started to ring. It was the nurse from the hospital. Apparently, Emilio had been so kind enough as to have given her my contact and I could not tell when or how he had done that because I had not witnessed it in the tiniest bit. However, he had done that and she called me on the phone to announce the good news.

"Detective, the lady is awake." She said to me,

"Lady? Detective? What are you talking about? Who are you?" I asked her, totally confused.

"I'm a nurse who was asked to watch over the female assassin in the ward. By my take, I believe you must be a detective asked to keep an eye on her. I was asked to give you a close call too." She said to me,

"Did you call Emilio?" I asked her.
