Chapter Two

The Ekalot household are the most prestigious household in the country, not only do their riches come from old money they are rumored to run the country making the president a mere puppet. Though this theory had been debunked many times it never left the mouth of the people.

So when Delilah Ekalot the first daughter, announced her engagement to Dimitri, the country was left shocked. They were shocked because the person she was engaged to had no social status, neither power, Dimitri was just a Cook's son.

Admist the engagement there were rumours Delilah was interested in women as she never set eyes for a man all that was debunked after her engagement to Dimitri.

Dimitri was very handsome, his jet black curly hair, hazel colored eye's, delinquent smile and perfect built body was popular among the ladies. They would say Delilah was Dimitri's god, his saviour and Lord if not for her he would just be irrelevant. Though Dimitri was said to be handsome he was more handsome by Delilah's side and so he earned the name as her trophy husband.

Despite these rumours the couple were very much in love and paid no attention to the media. It seemed that way but there was a rumor, what made this rumor different ?

That's because Delilah ended up in a coma for almost a year, 11 months to be exact.

What was the rumor ? You may wonder ?

Delilah cheated on Dimitri, because of her unfaithfulness they grew distant. Dimitri wanted a break but Delilah wouldn't have it, so he left her and she went after him to kill him, on her way she got into an accident which landed her in a coma for exactly 11 months. That is why it took three months before he visited her, he slightly resented her for cheating.

"Delilah.." Dimitri flashes a smile at Delilah as she grazes down the stairs, her face showed no expression, it's understandable she has no knowledge of the man before her.

The moment she was finally reached the last step, Dimitri reached out his hand and grips gently to her right hand and kisses it. "You look beautiful tonight.." he compliments her cream colored dress.

"Thank you." she hissed yanking her hand away from his grasp and quickly turned to face the maids who were giving her a pep talk and fanning her face. Dimitri sheepishly smiled because anytime he compliments her faces blossoms red.

"I think I'm Ill my face is burning red." He heard her whisper.

"You're just flustered.." the maid called Mathilda chuckles, when her gaze falls on Dimitri her smile fades.

Delilah quickly turns to face him, she looked nervous but breathes.

"Where are you taking me tonight ?" Her nervous aura disappears and what was left was a cold one, it wasn't familiar with Dimitri.

"I arranged a date for the both of us, we are going boating. You told me you've always wanted to go boating." Dimitri sadly smiles he looks back at her for any spark of reaction, Delilah eyes glimmer a bit.

"Shall we ?" He invites her with a smile.

It's been a week since word spread that Dimitri finally visited Delilah, everyone was talking how he finally remembered the mouth that feeds him, some even spiced up debates with the previous rumor of Delilah allegedly cheating and how the two would eventually break up. Others were more interested when Delilah's would show off her new trophy husband.

So taking Delilah on a date would probably debunk the nasty rumors and probably bring them a little bit closer, those were Dimitri's thoughts.

On the boating date, it was quiet Dimitri was paddling and Delilah was on the other side of the boat eating the sweets prepared for her.

"How are the sweets ?" Dimitri asked.

"They are delicious, how did you know they are my favorite ?" Delilah asked.

Dimitri smirked and paused his paddling. "Because I know everything about you..." Silence envelope the atmosphere, Delilah had a look around the waters and view of the city fascinated her.

"You are my husband then, I'm ashamed I've forgotten everything about you." Delilah voiced in a brood tone. "I was mean to you when you visited me, I really had no idea I was married, I don't even remember the deaths of my parents and Vlad.." the word Vlad came out as a whisper.

"I'm indeed worthless, how could I forget.." a tear stroll down Delilah's cheek.

Dimitri put down the paddle and moved to hug Delilah. "You're not worthless, it's not your fault you lost your memory.." he comforted her with his soothing voice.

All of a sudden, the squirms and sobs stopped. "Then who's fault is it ?" The question left Dimitri speechless.

"Please say something, tell me, who should I blame for my memory loss Dimitri ?" Delilah whisper in between the hug. "Should I blame you ?" He still remain quiet in retaliation to her question.

"Delilah..." That's the only thing that came out of his mouth. "I'm sorry, please forgive me, I'm really sorry." Dimitri gasped still trapped in between a hug.

"Why are you begging for forgiveness ?" Delilah asks.

"I should have paid you a visit earlier but I took my time, maybe if I was the first person you saw when you woke up you could have at least remembered me.." Delilah broke the hug as the two gently gaze at each other.

"I want to remember what we were, so instead of apologising help me remember who you were to me, make me fall for you a second time." A smirk left Dimitri's lips, his hand cups her face stroking it gently he leans close warming her face with his breath. "As you wish.." he whispered planting a kiss on her lips and down the side of her neck.

A soft moan escaped Delilah's lips which intrigued Dimitri, he didn't want to show this side of him to Delilah, she was warming up to him he didn't want to make her uncomfortable. But as her body glimmer under the night sky it was begging to be touched.

Dimitri breath hard, slowly pinning Delilah on the boat, every sigh she whispered was taking a toll on him, he quickly got away from her.

"Did I do something wrong ?" Delilah asked but before he could reply her a bright light shine on them and the sound of an Helicopter progress.

"How wonderful, Delilah and Dimitri boating despite the rumors.." a voice yelled, it was the news media and as expected their private date had been ruined.

"Delilah, Dimitri have you both reconciled admist the cheating rumors ?" The voice from above yelled leaving Delilah in a state of confusion.

"Cheating rumors ? " Delilah frowned and turned to face Dimitri who seemed to be on a call.

"Come get us, we've been discovered.." those were his last words before hanging up a call.

"Don't worry, we'll be out of here soon.." Dimitri assured her picking up his paddle to row the boat close to the docks.

The Helicopter still stuck to them until they reached the docks safely and were escorted with security to a black Jeep.

Before they entered, Delilah froze in her steps which worried Dimitri.

"What's wrong ?" Dimitri asked.

Dimitri noticed her smile, his first thought was she was forcing it.

"I'm just tired, thank you for tonight.." she got in the black Jeep and he followed behind with a smirk.
