Chapter Five

"Delilah.." Dimitri whispered leaning against the frames of the door of her office. She was drastically going through some documents in a rush. "Just a minute.." she echoed comparing some files, Dimitri sighed knowing his wife was a workaholic.

He ran his finger through his curly hair heading towards her direction "your eyes have been.."

"Done." before he could finish his sentence she interrupted him.

"Thank goodness.." Dimitri grinned victoriously. "Dimitri ? It's kind of obvious, you don't like coming to the mansion, my parents house." Delilah mutters to Dimitri who looked unease.

The Ekalot residence was a huge mansion in the best estate, it's housed countless generations and more, so it was surprising when Delilah moved out of the mansion with her husband and bought their own place, a few relatives criticize their decision and shunned them.

"It's quite big." Dimitri replied sheepishly. "Our apartment is quite big too." Delilah says in the end Dimitri walks up to her planting a kiss on her forehead.

"If only you could remember how much your family were against our relationship, you would understand." Dimitri whispers, the only emotions that could be expressed from Delilah was slight guilt, she could not recall the struggles they both went through, she didn't even remember the death of her parents.

Dimitri notices the change in the atmosphere, he didn't bother to say anything else, he didn't want to make her feel like the villain.

They both left her office quietly by each other side, with different thoughts.

Fiona who was on her night gown cast her gaze on the two while strolling, her eyes landed on Delilah then on Dimitri who also was stealing a glance, they both shared a quick stare and averted their gaze.

"Delilah, Dimitri, good evening work wasn't hectic for the both of you I assume ?" Fiona greeted, the couple stopped on their tracks so did Fiona. "Work was fine, it's barely 6pm and you're already dressed for bed ?" Delilah criticizes.

"It's too early, I'm off to get a glass of wine, care to join me Delilah ? It's been a while since we drank together." Fiona smirks pushing her invitation forward to Delilah.

"I don't remember sharing a bottle of wine with you Fiona, perhaps you're confusing me with one of your closest friends." Delilah genuinely replies, on the other hand Fiona was having her fun she's never shared a bottle with her sister, but the amnesia rumors served as an advantage.

"Perhaps the rumors..."

"Fiona, stop this nonsense." Dimitri sternly warned Fiona he held on to Delilah and says to her. "Delilah let's go, I'm exhausted as it is."

Again Dimitri and Fiona shared one last look before they walked passed each other.

Fiona who had a satisfied grin hears her name being called she turns to see Delilah ignoring Dimitri who just wanted to leave.

"Let's share a bottle this friday at the wine parlor, you're aware of my temper don't you dare come late." Delilah threatens and walks passed Dimitri who face palmed himself, he didn't spare time to scold Fiona so he ran after Delilah.

                      •••••••

"Don't you dare come late, and you are not even here, what a hypocrite." Fiona pouted.

She respected her sisters invitation and came early as requested but Delilah didn't even mention the time, she tried calling but her phone claimed to be busy for the past two hours, in the end she gave up and slip into a nap.

A few hours later, laughter was heard disturbing Fiona's nap, she groaned sluggishly jerking her self to consciousness. She smacked her tongue salivating her mouth wet since it was dry, the bottle that she picked from one of the shelves popped open as she drinks directly from it.

"Good Lord.." she moans in favor that the wine served as a liquid to quench her thirst.

"Oh Fiona, you came.." Delilah shows up with Theodore who immediately shows uninterest towards Fiona. "I'm sorry I kept you waiting, Theodore took much of my time, Theodore you've met Fiona before?" Delilah introduces the two, both of them had mixed feelings of each other.

"Oh yes, wasn't she the one that kissed allegedly kissed Dimitri at your graduation party.." Theodore smirks while Fiona eyes widened in shock. "Excuse me ?" Fiona snarled in defense.

"Why are you putting up a fit, Delilah forgave you." Theodore smirked looking at Delilah's reaction who showed no emotion.

"Yes I did, will you excuse us, we have business." Delilah spoke calmly as Fiona nodded picking up the bottle. "Not you Fiona, I'm done with Theodore, I have business with you." Delilah says shooting a glare at Theodore who just realized he fucked up.

"Delilah.." before he could show his remorse she interrupts him. "Please get out, I need to be alone with my sister." Delilah says strutting gracefully to a shelf and picking up one of the wines, she popped it open and got a glass and poured to her fill and drank from it.

Fiona stood clueless holding her bottle of wine. "Don't stand, it looks like I'm punishing you." Delilah hissed continuing sipping from her glass.

Fiona reach out for a glass, pouring for herself, she then drinks it.

A glass passed, Delilah sloched back against the couch.

"So why did you insist on drinking with me ?" Fiona asks.

"Didn't you claim I normally do ? I thought if I recreate a scene with you, I'll recall those memories." Delilah says.

"Why ??" Fiona questions, pouring herself another glass, she lifts it up to her mother and carefully gulps it while waiting for an answer.

"Because, every memory I have of you not a single one of them is good." Fiona chokes on the wine on hearing her sister's words.

"Fiona, I fear that I lost my memories of my husband, our parents and Vlad our elder brother?" Delilah confess, Fiona immediately acts shocked Delilah is confessing but more shock pretending that she didn't know already.

"You already knew, so why are you shocked ?"

Fiona went pale, her sister knew about her knowledge, she could have started with that instead of confessing.

"Well I could never hide anything from you Delilah, it's tiresome." Fiona says, however she doesn't stop drinking her wine.

"Do you suspect I was the one who leaked the information? You called for a drink with me to punish me, I wonder who else you could do probation is by far the harshest punishment." Fiona says confident in her predicament, probation was by far the worse punishment.

"I could strip the Ekalot's name from you and sign you up for rehabilitation." Delilah threatens in the most calm tone. Fiona wanted to say she wouldn't, but she couldn't risk it.

"Or I could be more strict on your probation and shield you from social media and lock you in your room for six months or till when you lose your sanity.." Fiona lets go of the bottle and glass which shattered into peices, Delilah had the most cunning and beautiful smile.

"You've soiled the carpet, oh gosh what If I made you a maid instead." Delilah's threat made Fiona go down on her knees, Fiona would rather die than succumb to labor.

"Delilah please forgive me, I'm sorry I didn't pay you a visit at the hospital, I'm sorry for luxuriously spending past the budget, please lock me away from civilization instead, I'll lick the carpet right now if you command me.." tears stroll down Fiona's cheek, the horror of being a maid moved her to tears.

Delilah sighed, "How pitiful."

"Those who serve you, you treat them like shit but you have a problem with serving others.." Delilah scornfully mocked Fiona who was still on her knees.

"Please.." Fiona, still on her knees begged.

"Get up, you might hurt yourself. Sit down I need you to pay attention to what I'm about to offer you." Immediately Fiona gets up cleans her tears and sits down to hear Delilah's offer.

"Audrey is getting married, I requested that you be her maid of honor." Delilah says which irritates Fiona. "You're irritated ??" Delilah hissed.

"I'm sorry, it's been years since we communicated." Fiona says.

"And we both know who is to blame. However I don't care if you use this opportunity to rekindle your friendship with her." Delilah says.

"Then why am I going to be associated with her wedding ?" Fiona asks.

"To redeem your name, everyone knows you're the black sheep on the family. Men are afraid to propose to you because of how wild you are, you can't keep luxuriously spending without thinking of your future this is the time to make alliances and gain favor you won't stay young forever, use your common sense." Delilah hisses but stops to catch her breath.

"You may wonder how will Audrey's wedding help, I want you to make it look like you've grown and reflected on your many mistakes due to the probation, it won't be easy since you have one month."

"One month ?? That's too short to fix what I've done in the past." Fiona whines.

"Then you better start scheming already.." Delilah gets up pouring another glass and immediately gulps it down in satisfaction.

"I'll do what you want.." Fiona mutters trying to figure it out.

"And Theodore will check up on you and report back on your progress, if your reputation worsens or I hear an act of misconduct, you'll be begging to chew broken glass, understood ?"

Fiona only reply with a nod.

"Yes Delilah..."
