LIAM RYDER

I stared at Karen for a second, maybe a second too long, before finally speaking.

"Yes, I am. And… I know exactly what you’re doing. You’ve made this whole thing about me, which is fine, but..."

I didn’t even get to finish before tears began spilling from the corners of her eyes.

She didn’t look away. There was something different about those tears. It wasn't the usual ones she pulled to get me to cave, but this? It was raw and deep, like it came from the depth of pain mixed with anger.

I didn’t even realize when I’d stepped closer until my hands were on her face, clutching it like a rare gem.

"Hey, hey… stop crying, okay? I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have gone that far… I’m sorry,"

I whispered, my voice catching. Seeing her cry, it did something to me, tore at something in me, I couldn’t name. I could bare anything except seeing her cry this much.

"I did everything I did for you. For us. But what? You’re suspecting me? After everything, Liam?" Her voice cracked between sobs.

  • HER ROYAL MAFIA    DRIVING INSANE

CAMILLA RYDERI knew this man right here thinks I’m probably brave enough to admit what he hasn’t said in years. I knew he loved me: the way his eyes lingered, the way his hands handled me as if I were fragile glass, what more could betray his feelings? But I wasn’t brave. I tried so hard not to feel this way. It wasn’t that he wasn’t good enough... he was too much. Vin was everything I ever wanted in Liam, so much that at first I thought I was only drawn to him because he was everything Liam wasn’t. But no…This man sitting right here, with that soft look in his eyes, craving nothing but my touch… this untouchable man with a hundred secrets, with shadows and traumas he hides deep… this was the man I loved. And right now, I didn’t care if the world collapsed around us, if he did to me what I could already see burning in his eyes.I didn’t answer him. Instead, I tugged at his shirt, unbuttoning each piece, avoiding his gaze, but when I peeled it off his shoulders, my breath caught. My

  • HER ROYAL MAFIA    UNSPOKEN WORDS

VINCENZO CASTILLO"I'm sorry, Gui..." I caught myself, dragging a hand over my face like I’d just woken into the nightmare I had created, "Camilla."She didn’t answer. Didn’t even flinch. Just stared at me: silent, still, a silence sharp enough to carve me open."Please... say something," I muttered, my voice cracking under the weight pressing in my chest. "You’re killing me with this silence."The only reply I got was a pillow flung at my face. It smacked me, slid down onto the bed. By the time it fell away, I saw her face. Tears glistening, rolling fast down her cheeks. My heart dropped, twisted. Nothing wrecked me more than those tears.I leaned closer in a rush, my hand cupping her face as if it were something too fragile for this world. "Hey, hey," I whispered, tilting her chin, so her downcast eyes were forced to meet mine.My thumb brushed the corner of her lips, slow and desperate. "What is it? Do you still feel the headache?"Her gaze didn’t waver. She just looked into me, in

  • HER ROYAL MAFIA    STARVED KISS

VINCENZO CASTILLO"You’ve changed, Vin," Caterina whispered. Her voice fell low, almost trembling, her eyes locked to mine with a softness I hadn’t seen since she returned.I didn’t realize how close I was until I felt her breath stir between us, the faint heat pushing against my own restraint.I was the first to break the contact, dragging my eyes away and stepping back, silently, my shoes grinding softly against the marble floor."You used to talk to me gently. You don't call me 'Caterina', you call me 'Catty'" she continued, her voice cracking around the edges, "with those soft eyes... but now..." She broke off with a sniff, as if fighting back millions of emotions. "Now you talk to me like I’m some stranger on the street."I clenched my jaw. "You’ve changed too. People change. That’s life."Her gaze didn’t waver. "You know very well what I’m talking about. If you don’t want to speak about it, fine. Just say so. Don’t make me feel like I’m losing my mind here."Her words cut deeper

  • HER ROYAL MAFIA    A WEAPON

VINCENZO CASTILLOAs I strolled down the dark hall, two of his men trailed ahead of me, their footsteps echoing against the damp walls. Water dripped steadily from a leaking pipe, and the old wooden staircase groaned under our weight as we descended. They didn’t speak. They didn’t need to. Every corner of this place screamed what Celestino was capable of. It wasn't new, we mafias operate this way.Another guard stood behind at the entrance, watching like a hawk as the rest of us slipped into a caged passage that carried us further underground. More stairs followed, steeper, narrower. Whoever designed this place wanted it to feel like a maze. One wrong turn, and you’d lose yourself before ever finding a way out. Classic mafia design, easy to trap a man, hard to free him.I shifted Camilla carefully in my arms as we reached the final step. Her weight against me was a constant reminder of why I was here, why I’d agreed to Celestino’s little arrangement in the first place. The moment my b

  • HER ROYAL MAFIA    IN TWO DAYS

VINCENZO CASTILLOCelestino slipped his hand into his pocket, his sharp gaze locked on me. His face was unreadable: stone-cold, giving nothing away. That strange expression made it impossible to tell what thoughts were running through his head already."You see why I could bet my fortune on Vincenzo? Why I told you it was useless having you guard him?" His words were directed into the air, but I knew they weren’t meant for me.His eyes quickly flicked to Caterina. She still looked stunned, frozen between surprise and maybe fear. Her arms folded slowly, a defense she clearly didn’t feel inside."He wouldn’t have made it this far if you’d trusted me to stay with him, Papa," she fired back, but her tone was still trimmed.Celestino’s lips curved faintly, not quite a smile, more like mock amusement."I trust you, darling. But debating the obvious is unnecessary." His finger lifted, pointing straight at me. "A man will turn into a demon to save his woman. Vincenzo is already a monster. Sav

  • HER ROYAL MAFIA    NOT GETTING BETTER

VINCENZO CASTILLOThe moment I freed the rope from my wrist, I stormed to my feet. The b*st*rd’s face twisted like he had just seen me fly through the roof. The second one didn’t waste time, he aimed at me instantly. My eyes never left Camilla, but my body moved on instinct. I flew midair, sending a kick straight into his chest.Punches were useless against him; I wasn’t here to trade blows. One strike was enough, his body slammed to the ground. I followed with another kick, this time to his jaw. His head snapped to the side, and he went limp, out cold. When I was sure he was out, then, my eyes shifted to the real problem, the main boss. His hand already pulled out a small knife, pressing it right against Camilla’s neck. Her eyes were wide open now, but I knew it wasn’t truly her anymore, not while Nero’s kiss was still swimming in her d*mn veins. She didn’t resist. She just stared at me, her pupils hazy. She's definitely caught between reality and a drugged blur. Her eyes flickered t
