CHAPTER FIVE.

 It was already past nine in the evening and  the whole place was already deserted but these two oldies wanted them to go on a trip this late?No matter how she tried to talk her dad out of this madness, he was adamant. It looks like the two oldies already made up their minds to send them on the damned honeymoon, something none of them wanted to go on especially Zeke who knew he may be found out if he goes with her but neither of their parent wanted to hear anything negative, they wanted them to go for the trip and so they must.

" It's not a long trip sweetheart, it's just a two hours trip so don't worry, okay?" Her dad beamed excitedly as his lips curved up In a smile making the wrinkles on his face disappear for a moment and one could say he was a handsome man in his youthful days.

" No complaints and you two must go" Elder Whyte butt in, he wasn't even going to give his son room to make any excuses. He knew Bryan was not totally in support of the wedding but with time he would grow to know her the more even when he knew she was unpredictable and a vile woman as people captioned her to be.

Ava was done listening to the two of them and angrily snapped at her dad,Why was her dad and father in law proving too stubborn?,

" It seems you have forgotten what I said in that Interview dad, I really don't want to share any kind of relationship with this man. I married him upon your request, I won't go on any stupid honeymoon okay?I have lots of work at the office" she retorted sharply, she was past caring if her father in law or groom was standing there. No one would dictate her life for her and especially not her dad, not this time.

" If she doesn't want to go, we shouldn't force her. After all I am a busy man" Zeke spoke for the first time. On the surface he looked displeased but deep inside of him he was already thanking her for making his work a lot easier. He didn't want to be found out before the real Bryan came.

" Daughter in law, you should listen to your elders okay?" Elder Whyte spoke up again, he knew her temper but since he has already planned it with Brown so he won't let them off easily.

" Mr Whyte, sorry to disappoint you but I won't be going" she said with an air of finality and they both knew she already made up her mind. Just then Pam walked up to them with a bag containing her 

clothes.

" Are you in cohorts with her?" Brown asked, raising an eyebrow as he saw Pam, the two ladies had always been mischievous but Ava was the worst.

" Can we really refuse her sir?" Pam asked back, " and she threatened to do something nasty if I support you two in planning this trip" she added walking towards Ava who had a grim look on her face.

" What would people say if they found out you blatantly refused to go on your honeymoon my dear?It would be chaos," her father said as a matter of fact, he didn't understand why she was just too stubborn and adamant like her mother.

Ava turned towards him as she snatched the bag pam was holding,

' they can think whatever they want father I don't care but I am really not cut out for this trip, not today and not ever. It is an arranged marriage after all" she blurted angrily, " I will leave now since we are done now, just call the hotel or resort you booked and cancel" she added before walking off with Pam and Elora.

" You see Dad, you shouldn't have bothered" zeke muttered to him but Instead he earned a deadly glare from him.

" You should be ashamed of yourself, if you can not get her to do something for you now then I am afraid your future is damned" he answered angrily as he raised his walking stick to hit him but Brown quickly stopped them.

" There is no use getting angry at Bryan, we couldn't stop her either" but instead of Elder Whyte to see reasons, he was busy cursing at his son who had a wide smile underneath the mask he was wearing, these oldies were really hilarious.

" You are behaving like that, good for nothing friend of yours, I always warned you right from the army not to hang out with that boy but you refused. Now see how his lowly attitude is rubbing off on you" he blurted raising his stick again but Zeke quickly dodged, if Bryan was the one he would have known how to rectify the situation but since it was zeke, he only knew how to cause trouble and live in the moment.

" Should I have bundled her into the car then?" He asked Mr Brown," even father in law couldn't stop her so how could I have done that? remember she made it clear that we will not share a husband and wife relationship so there is nothing I can do at the moment".

" Shameless, if I see you with zeke henceforth I will break his bones" Elder Whyte hissed angrily.

" Let's all calm down and get some rest for today, we can think of another way to get her to go on the trip" Mr Brown said after he noticed the air between them was already settled, it was his fault for not being strict enough but he will make sure to send them on this honeymoon, " I know my daughter well enough and I will talk to her okay?"

Whyte heaved a sigh before nodding, " I will call to cancel at the resort and let's meet for tea tomorrow and come up with a new plan" he replied before glaring at Zeke and walking away, it was not until his car zoomed off this Zeke not turn to his father in law.

" I am sorry father, I promise to make it up to you" he said sincerely, he was the only one who knew the plight of the old man and how hard it must be for him.

" It's okay, let's talk tomorrow then" Mr Brown replied as he patted his shoulder softly, " I know my daughter can be a pain in the ass but not to worry, I will take care of all this" 

" Don't worry father in law,we should give her the space she needs. We are already married right?We can go on our honeymoon anytime she feels like it. We shouldn't put a lot of pressure on her seeing how bad her temper gets when she is mad" Zeke added and Mr Brown didn't know why he felt he made the best decision to get her married to the man standing in front of him but he knew he did the right thing.

" We should go home together" Mr Brown said after a while but Zeke quickly declined. He didn't want to face Ava, at least not yet 

" No father, I will just go home and sort everything out first. We can get ourselves a house in a while" he replied respectfully, " perhaps I need to talk to my father and Ava if she wants to move in with me. I can't take that decision on my own you see" he added sincerely, he knew Bryan would have said the same thing if he was truly here.

" No need for getting a house  son, I have already taken care of that and I will talk to Ava about it too" Brown said patting his shoulder softly, " I have already made the arrangements so I will just send the address of the house and you can settle down when you want".

" We should discuss this later, father,for now you need to get some rest, okay?I will come over to the house tomorrow and we can talk"

" Okay son, take care" he replied and his son in law led him to his car, they exchanged pleasantries before his car sped off.

As soon as the car was out of sight, he brought out his phone and decided to give Bryna a call and let him know what happened and after two rings the latter picked.

" What's up man?" Bryan's voice could be heard from the other end of the line.

" Look Bryan Whyte if you are not on the next available flight back home I will skin you alive" Zeke threatened gripping onto his phone tightly, he felt like he might actually die before he came back.

" What happened?" Bryan demanded again but he could roughly guess she was already giving him a hard time and he badly wanted to laugh, " is that snotty witch troubling you?" He added and heard a sigh from the other end.

" Not only is she troubling me but your father won't stop bad mouthing me, I feel like you might have to come and pick my corpse when you get back home because I think my days on earth are numbered" he answered into the phone as his mind drifted back to the kind of deadly glares he got from her and part of him shuddered in fear, 

" she is a maniac Bryan, not even her dad can tell her what to do man. She bluntly refused to go on the trip your dad and hers prepared and neither of them could say anything, she is a psycho and you have to believe me" he added ruffling his perfectly styled hair in frustration.

Bryan couldn't help it and burst into a fit of laughter from the other end, it was really very funny to see zeke behave like this.

" Are you actually scared of her Zeke?I thought you love adventures?"

" I will be the one laughing when you get back" Zeke replied feigning annoyance.

" Sorry man, I will be back in two months and everything will be okay" Bryan replied and waited for Zeke's reply.

" Two months" The latter almost screamed, " why that long?"

" Several other things came up bro so I have to finish up before I return. Don't worry I will do anything you ask of me when I return, just put up with her until I get back. You should always help this needy friend of yours you see".

" what actually happened that you are not telling me man?it is really going to be hard dealing with her and what if I am found out before you actually get back?this issue is really serious" he added and he could hear Zeke sigh heavily from the other end of the phone.

" it is a long story man, I will fill you in on everything when I am back but I just need you to keep being me until I return. what of my dad?did he suspect a thing?".

Zeke sighed as he ran his hands through his hair in faustration," he had a lot of bad things to say about me like always but everything is fine now and he didn't suspect a thing" he answered still massaging his forehead.

" Thanks man, I will make it up to you okay"

Zeke hissed angrily, " like I said If anything happens to me before you get back you must take revenge on that Ava" he retorted and disconnected the call, " it seems my boring life was actually better than this" he sighed before walking into the waiting car. What this marriage held for him in two months, he would wait and see.
