CHAPTER FOUR.

The whole place was decorated beautifully and some guests were already trooping in and out of the venue.

As the car came to a halt in front of the venue, she couldn't help but roll her eyes. Why was her dad bent on giving her a perfect wedding?she didn't even want it.

" You don't like it?" Zeke asked already knowing the answer she would give, how did she become like this?

" Look Mr Bryan, you should mind your business and let me mind mine" she snapped angrily, " it seems you didn't watch the last interview so let me refresh your memory, even if we have this excuse of a wedding we are not going to have a husband and wife relationship so you better stay away from me. Who the hell do you think you are to question me?"

" Calm down ma'am" Elora quickly chipped in. She had been with Ava the most and she knew how to calm her down in a way.

"Sorry" Zeke answered as his eyes continued to linger on her. She should be happy he was willing to marry her and She was giving him attitude but she didn't know he was the wrong groom either.

" I will go check if everything is ready" Elora said and made to climb out of the car but Zeke stopped her.

" Keep your ma'am company, I will go and check" he said and climbed out. Ava didn't bother to answer any of them as she closed her eyes and placed her head on the car headrest.

As soon as he climbed out of the car, he bumped into Pam who was also coming out of the reception venue.

" Congratulations Bryan, where is Ava?" She asked, smiling sweetly at him. Unlike her friend, she was a sweet one.

" Your witch of a friend is still in the car" he blurted out before he could stop himself and he could see her smile a little, " it's not like she is a witch though but she can be very frustrating" he added smiling shyly.

"I understand you Bryan, Ava can be a pain in the ass but you will soon get used to her and you will find out she is the sweetest. I will get her" she added and walked off.

" I wonder how they get along," he muttered to himself as he made his way inside the venue. Everywhere was beautifully decorated and it was suitable for a daughter of a big business tycoon. He looked around and saw his father in law standing by the wine rack so he slowly strode towards him 

" Care for me to join?"he  asked as he walked up to him

" It would be my pleasure son," Mr Brown replied, smiling at him as he handed him a wine glass, " you know, I have never reprimanded Ava for being the kind of person she is and I am not planning on doing that because that was how her mum was. I just hope you will be able to tolerate my daughter as long as you both are married" he said as he sipped his wine slowly.

" Do you think she would want to stay in this marriage for long?" Zeke asked in a sincere voice, he could see the love for his daughter in her eyes and he only wished she was not the way she turned out to be, if only things were different.

" I won't stop you Bryna, anytime it gets unbearable and you want to leave I will readily accept your decision. I know my daughter is a hard nut to crack and whatever decision you make at the end of the day I won't stop you".

" Why did you get her married when you know she is not interested sir?" He inquired sipping his drink again, everyone knew Ava Brown was a vile woman so Zeke wanted to know why he was hell bent on getting her married even against her will.

Mr Brown smiled slightly dropping his glass on the glass table, " you are my son in law now so I won't hide anything from you Bryan. I was diagnosed with cancer and it's already in the last stage, I didn't want to her to be alone when I am gone so that is why I hurried over the marriage, tomorrow is not guaranteed".

As he heard it, it was like a thousand needles pricked his heart. He didn't know why he was feeling very bad after hearing he was going to die, how would Ava react to it?,

" Don't tell her though, I will tell her myself. I just want you to be by her side as long as you can and when you can't take it anymore, you are free to leave. I won't judge you" he added as he smiled, patting his shoulder.

" Don't worry father in law, I won't disappoint you" 

If only he knew he was asking the wrong son in law to make the promise.

" Thank you son" Mr Brown added before walking away, he knew he made the right decision in getting her married.

" Really?on your wedding day?" Pam  asked, raising an eyebrow as she opened the car door and saw Ava typing away on her laptop without any cares of the world, " and you allowed her?" She asked staring intently at Elora.

" She threatened me" Elora whispered to Pam.

" Oh please Pam, why weren't you at the church? you know how awkward everything was?" She asked rolling her eyes at her best friend and continued with her work.

" I had a lot to take care of here Ava and it's all thanks to you. You won't even allow others to touch the cup you will use to drink water so I came to make sure everything was per your request and you are welcome" she replied sitting beside her, " anyways I just saw Bryan a while ago and he looked frustrated Ava, c'mon you haven't even finished your wedding yet and he already looks so frustrated, I wonder how he would cope with you for the rest of his life".

She stopped working on her laptop and faced Pam with a mocking look on her face, 

" Do I look like I care about this wedding or him? everything I did is for my dad okay and I really don't care how he feels. To me he is just a nobody" she stated as a matter of fact and Pam could only sigh at her narcissistic friend.

" Enough of work, let's get going. The guests are waiting"

" Let them wait" she replied and continued her work, " it's my wedding not anyone else's" she added.

" Kiss her, kiss her, kiss her"  the whole hall erupted in shouts as the two couples stood in front of the audience to cut their cake.

It was like a mission impossible because the Ava everyone knew would not allow that, she didn't allow him kiss her in the church and she wouldn't allow it here either.

" They are asking for me to kiss you" Zeke whispered into her ear but instead he earned a glare from her and he kept quiet. Not like he was scared of her but he just didn't want to inconvenience her and moreover she was not his wife to start with.

Still standing and smiling at the audience, he saw her dad stand up and what they discussed earlier became fresh in his memories. A dying man's wish for his daughter to be happy, without thinking about the consequences anymore he held her waist and just went for it. The kiss was brief but enough to make the audience go wide because of how romantic it looked.

Ava's eyes opened wide as he kissed her,her blood began to boil and she felt an inkling to push him off so hard but looking at the way her dad was smiling genuinely, she decided to keep calm and deal with this Bryan Whyte later. Everyone who was extremely close knew underneath that fake sweet smile of hers, trouble and anger was brewing, even Pam too knew Bryan was going to get it from her sooner or later.

" You can deal with me later, just don't allow your father to feel unhappy"  he whispered to her as he disengaged from her slowly with a forced smile on his lips, Bryan must pay him for the humiliation he would receive later from this snotty witch.

The whole reception went well with its lavish party. It was a once in a lifetime kind of party but a certain someone was fuming with anger and it looked like she would explode anytime soon.

By the time the party was over it was already late in the night but what the two newly wed didn't know was that another surprise was waiting for them.

They were both standing and greeting some business associates when Bryna's dad walked up to them with a huge grin on his face. He didn't come early for the wedding because he was caught up with official duties but he was sure proud of his son. If only he knew.

" I am so proud of you son" he said happily hugging him while Zeke had a huge grin underneath his mask.

" Thanks dad".

" It seems that troublesome friend of yours decided to ditch you at the last minute, I don't see him around, he is always sticking to you like glue"  Mr Whyte said Mockingly and Zeke badly wanted to laugh but he had to control himself,

" He is a very good man dad, you are just too blind to see it" he answered Mockingly, he would use this chance to get his revenge on Mr Whyte who always said he couldn't amount to anything".

" You wish son, he only know how to cause trouble right from the army".

" Stop it dad and greet my wife already".

"We have already exchanged pleasantries, you should get ready for your flight" he added with a sly look on his face and both couples were surprised.

" Flight?" Ava asked In disbelief, why was there a lot of surprises after another.

" Yes, me and your dad planned it so you should get ready" he replied and walked off to make other arrangements.

"Can this day get any better?" She gritted angrily.

" Don't worry I will talk to them and we won't have to do what they want" Zeke said hoping she might be impressed but Instead she hissed and walked off to find Pam, where was that girl anyways?

" Bryan Whyte, you are so dead" he muttered under his breath as he walked off in the opposite direction to find either his father in law or dad. He possibly couldn't go on any trip with her now or he would be found out and he can't risk him and Bryan's life like that when the witch was involved.
