Chapter 14; I'm your worst nightmare

Elijah's POV

I burst out laughing, I laughed so hard that tears rolled down my cheeks, " Wow, that was a good joke, I haven't laughed that hard in a while." I coughed and wiped my eyes, my shoulders were still shaking with amusement.

Her expression remained stoic, " I'm not joking. I'm being honest, I don't want to get pregnant again. During my last pregnancy, I almost died, I could barely keep in my food, I wasn't eating well, was on bed rest for most of it because my body was too weak. Becca was breached and I had to give birth using a cesarean section," She stood and raised her shirt, exposing a long scar on her abdomen. " This is proof of how hard my pregnancy was. I don't want to ever go through that again."

I sat up and crossed my legs, about to descend on her with all the anger in me but then I remembered Becca was sitting next to me. She had stopped eating and was watching her mother and me. I turned to her and gave her a smile.
